Since at least 2001,(almost 10 years and maybe longer?) both WRAL, a CBS affiliate in Raleigh, N.C., and WTOC, a CBS affiliate in Savannah, Ga., have regularly hosted active-duty soldiers from the Army's 4th Psychological Operations group as part of the Army's Training With Industry program.( Army training with industry??? What other industries does the army "train" with?)
The PSYOPS soldiers used WRAD and WTOC to learn broadcasting and communications expertise that they could apply in their mission, as the Army describes it, of "influenc[ing] the emotions, motives, objective reasoning, and ultimately the behavior of foreign audiences." ("Foreign audiences"? Hmm, don't these two stations have domestic audiences?)
The relationship between PSYOPS, Training With Industry, and television news operations has stirred controversy in the past. In 2000, after a Dutch newspaper reported that PSYOPS troops had been placed in CNN's newsroom under the program, CNN (claims) discontinued the internships and admitted that they had been a mistake. "It was inappropriate for PSYOPS personnel to be at CNN, they are not here now, and they never again will be at CNN," a spokesperson said at the time.
So CNN says, but, you and I have no way of knowing. Isn't it interesting that it was a Dutch newspaper the reported on the psyops troops being in CNN newsroom? And the whole time the psyoperatives were present at CNN they never disclosed that to their audience? I would think they are still present at CNN, they just distanced themselves to save face. Think about it, it is a great psyop!
It has been previously reported that the Marine Corps placed public affairs officers with the Chicago Tribune for several years
I wonder where else the psyoperatives have been placed? You may recall I posted in July on the rebranding of the PSYOP soldiers, to military information supporty operations.
A psyop, is a psyop, is a psyop. It is manipulation of you. It is control of you.
