Passports and assasins- Israel no accusations, no concerns

Some more Israel news. Sorry, but the whole passport thing is just ripe for the pickin'

As Kevin Rudd makes alot of noise, demanding answers and all that bluster.

"We are going to get to the bottom of this," Prime Minister Kevin Rudd told ABC Radio.

And Gordon Brown does hand springs for his audience, to demonstrate his steadfast perseverance and intention to get an answer

Prime Minister Mr Brown said: "We are looking at this at this very moment."

All very urgent you may think but, not really according to Israel.

Today, Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor has denied that diplomatic ties are under strain

``I haven't heard any government accuse Israel of being involved in that, not in France, not in Britain, not in Ireland, not in Germany and now not in Australia,'' he told ABC Radio today.

``There have been many hints, or direct accusations by media (but) ... they don't represent any official stance.

We don't think we should feel concerned.''

When asked directly if Israel denied involvement.
Palmor declined to respond saying saying there had been no accusations.
``(So) I refuse to stand accused.''

So, I ask, is it all bluster and show on the part of the Australian and UK government?

Also interesting-
Victor Otrovsky- Mossad just manufactures passports

If they can obtain blank passports, which they have in the past from Canada, from England, they do. If not, they just manufacture them."

He says a company within Mossad headquarters is dedicated to forging passports.

"They create various types of papers, every kind of ink. It's a very, very expensive research department," he said.

He says the manufactured passports are almost identical to the originals.

"If they create a passport at a top level for use of that nature ... I don't think anybody will be able to find the difference," he said.

Perhaps Israel really isn't concerned diplomatically. If they are just manufacturing passports as needed?

Oh, and one more thing...

IN 2004, it was an open secret in Canberra's Middle Eastern community that Israeli agents were trying to obtain "clean" passports from countries such as Australia and New Zealand to be used by its spy agency, Mossad.

In 2004, Mr Kazak declared that a Mossad agent operating in Sydney at the time had obtained 25 false Australian passports.

I just can't help but come away with the impression that when spokespersons for Israel say they do not stand accused and are unconcerned, they really don't and they really aren't

  1. I doubt very much that Rudd would be beating his chest and saying that "We'll get to the bottom of this if he didn't already know what is "at the bottom of this". The reason being that if there is a possibility of something embarrassing being found out, you go quietly on it till you know. Standard politics.

So we have a piece of theatre going on here. This is all a 'limited hang-out' exercise to hide the extremely embarrassing, damaging and revealing fact that the Australian passports in the possession of these assassins weren't forged at all. They were genuine Australian passports handed over knowingly to the israelis. This implicates the Australian govt (and others) in the murder of this man.

THAT is why this story is front page of the ABC News; to try and get in front of this damaging story replete with multiple mentions of the word "forged" and lead people away from the fact (and all the evidence supporting it) that the passports were not forged at all.

No wonder the israeli govt is not worried; it's not their problem. It's the Australian government that has the problem. The israelis are probably laughing their tits off over this.

"He who would sup with the Devil needs a looooong spoon, indeed!"

  2. Exactly. If an Israeli told me that the sun rose in the East, I'd double check.

Otherwise Rudd will do whatever he's told. He certainly has so far, and I don't see why he'd start changing now.

  3. I have never forgotten that little chat Cheney came all the way to Oz to have with our Kevin before the election.

Must have stirring stuff because 'Our Kev' got so revved he blitzed the competition. Coach Cheney, eh. What an inspiration. He probably regaled kev with tales of his hunting trips and all the game he has bagged. Or was it games he has in the bag?

  4. I am leaning towards all real passports, for everyone.

But, I am willing to go with Britian and Australia as the big for sures.

And it is the Australians and Britian that do have the problem hence all the theatre.

Because all this media coverage has had me wondering? Why?

And the Israeli attitude is just whatever?
    Really unconcerned.

I heard this interview the other day, with a fellow, saying the world funds the Israeli occupation of Palestine, and it got me thinking, yeah, this is true, so they fund the killing so why would they give a sh*t about these passports?

  5. Some anomalies with the passport photos:

Since 2005 Subjects must look straight ahead with mouths shut and "neutral" expressions, whereas the photos of those released in the press show many of them grinning like loons. These photos should have been rejected in a UK passport application. Anyone who has applied for a UK passport knows exactly how fussy they are about these rules. Many of the photos also show the holders wearing glasses.

    From the Home Office website:

    Information for photographers

Guidelines for photographic studios producing photographs for United Kingdom passports.

Glasses can often show reflection or glare from flash, and the frames can obscure the facial features we need to capture. This can cause problems when trying to capture the biometric. We strongly recommend that customers wearing glasses are asked to remove them to ensure that we are able to obtain an accurate biometric. Whilst this may mean that their passport photo does not show them as they usually appear, their photo will still be a good likeness.

Customers with a visual impairment should also follow this guidance.

Facial expression must be neutral (not frowning nor smiling) with the mouth closed

  6. thanks John, I used your comment in another post.
