Music has Charms to Aggravate, Incite, Distress and Soothe the Savage Breast

The effect of music on your temporal balance. Or perhaps your temporal imbalance?
I'm enjoying delving into the subject! A selection of information worth sharing.
Such as this ( reading through it)

Musick has Charms to sooth a savage Breast,
To soften Rocks, or bend a knotted Oak.
I've read, that things inanimate have mov'd,
And, as with living Souls, have been inform'd,
By Magick Numbers and persuasive Sound.
What then am I? Am I more senseless grown
Than Trees, or Flint? O force of constant Woe!
'Tis not in Harmony to calm my Griefs.......

Jan at Gnostic Media has started a new series of shows with Hans Utter

UnSpun 083 – Dr. Hans Utter: “Temporal (Im)balance, Memory and Music”

I’m hooked!
Seriously, hooked. If you missed the whole batch of shows on Music, Mind Control and Psychobiology...what can I say, except, you missed a lot!
This new batch of shows on Temporal (im)balance, memory and music is already shaping up to be as informative if not more so!

Part 1 is here

Part 2 is embedded below:

The Burrough’s quote Hans read (Part 2) really stuck in my mind
I went off to find it- William Burroughs the consummate insider, despite his street reputation.

"And what would the future look like if such groups actually exist and if they do combine and take over? An elitist World State very much along the lines laid down by the Nazis. At the top would be a theocracy trained in psychic control techniques implemented by computerized electronic devices that would render opposition psychologically impossible. Entry to this privileged class would be permitted only to those whose dedication to the world state was absolute and unquestioning. In short, you don’t get in by merit or ability but by being an all around one hundred percent shit.”

The Adding Machine: Selected Essays. “Mind War” – William S. Burroughs (1985)

I see very many people entrained by computerized electronic devices every single day.  Not a one of them realizes they have been rendered inert, immobile and totally subservient via the control techniques delivered by the devices they willingly use to the extreme, daily. Enjoying their servitude?

The jimmy and bill show-  Jimmy being Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin fame. Bill being none other then William Burroughs- As I ; read through the interview, what really struck me was how aware both of these people were regarding the affects, effects the music had on the audience.

Since reading Dave McGowan's book on Laurel Canyon (RIP) and falling down the rabbit hole of the cooperation/collusion between the musical/military industrial complex the interview resonated very differently with me then it would have many years ago
"The Led Zeppelin show depends heavily on volume, repetition and drums.
It bears some resemblance to the trance music found in Morocco, which is magical in origin and purpose--that is, concerned with the evocation and control of spiritual forces. In Morocco, musicians are also magicians. Gnaoua music is used to drive out evil spirits. The music of Joujouka evokes the God Pan, Pan God of Panic, representing the real magical forces that sweep away the spurious. It is to be remembered that the origin of all the arts--music, painting and writing--is magical and evocative; and that magic is always used to obtain some definite result. In the Led Zeppelin concert, the result aimed at would seem to be the creation of energy in the performers and in the audience. For such magic to succeed, it must tap the sources of magical energy, and this can be dangerous."
Selected excerpts:
William Burroughs : "I found Jimmy Page equally aware of the risks involved in handling the fissionable material of the mass unconcious"
I turned to Jimmy Page: "Of course we are dealing here with meditation--
the deliberate induction of a trance state in a few people under the hands
of an old master. This would seem on the surface to have a little in common with a rock concert, but the underlying force is the same: human energy and its potential concentration." I pointed out that the moment when the stairway to heaven becomes something actually POSSIBLE for the audience, would also be the moment of greatest danger. Jimmy expressed himself as well aware of the power in mass concentration, aware of the dangers involved, and of the skill and balance needed to avoid them...rather like driving a load of nitroglycerine.
"There IS a responsibility to the audience," he said. "We don't want
anything bad to happen to these kids--we don't want to release anything we can't handle." We talked about magic and Aleister Crowley. Jimmy said that Crowley has been maligned as a black magician, whereas magic is neither white nor black, good nor bad--it is simply alive with what it is: the real thing, what people really feel and want and are. I pointed out that this "either/or" straitjacket had been imposed by Christianity when all magic became black magic; that scientists took over from the Church, and Western man has been stifled in a non-magical universe known as "the way things are." Rock music can be seen as one attempt to break out of this dead soulless universe and reassert the universe of magic.
How about releasing 'anything' the audience can't handle?

