Humanity is the worst obstacle to it's own higher learning.......

The context for this saying is the conforming oppression of society upon the unique individual.

"Humanity is the worst obstacle to it's own higher learning. More then anything else that might be cited (such as language skills or imaginative facilities) this is what makes our species unique. We are encouraged by society to serve and perpetuate the given order, not the higher order of evolutional striving"

John Lash

  2. The Lash quote is ABSOLUTELY true, especially in today's world. If anyone deviates, they're beaten down. Sure glad for some of the masochists in our society, without them, we'd really be herd animals.

  3. I concur.

If you can't fit the mold you are beaten down
I must be a masochist then, because here I still am ;)

that said, it is very sad to think about humanity in this light, rather then embracing those that walk their own path...
that humanity will stoop to oppressing in order to maintain the status quo
which is servitude to the elite class
and they are blissfully unaware of why it is they (oppressors) are even doing it

Lets take Mr Lash's statement apart sentence by sentence -

"Humanity is the worst obstacle to it's own higher learning."

Psychopaths are the worst obstacle to humanity's learning.

"More then anything else that might be cited (such as language skills or imaginative facilities) this is what makes our species unique."

More then anything else that might be cited (such as language skills or imaginative facilities) psychopaths are what makes our species unique. (No other species has an inter-predatory element hidden within it)

"We are encouraged by the society to serve and perpetuate the given order, not the higher order of evolutional striving"

We have been brainwashed by the psychopaths and the culture they have formed and control to serve and perpetuate their psychopathic order, not the higher order of evolutionary striving that is inherent in humanity.

The psychopaths love to blame humanity for the consequences of the psychopaths' behaviour. It is called 'blame the victim'. John Lash, by making this statement, is wittingly or unwittingly serving the psychopaths' agenda.

The problem is clear. It is not humanity. It is the psychopaths.

    2. Hi James

Well thanks for all that. Wonderful breakdown
Knowing John Lash via the countless interview I have heard of his
And having read his books, I am quite certain he is very aware of the psychopathic leadership of society

I did take the quote out of a book and without the benefit of all that came before and what came after the entire meaning is not clear

But clear enough to demonstrate that a conditioned society will serve and perpetuate the order as dictated by the elites rather then serve the higher evolutional striving of humanity

The saying resonated because within society, the edicts are put out by the psychopathic leadership and enforced by society at large, rather then questioned by the society at large

I often harp and harp on non participation in the illusory system created by the elites for their benefit

    3. That we as peoples and nations follow psychopathic leaders is a problem. No argument there from me, Pen. The fundamental question and the real problem is 'why?' Is it the nature of 'humanity' or the nature of psychopathy? They are opposed. My definition of psychopathy is 'anti-life' and it is therefore anti-humanity.

I'm sure Lash is aware of the psychopathic leadership, too. And that is why I take exception to him saying such things as, "Humanity is the worst obstacle to it's own higher learning" when he knows better. I know you like him, Pen, but I'm going to call John Lash out on this because I think it is of fundamental importance.

I take your point that the statement has no context but his point is clear and he reinforces it - 'humanity' itself (and not its opposite) is to blame.

The other glaring error in his statement is the assumption that we need to evolve through higher learning. It's nonsense. We, in fact, already have all we need and always have had. We have a conscience and a sense of justice and a desire to co-operate built into us from birth. We instead need to unlearn psychopathic ways of thinking and behaving that we have been programmed with by the psychopaths through our (their) culture.

  4. James I will most likely be putting up a video with John Lash and Thomas Sheridan speaking of psycopathy in society

    Listening right now

Would we not evolve through higher learning?
    I think we would.

JL"We are encouraged by society to serve and perpetuate the given order, not the higher order of evolutional striving"

james: "The other glaring error in his statement is the assumption that we need to evolve through higher learning"

I don't think he is saying we need to, my interpretation of what he is saying is that we will inevitably evolve via our higher learning power.

Which IMO makes sense because as a species we have already evolved to a higher order via the triune brain.

Though I am always unsure which came first the evolution of the people pushing the evolving brain or the evolving brain pushing the people?

I agree we have a conscience and an innate sense of justice. And agree wholeheartedly we need, as a group, to unlearn psycopathic ways of thinking.
