Destabilizing Italy: Why is Berlusconi on the hot seat ?

UPDATES AT THE BOTTOM

Let me state unequivocally, I think the guy is scum. So this piece is not to be taken in any way shape or form as a piece defending him or his pedophile tendencies.

That said, read on.

I think Berlusconi's usefulness to the West, is at an end. Just a gut feeling. The overthrow of the Tunisian leaders and the ensuing disruption is surely going to cause problems for Italy.

Original title of this article was: Italy Overwhelmed as Tunisian Immigrants Flee Turmoil
"It's no coincidence that the first boats full of migrants arrived at the tiny southern Italian island of Lampedusa just two days after a revolution overthrew Tunisia's strongman Zine el Abidine Ben Ali. That's about how long it takes for a rickety, overloaded ship to cross that stretch of the Mediterranean Sea."
As of the writing of this article the tiny island of Lampedusa had already seen 5,700 Tunisians fleeing the "revolution"

And, as the article states this is no coincidence, it has always been a place people from North Africa will flee too.

Because, Lampedusa's location
"has long made it a magnet for North Africans seeking a better life or a claim for political asylum. In 2008, a peak year for migration, some 31,000 illegal migrants reached Lampedusa"

As if Italy did not have enough trouble already? The sudden massive influx of fleeing humanity, would certainly exacerbate many of Italy's problems. But, not just from Tunisia.

As of today, it seems the proverbial shit is hitting the fan in Libya. Is this a problem for Italy?
Why, yes it is!

In 2008, a peak year for migration, some 31,000 illegal migrants reached Lampedusa, mostly from Libya, at a rate of roughly 600 a week — far slower that what has been seen in the past few days.

Recall I inquired about Libya the other day? Imagine my non-surprise to see this in the news today- Protests break out in Libya.
This should mean more people fleeing to the tiny island in Italy, this time the Libyan's!
Further destabilizing Italy. Did I say destabilizing Italy? Yes, because I think that is what is going on. Italy is being destabilized. Just like Egypt.

But why?
Of course, I can't be sure.
I have a sneaking suspicion that Silvio's friendship with Putin, of Russia is a factor.
What is the basis of this bond of friendship. between the two leaders?
The construction of South Stream Pipeline.

South stream pipeline is competition for the Nabucco pipeline
Actually is is a bit more then just competition. It buries Nabucco when it comes to capacity!

Yes, I am of the opinion, that we are witnessing another facet of pipeline politics!

These Pipelines will not merge at any point with one another, they are direct competitors.
Nabucco is backed by the US/EU. South stream is backed by Russia.
And.... Italian energy company Eni, is a 50/50 builder with Gazprom.

The venture (Nabucco) is competing with South Stream, a project headed by Gazprom and Italy’s Eni. Interconnector Turkey-Greece-Italy, or ITGI, led by Edison, Greek natural gas supplier Depa and Botas, is also vying for Caspian gas.

Therefore, Italy is involved with the construction of a competing pipeline that is not supported by the US. Nor is it supported by the EU. A pipeline that will aid Russia in delivering gas to Southern Europe.

Anyone seeing a problem in Italy's support of the Southstream Pipeline???

I mentioned capacity, what is the capacity of Southstream?

We can read a bit more here regarding the capacity of the South stream Pipeline here- Putin and Berlusconi seal ‘South Stream’ pipeline deal. I'll quote.

"Until now, Nabucco and the Russian 'South Stream' project's capacities were considered to be of identical capacity (30 billion cubic metres a year)"

However, the signing of the agreement between Gazprom and Italy's Eni, which will more than double the capacity of South Stream, from 31 billion cubic metres per year (bcm/y) to 63bcm.

Clearly this is one big pipeline. And, in a world where "size matters" the party with the smaller pipeline will surely feel inadequate.

UPDATE HERE!

With much thanks to R and Hubris. Who have both offered up additional information as to why Silvio is under the gun. Pipelines are not the sole problem!

