Getting 'high' on...... Bath Salts!?

File this under bizarre-

When Neil Brown got high on bath salts, he took his skinning knife and slit his face and stomach repeatedly. Brown survived, but authorities say others haven't been so lucky after snorting, injecting or smoking powders with such innocuous-sounding names as Ivory Snow, Red Dove and Vanilla Sky

Some say the effects of the powders are as powerful as abusing methamphetamine. Increasingly, law enforcement agents and poison control centers say the bath salts with complex chemical names are an emerging menace in several U.S. states where authorities talk of banning their sale. From the Deep South to California, emergency calls are being reported over exposure to the stimulants the powders often contain: mephedrone and methylenedioxypyrovalerone, also known as MDPV.

Sold under such names as Ivory Wave, Bliss, White Lightning and Hurricane Charlie, the chemicals can cause hallucinations, paranoia, rapid heart rates and suicidal thoughts, authorities say.

"It causes intense cravings for it. They'll binge on it three or four days before they show up in an ER. Even though it's a horrible trip, (see above) they want to do it again and again," Ryan said.

Dr. Richard Sanders, a general practitioner working in Covington, La., said his son, Dickie, snorted some of the bath salts and endured three days of intermittent delirium. Dickie Sanders missed major arteries when he cut his throat. As he continued to have visions, his physician father tried to calm him. But the elder Sanders said that as he slept, his son went into another room and shot himself.

Sounds more like getting "low" rather then high. Low down, dirty and depressed.

  1. The war on people, with drugs as a weapon continues to evolve.

Readers here know that the Hells Angels ex OSS, were the first spook sanctioned drug dealers in the modern era. Heroin via Air America from Vietnam, and cocaine from Columbia with help from Bill Clinton and the Bush crime family were the first two big chapters. The crack epidemic covered by Gary Webb from the San Jose Mercury was also an American CIA operation, this time using enterprising homeboys from the inner cities.

The first big foreign drug wave was ecstasy, an Israeli operation.
I guess they were jealous of the CIA having all the fun?
Crystal Meth was a corporate affair with big pharma scum reaping the billions in profits from that one.

This new drug IMO is also mainly an Israeli operation. The active ingredient mephedrone first showed up in Israel in 2004, and Israel was the very first nation to outlaw it in 2008. Oy vey!
Clearly it is a perfect drug for these shock doctrine comes home to roost days in America. Desperate people, not quite ready for suicide, will gravitate to this affordable shit.

The best proof of this being a spook operation is the plethora of media 'stories' on the bath salt snorting fad. The reporting is salacious and almost dares people to try it.
The Molly Cyrus snorting salvia video that went viral recently was also an attack on families and young girls in particular. TV media whores played it to death and made sure it went viral.

The only drug seriously under attack from our evil governments is marijuana. About 70% of the drug busts in Canada are for that relatively benign weed.

The new wave of designer drugs will keep on rising. Today's kids are the first who view pills as ubiquitous and harmless. They are going to get slaughtered with these new poison treats. Tragic.

  2. That is bizarre, Pen . . . but really, what isn't when it comes to laws to protect us for our own good.

Great comment by anon, thanks for that.

I don't have the time to comment Pen, but I am still reading . . . keep up the good work!

  3. But you know what's worse Pen? Putting them in the bath! Whilst it might sound benign, dissolving the bath salts in bathwater and then trying to snort them can result in fatal drowning. People should keep that in mind.

  4. Hey all!

"Crystal Meth was a corporate affair with big pharma scum reaping the billions in profits from that one."

I recall some news to the affect of both big pharma and some big name US chains profiting handsomely from that practice. And knowingly profiting.

"This new drug IMO is also mainly an Israeli operation. The active ingredient mephedrone first showed up in Israel in 2004, and Israel was the very first nation to outlaw it in 2008"

I guess Israel had to move on from the Ecstasy business?

"The Molly Cyrus snorting salvia video that went viral recently was also an attack on families and young girls in particular. TV media whores played it to death and made sure it went viral."

This story has never crossed my path, so I don't know what it is you are referring to. You can direct me towards something to read, if you wouldn't mind?

"Today's kids are the first who view pills as ubiquitous and harmless. They are going to get slaughtered with these new poison treats."

I am sure that is the whole point of this type of drug use. To exploit the young and keep them from being truly productive and proactive humans.

    Hey Slozo!
good to know your still reading ;)

Nobody, a wisecracker .. my hubby read that to me, bright and early in the am.
" You know what nobody said"
    As he laughed.

    wouldn't want any fatal drowning?

I was just stunned to read the affects of this on people, I mean it is horrid.

Wondered? What part of the brain does this affect?

  5. Here ya go Pen.
GlobalTV in BC ran the worst 'reports' on the Miley Cyrus gets high story. It pissed me off because their reporting suggested that it was a harmless silly fun thing to do.
All the TV media ran with the story that came just in time for Christmas party season.
Mote the sidebar story at this cbc link informing people that many Toronto head shops sell salvia.
    http://www.cbc.ca/canada/toronto/story/2009/10/05/to-salvia.html

This reads like an advertisement for kids looking for a new exciting high!

    Good coverage, or suggestion?

Here is another good ad for salvia targeted to BC kids.

Another ad, with better information on where to get salvia.
    http://www.globaltvbc.com/entertainment/Salvia+made+popular+Miley+Cyrus+video+sold+legally+Vancouver/3979279/story.html

All of the major Canadian newspapers covered it too.
I followed the Miley/salvia story closely due to the fact that my own family argues and fights about the impact of this tragic celebrity tart on one of our own kids. On that topic, your kids/TV video a few weeks ago was helpful.

The media coverage of the bath salts story is similar. A small dose of faux outrage for the responsible adults, and straight to the important message for the kids..........wanna get high?

  6. thanks A:
I had heard one mention of Miley and a bong, but, that was it.

Had a seen it in the newspaper, I would have passed it by.

I didn't realize that it had gotten that much coverage and I see what you mean by the promotion of it.

"On that topic, your kids/TV video a few weeks ago was helpful."

    I am glad of that!

  7. Here is a quote from a full page 'how to' article on girls slumber parties in the Victoria Times Colonist this past weekend.

    "Now the Fun:
Family coach Sue Kirchner.....suggest panning two or three group activities, a movie and plenty of snacks. For girls, Kirchner suggests a spa theme: Buy Epsom salts and lavender oil and let them make bath salts."

Yeah Sue, thanks, just don't let them snort any.

    Another Olympic legacy.
