The CIA's "Vengeful Librarians" checking you out on Twitter & Facebook

The whole spin on this article is this monitoring is being done to accounts overseas.
I have no doubt this is the case.
What goes unmentioned completely?
If the Vengeful Librarians are monitoring overseas Twitter& FaceBook accounts.
Along with blogs, forums and more. They are also monitoring domestic accounts

In an anonymous industrial park in Virginia, in an unassuming brick building, the CIA is following tweets — up to 5 million a day.

At the agency's Open Source Center, a team known affectionately as the "vengeful librarians" also pores over Facebook, newspapers, TV news channels, local radio stations, Internet chat rooms — anything overseas that anyone can access and contribute to openly.

5 MILLION TWEETS A DAY- How many is that a year?
That is just tweets alone. How about Facebook?
How about blogs, forums, news sites. Because the vengeful librarians monitor it all

The CIA facility was set up in response to a recommendation by the 9-11 Commission, with its first priority to focus on counterterrorism and counterproliferation. But its several hundred analysts — the actual number is classified — track a broad range (of sources)

To track a broad range of sources, but, there is a problem with overseas tracking

"We do what we can to caveat that we may be getting an overrepresentation of the urban elite," said Naquin, acknowledging that only a small slice of the population in many areas they are monitoring has access to computers and Internet.

Yeah, I was going to mention that-
Many of the nations being mentioned would be incapable of generating 5 million tweets a day, day in, day out.
Pakistan, African nations for example.
Internet availability is lacking and it is out of reach, price wise, of the vast majority of people.
Therefore, the thinking goes that this many vengeful librarians would not be needed in the USA
Unless the spying was being done on the domestic users?

While most are based in Virginia, the analysts also are scattered throughout U.S. embassies worldwide to get a step closer to the pulse of their subjects.
I would say this sentence makes my point.
For the small amounts of internet traffic generated in foreign nations.
The US has vengeful librarians station at embassies through out the world