Hubris pointed out, besides the friendship between Putin and Berlusconi, forged over the pipeline deal, Berlusconi is supportive of the arrest and jailing of Khordokovsky

Prodi also fumed at Berlusconi's support for the controversial [Ha!] arrest of the politically ambitious Russian oil tycoon Mikhail Khordokovsky, an arrest that was denounced by other European leaders."

I have numerous posts here on Khordokovsky if you are unaware of this news.

Start here, continue on, then continue on.

R, left this comment-

"Berlusconi is against the EU Central Bank taking away our sovereign right to print our own money.Instead we now have to BUY our money from the EUCB. This causes what i called 'national debt'. 1. I don't doubt that the pipeline has a lot to do with it, but my impression is that Berlusconi himself is 'A Problem'.

It appears to me that he is considered by the Anglo-US to be too close to the Russians. Since the mid-Fifties Italy has had strong connections to Russian Oil, and it is often claimed that Berlusconi has his pockets full of Russian bribe money.

I don't find that hard to believe but then the people claiming it are often themselves tainted by their own various connections to, what might be best described, irrespective of appearances to the contrary, as Rothschild/Anglo-US enterprises

'I'm Russia's reference point in Europe' says Berlusconi

And loath though I am to pimp Wikileaks . . .

Prodi also fumed at Berlusconi's support for the controversial [Ha!] arrest of the politically ambitious Russian oil tycoon Mikhail Khordokovsky, an arrest that was denounced by other European leaders."

  2. When NWO insiders occasionally go off the rails, the instant sex scandal is often the solution to the problem.
Elliot Spitzer tried hard to blow the whistle on Wall Street before the meltdown, and he was nailed to the cross as a result with his 'hooker' scandal.
Berlusconi was an NWO insider, and like all of them, he abused people with sex. Boys, girls or women, whatever the preference, the blackmail material is on the shelf ready to go in case a loyal team member tries to rock the boat.
The reasons you list, primarily doing business with Putin, make perfect sense. It must serve as quite a warning to other top politicians around the world who might be contemplating doing something for their own citizens instead of serving the globalists.

Following up on your Pakistan/Ray Davis story, clearly you were wrong.
The Nobel prize winning man of peace, Obama sets us straight:

"If it starts being fair game on our ambassadors around the world, including in dangerous places where we may have differences with those governments ... that's untenable,' Mr Obama said at a news conference, his first public remarks on the case.
'It means they can't do their job. And that's why we respect these conventions and every country should as well.'

It's cute how Bushbama refers to this fucking thug mercenary killer an "ambassador".

John Kerry in Pakistan to secure the release of the US assassin, is spewing worse lies. Pakistan is a tinderbox.

I just caught your comments from the other day, apologies for missing them.
I will leave a response there shortly..

    As for Italy.

I agree the instant sex scandal is often or almost always the solution, given that politicians are such scumbags...It is a ready made tool. To bad politicians can't have more credibility and decency? But then, they wouldn't be politicians.

The pipeline is a big problem for the US/EU/NATO crowd.

RE: Ray Davis, clearly I was mistaken, MY bad!!
    lol

  5. The Whistler;
    Very Interesting!!!!

Berlusconi should be opposed to the EU Central bank racket.
    It has ruined Italy's economy.

If Italy could use the lira, they could control the value of their currency as necessary.

    ALSO!
If Italy issued it's own currency, debt free, the Italian people (particularly in the South) would be way less impoverished!!!

This is why I mentioned the immigration issue. From Tunisia and Libya.

I am aware that Southern Italy, is already inundated with immigrants from Africa.

Many thousands more will be further pressure on the already bare bones infrastructure.

It will also serve to encourage a North/South split.

A split, I believe, that the Italians in the North would THINK was beneficial to themselves. They would of course be mistaken.
But, that is a story for another day.

  9. Romano Prodi is totally owned IMO.

If I can recall correctly I read a book about the Red Brigades and the kidnapping of Aldo Moro, his name came up in the book connected to something, that I can't recall????

