Lethal Force an option for Vancouver Olympic airspace

Norad warns it can use ‘lethal force’ if pilots don’t obey Olympic airspace rules

The Canadian Forces are ready to exercise “lethal force” in a worst-case scenario to defend new airspace-security restrictions being imposed during the 2010 Olympic Games.

The new airspace designations are effective Jan. 29 to March 24.

-They begin with two conjoined “Olympic rings” established within a 30-nautical mile radius around Vancouver International Airport and the Whistler athletes’ village and extending from surface to an altitude of 18,000 feet. The ring around YVR extends into Washington state almost to Bellingham and has the approval of the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration.
- Within these two Olympic over-arching rings are three smaller “Olympic control areas” that include the Sea to Sky corridor to an altitude of 12,500 feet, and a 13-mile radius around YVR and Whistler to 18,000 feet.
-The third and final airspace designation is “Olympic restricted zones” and applies to Olympic villages, competition and training venues.
-Marine traffic will be subject to no-go “exclusion zones”
-Dangerous goods transport will be restricted — generally between midnight and 6 a.m. on roadways — on the Sea to Sky Highway, downtown Vancouver, and within 500 metres of Olympic venues

 Interesting;
"The security rules on transportation bring to mind the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack on the twin towers of New York City’s World Trade Center along with the Oct. 12, 2000, suicide bombing of the USS Cole destroyer in Yemen."

Do the security rules bring to mind these particular incidents?
I don't see it.  Is this a  suggestion that these types of security measures were in place when both incidents (9/11/USS Cole) took place. I don't think so.
Or is the mention of these incidents and that just released ressurection tape of Osama Bin Laden meant to reinforce some  specific propaganda??

    It's the propaganda, of course . . . lol.

    To me it seems more and more likely that something will happen in Canada at this time . . . the PTB love foreshadowing in all its forms, and the stretching to make a connection between 9/11's absent air defences and Vancouver's supposed tight ones leads me to believe that this is just foreshadowing of a sort . . . and that the attack will not come by air.

    If any kind of small attack happens, I'd have to think the protesters of the Olympic movement would be implicated, and that they'd be Canadian. This way, we can investigate and be afraid of everyone, not just the darkies and swarthies.

    Or who knows, it could just all be psychological propaganda in preparation for another even somewhere else . . . but, if I am picking dates that are "conspicuous" during the Olympics? Feb 11, and Feb 14 come to mind.

    You really have to listen to am640 on Sat nights after "Leaf talk" (usually there is a hockey game and chat afterward), listen to the Spaceman and his intricate knowledge of the use of symbols that the PTB love to use, among other things. He's right on the money for most everything, in fact.

  4. yeah maggie, I found that statement kind of odd... I went the propaganda angle, connecting the incidents with the bin laden tape, but, the mention of them was like hmmm, most people would not even be aware of the USS Cole incident.
