A group of US soldiers deliberately killed civilians and kept body parts for trophies
The charging sheets relate to allegations that five US soldiers were involved in the murders of civilians in January, February and May of this year.
A further seven servicemen are accused of a conspiracy to cover up the crimes.
Other soldiers were accused of stabbing an Afghan corpse, taking or possessing photographs of casualties and beating other men in an effort to keep them from talking to investigators.
The soldiers were attached to the Army's Fifth Stryker brigade.
That's Amerika for you. Like that movie Mars Attacks: "WE COME IN PEACE!!'! as they run around destroying everything. A sick and twisted, morbid culture. Is is any wonder that 80-85% of the worlds serial killers reside in the US? Are they attracted? Do we make them? Both?
ReplyDeletePenn This is really nothing new, when I was stationed in south east Asia during the latter sixties and early seventies the collecting of trophies was routinely done. There however it was the norm to cut off the trigger finger of Viet Cong snipers when they were found and killed. Sometimes the finger was taken before the sniper was killed.(don't ask me how I know this)
ReplyDeleteThen of course there was I suppose the lesser crime of raping all of the women in an entire village irregardless of age, and some were very young indeed but that never seemed to gather much speed in the news or in the Stars and Stripes.
All in all it was quite some place to spend close to three years and as for US troops wherever they might be, I can't really see that much has changed. Mind you Canadian troops are fuck all better.
Hey Pen',...Like anyone was fooled by this!? War-mongering, rednecks!
ReplyDeleteveritas
Hey All!
ReplyDeletewhat really annoyed me about this story? And this is not the first time I have read about this type of sick activity in Afghanistan or Iraq for that matter.
Recall the one where the soldiers gang rapped the young girl (14) then murdered the entire family
Then Abu Ghraib, reports of raping of prisoners.
and on and on and on, and that is just the bit we actually hear about, or read about, I am absolutely convinced that most of the abuse is covered up and unreported.
So what ticks me off?
The endless blather from the military and government on having the "high moral ground"
we have to be there to bring 'democracy' to save the woman, etc
makes me ill
and if people eat that crap up??
well. what can I say? If they choose ignorance, that is what they choose. But, clearly there is no moral high ground, hell there is no morality at all,
People, should just stop this charade, stop pretending to ease your own mind.
