Or is the mainstream still busy, dumbing the populace down with it's non-stop Michael Jackson coverage?
Here is the story:
Manuel Zelaya: arrested by soldiers, taken to Costa Rica
Military Coup in Honduras
A military coup has taken place in Honduras on Sunday, June 28, led by School of the Americas (SOA) graduate Romeo Vasquez. Members of the Honduran military surrounded the presidential palace and forced the democratically elected president, Manuel Zelaya, into custody. He was immediately flown to Costa Rica.
School of the America's graduate Romeo Vasquez, led the overthrow.
Hmmm, makes ya think America must have had a hand in this one.
Shades of the overthrow in Haiti??
Forcible regime change violates international law
Haiti's democratically elected President Aristide was removed from Haiti by the United States, and taken to by threat of force, his destination the Central African Republic. Forcible regime change violates the well-established principle that people should be able to choose their own government. The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights recognizes self-determination as a human right, and specifies that all peoples have the right to "freely determine their political status and freely pursue their economic, social and cultural development." The United Nations Charter also prohibits the use of force "against ... [t]he political independence" of another state.
Ordinary Hondurans have taken it to the street!Where is the condemnation from Obama???Due to intermitant power outages and heavy rain, independent media within Honduras has had extreme difficulty transmitting news. This means that while there's been plenty of news in the mainstream media about the actions people with a lot of political power have been taking--from Chavez and the ALBA nations to the Organization of American States to the United States--there's been very little reported about what rank-and-file Hondurans have been doing to reverse the coup.
However, it is clear that Hondurans are resisting. People are taking the streets in Honduras despite incredibly hostile conditions created by the military.
This man holds a banner in support of a referendum for a new Constitution
So the soldier punches him!

Military has been coming down hard on the media
Is the US behind this overthrow? Were the constitutional changes being voted on in the referendum detrimental to wealthy powerful and foreign interests? Were the changes set to empower ordinary Hondurans?
Get with the game Penny, Honduras and Hondurans are not important, what we need is info on Michael Jackson. I mean when is the last time that Honduras had a King Huh? Ok Michael was a drug addled falling apart at the seams has been king of pop but a king none the less. I mean really Elvis the King of rock is all but forgotten and we just simply can't let the same fate befall Michael.
ReplyDeleteWe simply must keep his memory alive 24/7 for without it all we have left is the King of the Teleprompter sock puppet monkey man Obama and this is simply unexceptable.
So pop on Michael and may your sordid life with all of it's sordid details and falling off parts bless us for ever and ever amen with a lot of verilys thrown in too.
Well, this whole things seems fishy from the get go.
ReplyDeleteObamarahma is supporting Zelaya. Could this be a right hand doing one thing and the left doing another?
From what I understand the referendum was about changing the term limit, re the amount of terms one president can run for or hold. Similar to what Chavez did in his last referendum.
Seeing that we don't have term limits here in Canada at all, what is the fuss?
obama says he is supporting zeleya, but, see my new post, and then you will wonder.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I think about, it was this a warning to zeleya.
we can take you out any time!
silv, I know it is difficult, michael jackson and all, the gloved crotch grabber, will be missed by some but not as many as the mainstream media would lead us to believe.
ReplyDeleteKing of Pop, King of Rock,
wondering is their a king of country, gospel and rap???
