An unapproved document outlining Israel's future foreign policy states that the government should not attempt to reach a permanent settlement with the Palestinians but should focus instead on a temporary accord to prevent US and European frustration.
This means, just buy time, that's all. Buy time-try to fool the international community and then continue on our merry way.
This is more of the same old, same old. Israel has never wanted peace with the Palestinians nor have they ever wanted to see a two state solution.
Israel wants a ONE state solution. Their own!
When Israel was created, the intention of it's leaders has always been the creation of a "Greater Israel". The land that extends from Egypt to Iraq is what Israel craves.
And we can't pretend that this goal has not been made clear by Israel's leadership.......
"Our task consists of preparing the Israeli army for the new war approaching in order to achieve our ultimate goal, the creation of an Israeli empire." Moshe Dayan
"No Zionist can forgo the smallest portion of the Land Of Israel. [A] Jewish state in part [of Palestine] is not an end, but a beginning ..... Our possession is important not only for itself ... through this we increase our power, and every increase in power facilitates getting hold of the country in its entirety. Establishing a [small] state .... will serve as a very potent lever in our historical effort to redeem the whole country." David Ben-Gurion
Therefore, it would only make sense, that indeed Israel does not want peace with the Palestinians. They didn't in the past, they do not want peace presently nor do they want peace with Palestine in the future. They want land, land that other people just happen to be living on.
I'll close with another article, the headline sums this piece up well-
The quest for a greater Israel - Settler ideology has made the sanctity of the land a central tenet and effectively turned the Palestinians into aliens on their own soil
