Turkey's War Provocation- Seizes Syrian Ship

Hot on the heels of yesterday's post Talkin' Turkey- Pipelines, Warships and Drones that is

Breaking news today!
Turkey Seizes Syrian Ship

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan says his country has seized a Syrian-flagged ship possibly carrying weapons to Syria.

Turkish media reported Mr. Erdogan told journalists in New York Friday that Turkey will intercept and seize any type of arms shipment bound for Syria. He said that applies to shipments by land, sea and air.

He did not give specific information about the Syrian ship that was seized, its cargo or when or where it was stopped.

Turkey will intercept any type of shipments of "arms" whether by land, sea or air.
Possibly carrying weapons?
In other words, Turkey is attempting to put a stranglehold on anything and everything coming into Syria.
This could be food or medicine. Whatever. Claiming it is "arms".

If you are considering that this did not happen...I considered that too.

    But.
In the end it would make sense given all that has gone on that Turkey would look to provoke Syria.

In fact they have been provoking Syria all along. And that sooner or later the ante has to be upped.

  6. Well maybe I was dreaming :)

We seem to be in a post-factual world - arcane details like when, where, what ship, what cargo are superfluous to our post-factual media whores.

With the Russian elections now a foregone conclusion I expect the Syrian situation to hot-up. We know the drill. I wonder if Putin has been bought-off?

Turkey is part of NATO, so obviously any anti-Israel posture is for show - a 'Punch and Judy' act.

this, of course, is an act of war. As is any blockade.

hmmm . . . so if Palestine is given statehood status, the Gaza blockade becomes an act of war.

It would be an act of war, indeed.
Sadly I can't see the statehood thing happening.
Barring some kind of miraculous about face on the part of the US.
