Beautiful Snowy Owl Caught on Traffic Cam in Montreal, Canada

I've seen these beauties in the real world. And they are every bit as awesome as they appear in the video and image below.

What's interesting about the Snowy Owl? It has always been known as an Arctic Circle Bird. Residing in the Arctic Circle.  But, it has moved further and further south. They have been around these parts for about 3 years now? Causing quite a stir when they first appeared.  It seemed the colder the winter here in Southern Ontario, the more Arctic Birds we had?

Our Niagara: Snowy Owl in Niagara on the Lake

St. Catharines photographer Bill vanOosten captured a snowy owl keeping a watchful eye in Niagara-on-the-Lake as it perches on the rocks over Lake Ontario.

Beautiful :)

  1. Hi Penny:

Funny you should post about the Snowy Owl. I saw that and was so impressed that I'm going to be making a whole lot of "miniature" snowy owls this year...as Christmas ornaments for next year. I'm currently working on a template using large pine cones as the body.

  2. Happy New Year to you! I saw a picture of this, didn't realise they released the actual footage - how wonderful!

    1. How are you doing?!
and yes they released the footage. It's very brief and some people had fancied the footage up, unnecessarily.
I preferred to let the bird's beauty shine through all on it's own
