IDF General Calls Turkey a "Problematic Entity" for Israel. And Israel 2.0?

Sounds like much of the NATO msm and alt media. You know the "petition to kick Turkey out of NATO crowd'?   Turkey will not be removed from NATO.
The frame and blame Turkey for everything done by the US and Israel/ CIA/NATO crowd?
Has Israel just shown it's hand in the creation of Israel 2.0 aka Kurdistan?

Deputy IDF Chief of Staff Yair Golan in August 2015

Link and Link

The Islamist regime in Turkey poses a series of challenges for Israel, IDF Deputy Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Yair Golan said Thursday.Speaking at a security conference hosted by the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies at Bar Ilan University.
Golan — as a military official — was unusually candid in publicly expressing such an opinion on the ongoing diplomatic process.

Golan said, "I believe that as long as Turkey is governed by an Islamist-oriented party, and headed by an adversarial president like [Recep Tayyip] Erdogan, we could face several problems, as well as challenges, in that regard."
“I wouldn’t go for direct hostilities, that’s not wise. It’s still a large and powerful country,” he stressed. “Even if we don’t have identical interests and identical ideologies, we need to work to assuage tensions with the Turks, while still standing by our values.”

He wouldn't go for "direct hostilities"- Of course not!  But, how about indirect hostilities?
Same as Israel has done in Syria? I'm certain Israel would go for that! I'm quite certain Israel is going for that!
“The West is having a complex conversation with the Turks,” he added. “The Russians not too long ago had a complicated conversation with the Turks — and still are. Yeah, there’s definitely some complexity.”
It was not clear if Golan was presenting an official IDF assessment of the situation with Turkey or expressing his personal thoughts on the topic, and a request for clarification from the IDF went unanswered.
Very clearly Golan is talking IDF talk. Therefore, there was no need for clarification from the IDF.

  1. You are absolutely correct with your assessments above. Please do not take from my comment an impression that I believe myself to be some sort of expert. Your last statement is spot-on. Having had the chance to be employed by an individual, a dual american/israeli citizen who resided in israel for years and served in the IDF as an officer, we spoke at times about IDF policies; as well as israeli government policy. Any officer would not be expressing his individual opinion/s when commenting to the media or public. This is, of course, proper behavior when speaking as a representative of any modern military. That "unusual candor" is simply telling the audience exactly what the IDF wants them to know. What you describe as "IDF talk".

    1. Hi Charles:

"That "unusual candor" is simply telling the audience exactly what the IDF wants them to know. What you describe as "IDF talk".

      Thanks :)

I would have thought this posting would have got more comments- because this guy is not a grunt!

He is IDF Deputy Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Yair Golan.
And this top of the heap,(nearly) General is saying Turkey is a problem and a challenge for Israel.

And then he states very plainly “I wouldn’t go for direct hostilities" which tells us he would go for indirect hostilities like suicide bombings etc
And no one wants to understand that Turkey is being destabilized, intentionally? I throw my hands up in disgust Charles, I really do.

Not referencing you or anyone specific, but, when I listen to the so called alt media, it sounds just like the msm- Regime Change promotion for Turkey based on R2P?
      Come on! It's that obvious.

  2. Since reading here I look at certain alt media sites and authors in a completely different light. Looking for evidence of laziness when it comes to critical analysis or out-right collusion with the forces of obfuscation and misinformation dissemination. Which improves my own ability to properly analize situations.

    1. That is a great comment! As it expresses my feelings and I quite sure many others.
