Canadians evacuated from Yemen, by Russia, confirmed by Canadian Government

If you blinked you might have missed this one. The Canadian media picked up the news only after it was reported in Russian media

Government confirms Canadians evacuated from Yemen, possibly with Russia’s help

The federal government is confirming that an undisclosed number of Canadians have been taken out of Yemen, amid Russian state media reports that the Kremlin had helped them leave.
Foreign Affairs spokesman John Babcock said in an email on Saturday they are aware that Canadians departed from Yemen safely.
Russian news agency TASS reported Friday that two Russian planes brought 284 people from Yemen to Moscow on Thursday, including Canadian and Polish citizens.
Babcock would not confirm Russian involvement, but said Canada’s ability to provide any consular assistance in Yemen is “extremely limited.”
Babcock also said Foreign Affairs has been advising Canadians against all travel to Yemen since 2008.
It’s estimated more than 500 people have been killed in Yemen in the past two weeks amid fighting between government forces and Shiite rebels.
The reported Russian assistance to Canadians in Yemen comes amid recent tensions between Canada and Russia over the conflict in Ukraine

Yemenis search for survivors in the rubble of houses destroyed by Saudi-led airstrikes in a village near Sanaa, Yemen.
Apparently the coalition of the killing with US assistance is really killing civilians in Yemen.

More below regarding Canadians that were taken to safety on Russian planes and one on a Chinese ship. No information on who the Canadians are or why they were in Yemen. It's just interesting how mum the Canadian government is about this evacuation.

You heathens are only good friends when the great country Amerika needs some low lifers to do the dirty work. Then there the idea if they were killed there then Canada would use as a selling point to the sheeple for more war. WOW on helping Canadians and Polish citizens out, I guess the Russians do look at things differently.
