Israel responsible for Stuxnet attack

No surprise.

Israeli elite cyber-unit responsible for attack on Iran

Ralf Langner, a German researcher, claims that Unit 8200, the signals intelligence arm of the Israeli defence forces, perpetrated the computer virus attack by infiltrating the software into the Bushehr nuclear power station (Aha.. I thought i had a previous post on Unit 8200, Israel's omniscient ears.

Cyber security experts said that Israel was the most likely perpetrator of the attack and had been targeting Iran but that it had not acknowledged a role to its allies.
It was quite obvious, to those paying attention, that Israel had the most to gain from this type of attack on Iran. Given that Israel is the most vocal proponent of an attack on Iran.
But, to make their attack that much more obvious the Israeli cyber-attackers left a clue within the worm itself. In a Computer Worm, a Biblical Clue
Deep inside the computer worm a fleeting reference to the Book of Esther, the Old Testament tale in which the Jews pre-empt a Persian plot to destroy them.

That use of the word “Myrtus” — which can be read as an allusion to Esther — to name a file inside the code is one of several murky clues that have emerged as computer experts try to trace the origin and purpose of the rogue Stuxnet program.

Israel has poured huge resources into Unit 8200, its secretive cyberwar operation

Thanks to Israel's act of cyber terrorism, the worm has spread to China. Super virus hits 6 million computers in China

The Stuxnet cyberworm can break into computers and steal private information, especially from industrial firms, sending it back to a server in the United States, said Wang Zhantao, an engineer at the Beijing-based Rising International Software Co. Ltd., a leading antivirus service producer in China.

This cyber terror attack initiated by Israel against Iran has has Chinese officials quite concerned. Understandably.

Computer hackers have warned that a week-long national holiday in China from Friday could leave the country vulnerable to further attack from a potentially lethal computer virus.

Stuxnet is feared by experts around the globe as it can break into computers that control machinery at the heart of industry, allowing an attacker to assume control of critical systems like pumps, motors, alarms and valves.

It could, technically, make factory boilers explode, destroy gas pipelines or even cause a nuclear plant to malfunction.

Why did I highlight the sentence above? Think about the ramifications of this worm. Israel intentionally released this cyber attack on Iran via this Stuxnet worm, it has spread into China.
Either intentionally or naturally through computer networks. What if this worm had not been kept under control by Iran? Would we be looking at a nuclear power plant meltdown. Imagine the death, destruction and mayhem that could be caused by exploding gas pipelines and other 'accidents' that could have or may still take place? Here is some more food for thought. Stuxnet Raises Concerns About Vulnerability of Nuclear, Industrial Facilties

Stuxnet was designed to target control systems, in particular, it targets supervisory control and data aquisition systems or SCADA systems designed by the German company Siemens.
After finding a way into a plant's system, the worm can simply steal data or potentially wreak havoc, causing its systems such as cooling pumps to malfunction.(In the case of a nuclear power station)

The vulnerability of power plants should be a big concern, but notes that the threat is not limited to nuclear and electrical plants alone. "Any industrial control systems, like for example chemical plants - it's been speculated that one could induce disaster in a chemical processing plant like a cracking plant for petrochemical or a chemical production plant creating a Bhopal like situation which could cause an explosion that would kill a large number of people"

Do also notice how quiet the Western media is about the dangers this attack could bring. If it was any other nation, but Israel, could you imagine the talking heads in the media? The immediate press conferences being held by heads of state? But, since it was Israel that launched this terrorist attack, just silence. Silence speaks volumes, doesn't it?

  1. Spying and stealing info is one thing, but I'd bet Israel's has planted bogus data and files showing that Iran has nukes, etc.

Then they can get some stooge to smuggle that psyops out of Iran on a laptop, and get their Zionist owned MSM to run all sorts of stories from an Iranian 'defector' who has the goods on their non-existent nukes.

But they wouldn't do that, would they?

  2. Possibly "Israel's has planted bogus data and files showing that Iran has nukes, etc."

Good thought, and one I hadn't even considered!

And they sure as heck would do that!

I mean, look at the attack with this worm. Quite brazen, really.
Love the creepy biblical reference, nothing says theocracy like a biblical reference in your terroristic cyber attack.

Funny I thought Islam was supposed to be the religion of terror.

  3. "nothing says theocracy like a biblical reference in your terroristic cyber attack."

hahaha, pen, that is a classic.

i also think it is a poke in the eye to the chinese, for good measure, in case they think they can push israel around.

  4. It was only ever going to be Israel.

And they've attacked China have they? BIG mistage. There's no way the Chinese will let that go unanswered. Remember when they downed that American spyplane over Hainan Island? Israel will get theirs. I'll bet money the Chinese are right now making their own little deniable virus to fuck Israel over. And see if they don't put their own little Chinese reference in the source code somewhere...

  5. i totally agree nobs. i don't think the chinese think of themselves as israel's monkey.

  6. thanks AP! :)

I am hopin the chinese are not as fooled as the rest.

They are a pretty ancient culture, hoping with that age, comes a hell of alot of wisdom.
