Bangor, Maine drills for a Zombie Apocalypse?

This appears to be legitimate. Strangely enough.

Zombie Apocalypse in Bangor Teaches Emergency Crews How to Respond to Disasters

with video!

A little more here

The undead are wreaking havoc in Maine — in a unique emergency preparedness drill, at least.

About 100 first emergency responders from eight counties in Maine were summoned to Bangor to contain a "zombie apocalypse" Thursday in an exercise intended to train them to react to a mass casualty even.

“If they don’t receive the anti-zombie drug, they progress to stage two and then on to the ‘undead’ stage,” Kathy Knight, director of the exercise's organizer Northeastern Maine Regional Resource Center, explained.

 The premise behind the drill?

An unknown virus originating from Jamaica has reached Maine, turning the infected into zombies. Once infected, the virus quickly spreads to the brain, and turns the host into a full-fledged zombie, who has only one thing on its mind: biting other people.

The officials were armed with two would-be vaccines – one to prevent the infection from reaching the brain, and one to bring the zombies back to life.

  1. This thing isn't going away is it?

In regards to Maine, ordinarily you'd imagine that otherwise sensible adults upon being told they were going to spend all day dealing with a fictional disease existing only in movies would tell their bosses to get real. But it seems that that didn't happen.

... i just ran around the net to see if this was some weird RT one-off. It ain't. And never mind Maine's emergency professionals, the weird flipside of this story is that no one in any of the various medias (NBC to Huffpo to abovetopsecret) thinks much of it, not beyond thinking it's a big laugh. The closest I came to anyone saying 'get real' was some fellow in the comments saying it was a waste of money. Not a single person asked 'why?'.

It seems it's Pen, A13, and AP with daylight second. Cool chicks rule, huh?

Anyway, I think this is something, something proper. I was prepared to dismiss the scale of the meme from Hollywood but now with disparate arms of the US government continuing to embrace this as a reality, and not forgetting the complete absurdity of three cases of people suddenly turning cannabalistic in as many weeks, I have to conclude we're in impossibility land. The impossibility of this being real, that is - ie. what it says it is.

Obviously, there is a 'push' on. This thing is going somewhere and not by accident. It smells of; planned, scheduled, funded, steered. It smells of psy-op.

The 'reality' end of it is small-time so far but the 'imagining' end of it, the Hollywood meme push, has been massive. A decade or so ago you could count all the zombie movies ever made on one hand. And now? Now it's its own genre for Christ's sake. Think about that. A meme this size ain't done lightly. Whilst it's got a shorter time line, in terms of the sheer number of flicks, it's not far off the 'everyone-must-hate-Arabs' meme. And how big was the 'reality' to that particular 'imagining'?

Or to put it another way: you don't get a 1000 trumpet fanfare for a small-timer. When you hear a fanfare that loud you take it as read something big is coming.

Hmm... Voltaire just popped into my head. Those who can be made to believe absurdities can be made to commit atrocities.

Okay, so tie that to the Big Lie and what do you get?

Anyway, heaps more 'reality' to come yet.

    1. Sounds about right Nobby mate...

Swap absurd zombie with mind virus xyz (as prescribed by tbtb) and it all clicks into place. Let's not forget that many people are 'expecting' something big to happen this year and that some people won't disappoint them.

    2. Of course "cool chicks rule" What else could be expected? ;)
Good to see ya out and about Mr Nobody..

      Edo- ditto for you!

Something is up. Were are definitely seeing the beginning of a narrative. It is happening far to often.

Nobody do you recall years back, when there was the killing in Canada on the greyhound bus?
Vincent Li? I did a number of posts on that one.

Recall that Li ate his victims ear? Minimally?
Recall that their were big time discrepancies in the police response time?
And that the police sat outside the bus, armed and left Li on the bus with the victim?
Until he, Li, finally finished and basically walked off the bus himself?
That was one f'd up happening?
Now we have had another face eater
The whole Magnotta body parts eater and many other body parts being eaten all over the world..
      And a zombie meme!

    3. I started wondering if I finally (ha) fell out of the cool club because I don't understand the fascination with zombies and vampires, etc. Am I finally over the hill so I don't understand new organic cultural trends?

But I wouldn't be surprised if this is meme placement by our masters.

Penny turned me on to the pirate imagery the last few years. Remember one of Obama's first acts was smoking (summarily executing) teenage African pirates. The hyped threat of piracy also was used to justify the west's expanding wars. Maybe they introduced pirate imagery to further heighten fears?

I agree the rationale for the zombies would be to scare us about bio weapons. And there are some scary ones out there like the killer flu that would kill like 50% of a population. There were a lot of stories last year about how some scientists wanted to publish the data publicly but the U.S. wanted to keep it as a western secret but mainly under U.S. control. Just think if they developed a vaccine for so the elite could inoculate themselves as the set the virus loose on the rest of us.

    4. Oh yes, I remember when it was all pirates all the time
      And pirate movies!
Most famously Johnny Depp's /Jack Sparrow
Pirate themed this and pirate themed that.
That has died off as of late.

    Buffy the Zombie Slayer...

    hee hee

  3. Ok, sorry for the lame humour.

Seriously though, we talked about this a couple weeks ago - how it could 'actually' happen - without the Hollywood effects. I don't think the 'real' zombies would be as hard to kill as the movie ones. I imagine a few good shots would certainly take them out. However, we came to the conclusion that if a virus spread quick enough the disintegration of civil society would likely be the worst part of it. The fear created would cause anyone to shoot at anyone else - killing your brother is okay - he might be a zombie!

Psy-op sure it is. Something in the tunnel - yep.

Top 10 Lessons for Surviving a Zombie Attack:

    1. Organize before they rise!
    2. They feel no fear, why should you?
    3. Use your head: cut off theirs.
    4. Blades don’t need reloading.
    5. Ideal protection = tight clothes, short hair.
    6. Get up the staircase, then destroy it.
    7. Get out of the car, get onto the bike.
    8. Keep moving, keep low, keep quiet, keep alert!
    9. No place is safe, only safer.
    10. The zombie may be gone, but the threat lives on

And of course - double tap...

    1. Hey Buffy!

I thought you were a vampire slayer ;)

  4. FYI:

foul language and personal attacks will not be tolerated

    1. London is getting ready for unprecedented 'health surveillance' to keep us safe.....or to monitor the movement of released viruses, whatever.

'In advance of the Games, officials have set up what’s been dubbed the ‘biggest health surveillance system in the world’. This will involve closely tracking our behaviour.....
With these systems being extended for the Olympics, the legacy of the Games won’t just be sparkling new sporting arenas, but we’ll also have a far more comprehensive and effective health surveillance system for the future.'

PS There is no such thing as chemtrails, no such thing.
Funny, there was no such thing as bubble clouds or 'mammutus' clouds in my Environment Canada weather book from the 1980's.
