First we’ll start in Haffah/Haffeh- depending on where your reading?
Yesterday the “activists” were claiming that Syrian army continued “bombing and burning Haffeh”
How “activists” would be aware of the ongoing situation, since the fighters or activists had allegedly fled the area on Monday, is curious. In fact the report on the continuous bombardment comes from a fighter in hospital in Turkey. So, how does the fighter know what is ongoing? Or is he creating a narrative?
“Recovering at a hospital in the Turkish city of Antakya, a wounded Free Syrian Army fighter described the assault on Haffeh by government forces”
Keep in mind this town was a rebel held town. This means the town was held hostage by the rebels.
Today the msm is reporting that a UN team has made it to the town:
U.N. monitors, who have been trying to enter the town after several days of intense clashes between Syrian military and NATO/GCC backed rebel fighters.
Recall: It was not the clashes keeping the UN monitors away.
It was the occupying rebels and their supporters. How do I know this? It is what makes sense given the fact the town was occupied by the rebels.
As mentioned on Tuesday June 12, here.
Back to the narrative being created around Haffah/Haffeh:
Given the fact that the vast majority of residents had already fled the town, as you will read below, it seems the people most likely responsible for keeping UN monitors out were the rebels and their terror support staff.
“Only a handful of residents were in evidence, and one said 26,000 people had fled.”
Why had 26,000 people fled? When had they fled? Had they been forced out of their homes by the NATO/GCC fighters when they lay siege to the town? Had they been cleansed from the area by the fighters long before the Army came in? That would not be a first.
I have covered fleeing residents and ethnic cleansing previously
Christians being ethnically cleansed and Israeli media defense of it
We are going to look at that once again: Syrian Islamist opposition casts out Christians
The Christian minority in Syria is facing a growing threat and thousands are being forced to flee their homes as they face harassment and discrimination from radial Islamist factions of the opposition.
At least 9,000 Christians from the western Syrian city of Qusayr were forced to seek refuge after an ultimatum from a local military chief of the armed opposition, Abdel Salam Harba, Fides news agency reports.
In the latest outburst of violence a Christian man was shot dead by a sniper in Qusayr, which neighbors the restive city of Homs.
There have been reports last week that some mosques in the city have announced from the minarets: "Christians must leave Qusayr within six days, which expires this Friday."
Two Catholic priests who fled Qusayr confirmed to the news agency that they heard the ultimatum "with their own ears" repeated from the minarets.
"The situation is unsustainable in the area and exposed to total lawlessness," Fides sources on the ground say. They also fear that the fate of Christians in Qusayr could soon affect the 10,000 believers who live in other villages in the area.
The areas controlled by the opposition are witnessing the rise of radical forms of Sunni Islam with the extremists not willing to live in peace with the Christians
Apart from religious rifts, the violence against the Christian community may also be fueled by the fact that they have openly expressed support to the regime. Bashar Assad, as well as his late father, Hafez Assad, guaranteed secular rule in Syria, protecting Christians from discrimination and guaranteeing their rights.
On Wednesday, an armed group broke into and desecrated the Greek-catholic church of St. Elias in Qusayr.
"It is the first time in the ongoing conflict that such an episode has occurred in which sacred symbols are deliberately hit," a local source told Fides.
Speaking of lyin’ Hilary Clinton’s claim of “attack helicopters” being sent to Syria, covered on Tuesday.
Copters in Syria May Not Be New, U.S. Officials Say
When Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton accused Russia on Tuesday of shipping attack helicopters to Syria that would “escalate the conflict quite dramatically,” it was the Obama administration’s sharpest criticism yet of Russia’s support for the Syrian government.
What Mrs. Clinton did not say, however, was whether the aircraft were new shipments or, as administration officials say is more likely, helicopters that Syria had sent to Russia a few months ago for routine repairs and refurbishing, and which were now about to be returned.
“She put a little spin on it to put the Russians in a difficult position,” said one senior Defense Department official.
Hillary spinning something? anything? WOW, I just can’t imagine that. Not in my wildest dreams! Hillary lying! Hillary prevaricating. Hillary fabricating falsities. Hillary creating a fictional narrative. Why, I could never believe it possible!
Ok, that is me being completely facetious and feigning surprise and shock. Hillary lies constantly. She is a master/mistress of deceit! And she isn’t alone.
What the helicopter narrative makes possible, I have already mentioned this ad nauseam to readers here, the helicopter narrative creates a justification for a no fly zone.
Keeping that in mind, getting to the bottom of the NYT’s article, unsurprisingly
“We can no longer say the regime is not using air power against the civilian population,” said Andrew J. Tabler, an expert on Syria at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. “That brings the discussion of intervention and ‘no-fly zones’ closer.”
Keeping the above lie in mind and the endless NATO push for a no fly zone this news today should come as no surprise. There is a move for another UN resolution.
One that France wants to be legally binding. If Russia and China veto this, NATO will go all 'Balkans' on Syria. You have been prepped for that for a good long time now.
West works on peace plan- France demands UN resolution be legally binding
(France: meet the new boss, same as the old boss)
Western powers were drawing up a fresh resolution for the United Nations Security Council Wednesday - France demanded it be made legally binding on Bashar Assad's regime.Timed to coincide with the new push at the UN, of course a new Amnesty International report!
Laurent Fabius, the new French foreign minister, said his country wanted a resolution under the UN's Chapter 7 provision that would enforce the six-point plan with the threat of sanctions, legal action or even military intervention. He said a no-fly zone was being considered.
A searing report due to be released today by Amnesty International described a pattern of indiscriminate violence used by the regime.Expect non-stop news coverage.