I found something that linked him to tipping off the police to the house that Moro was being held in.
    To late, of course.
How would he have known that?
The brigades were totally co-opted by US intelligence.
Aldo Moro was going to form a coalition with the communist party.
And then he get's kidnapped and killed.
And Prodi know's where he is?

    How obvious is that?

The "support for the controversial [Ha!] arrest of the politically ambitious Russian oil tycoon Mikhail Khordokovsky"

Would be a deal breaker to the bankers and many others.

Berlusconi has more black marks against him then I even realized!

  10. I'd be interested in the name of that book, with the connection on Prodi to the Moro assassination, Penny.

the Aldo Moro assassination was the event which helped to open my eyes - I was 7 at the time ;-) - even then I, a 7 yr old, knew it could only have been state sponsored

I also happen to be convinced that the Baader-Meinhof were a Gladio-type gang - I suspect even they themselves didn't even know it, and also suspect the Markcus Wolff was the link

Wolff turned up later as part of the very weird Natalie Bracht http://postmanpatel.blogspot.com/2008/06/natalie-bracht-disappears-oh-and-five.html story

Tony Gosling's connection to that weird story was highly suspicious and set alarm bells ringing for me personally

Gosling is a VERY shady individual (IMHO) who attempts to insert himself into various 'truth' campaigns and then usually manages to quite successfully muddy the already murky waters

  11. very interesting conclusion.

webster tarpley has come to the same (in his world criis radio show and being interviewed by alex jones).

interestingly - following your discussion - he has started his political awakening in italy as journalist investigating the death of aldo moro..

  12. I fully agree, the elite put these puppets in place, so when the media suddenly turn against one of them, it's all part of the plan.

Fact is, most western leaders are scum, doing god knows what in private behind security, so for us to learn the details of one of them means his or her time is up.

From there it's either leave to spend time with the family, or have an accident.

  13. Hubris:

the book or books I was referring too, because I can't recall which one mentioned Prodi, were Puppetmasters- The Use of Political Terrorism in Italy
    Author- Philip Willan

NATO's Secret Armies-Operation Gladio and Terrorism in Western Europe
    Daniele Ganser

The story on Prodi is that he got the "tip" on the whereabouts of Moro via a seance, using a Ouija board.

    He testified to this.

IMO, this is simply non credible.

I recall around the time, he had come back into power in Italy (he beat Berlusconi) I was reading one of these books and I thought how weird. A name from the past.
Prior to his brief re-entry into Italian politics he was with the EU Commission.

The guy has global government/tyranny written all over him.

"the Baader-Meinhof were a Gladio-type gang - I suspect even they themselves didn't even know it, and also suspect the Markcus Wolff was the link"

This I am not familiar with, apologies. I do note in the Ganser book there is an entire chapter devoted to the left behinds in Germany.

That said, the Ganser book just touches the surface of all of these NATO covert ops. I mean, how much can be covered in one chapter?

I have never heard of Tony Gosling until now.
Not a clue who he is.
Thanks for all the the link you left.

I don't listen to Alex Jones at all.
I do listen to Webster Tarpley on occasion, but, not for about the past months or so..

It doesn't surprise me that Webster would come to the conclusion that the pipeline factors into the drama unfolding in Italy.

Because the pipelines are not only about energy flows, they are ultimately about control.

If Russia can bring energy to all of Europe they can undermine American influence in the region and strengthen their position.

If the US can bring the energy to Europe they will strengthen their hold on Europe. And Russia will be weakened.

If Russian oil was to flow to Europe it could also serve to weaken NATO.

Lot's at stake. Alot more then just keeping your house warm.

It must be the book "Puppetmasters- The Use of Political Terrorism in Italy
    Author- Philip Willan"

I read Gansers book a while back - it's available in PDF on the net - http://www.fileserve.com/file/5Dkn8GH

One comment on Russian influence via oil - Russia can, through simply controlling trhe flow of that oil, influence Europe politically. Hold it to ransom as it were.

they have already done this in the recent past with the Gas pipelines, with some of the 'New' European countries which were former soviet satellites, especially after the brief Georgian war