We talked about the special effects used in the concert. "Sure," he said,
"lights, lasers, dry ice are fine--but you have to keep some balance. The
show must carry itself and not rely too heavily on special effects, however spectacular," I brought up the subject of infra-sound, that is, sound pitched below 16 Hertz, the level of human hearing; as ultra-sound is above the level. Professer Gavreau of France developed infra-sound as a military weapon. A powerful infra-sound installation can, he claims, kill everyone in a five-mile radius, knock down walls and break windows. Infra-sound kills by setting up vibrations within the body so that, as Gavreau puts it, "You can feel all the organs in your body rubbing together." The plans for this device can be obtained from the French Patent Office, and infra-sound generators constructed from inexpensive materials. Needless to say, one is not concerned with military applications however unlimited, but with more interesting and useful possibilities, reaching much further that five miles.
Infra-sound sets up vibrations in the body and nervous system. Need these
vibrations necessarily be harmful or unpleasant? All music played at any
volume sets up vibrations in the body and nervous system of the listener.
That's why people listen to it. Caruso as you will remember could break a
champagne glass across the room. Especially interesting is the possibility
of rhythmic pulses of infra-sound; that is, MUSIC IN INFRA-SOUND. You can't hear it, but you can feel it.

Read the rest at the link-  Music is much more then most people understand it to be. That much is clear. Music/sound and lighting ups the game.
Finally... a commenter at Gnostic Media left a link to this video
Along the same line of Sound Manipulating Man- It's about 25 minutes in length and refers to some articles and books.

The Secret Power Music Holds Over You

Food for thought?
Sound for your brain management/ discord?
Music for your mind control?
Music for your emotional manipulation?

What a far reaching topic!

  1. .02 cents....worth/value ?

    Just sayin',

  2. That Burroughs quote is right on the nail, great find. I read a lot of Burroughs years ago and found all sorts of things were tucked away in his works. I remember him writing about the use of sound in asymmetric warfare and describing how that if there was civil unrest you could turn an already bad situation into a worse one by loudly broadcasting the sound of gunfire, so sound becomes a weapon of escalation. Wasn't there something about U.S. diplomats being made ill in Cuba recently from attack by sonic weapons?

The study of music is of course deeply interesting and there is much of the occult in it. The Music of the Sphere's, the relationship between maths, musical scales and the design and proportion of cathedrals and the encoding of scared geometry. Someone who talks about some of this stuff is the "electrical engineer" Eric Dollard who has in the past built some incredible sound systems and is a big fan of Bach and Handel. He has many videos on youtube, many of which are far beyond my comprehension mathmatically but he is an entertaining and intriguing character. His short video about the sun actually made me laugh rather a lot. It's possible that we have been misinformed by the scientific consensus. He disregards Einsteinian physics, has had a lot of grief for his troubles and has moved into a more involved study of music. It's such a big subject that it's difficult to know where to start. I can say that as a musician of nearly 40 years now that there's a huge difference between performing notes on an instrument and music. I have to confess that I'm distantly related to Jimmy Page, but I find his music generally lumpy and derivative, if not downright plagiaristic. Rock music although enjoyable enough is a very low form of music and can generate a lot of negativity. Witness the rave scene of the 90's as trance music goes hand in hand with Ecstasy and a generation is lobotomized. I knew people, DJs, who would take multiple hits of E and play dreadful music all night, many of whom are dead now or burned completely.

    1. Sorry, my paragraph breaks disappeared.

    2. no worries and thanks for the great comment and a new person to look into- Eric Dollard
yes, I had heard about the occurences in Cuba- interesting stuff?

Wish I had more free time to dig into it!

  3. Read up on DARPA research and HAARP research on resonance, brain waves, electromagnetic energy, remote transference of sound to skull, bones and brains even by pinpoint GPS-linked technology via satellite. Pardon the expression, but it will blow your mind. Begich's books are free online. Annie Jacobsen's book on "The Pentagon's Brain", Moreno's "MindWars" will get you underway.

    1. Thanks Ed(itor) hoping you got your troubles resolved?

  4. Oh my goodness, what a coincidence! (I don't believe in coincidences.) Over the last three evenings, I've been watching an interview with Jimmy Page hosted by The Guardian newspaper from about three years ago. Page mentioned that around 1970 (I think it was) Crawdaddy magazine got in touch with him and said Burroughs was interested in Led Zeppelin and wanted to interview Page. Jimmy was impressed by this as he was a fan of Burroughs work. I already knew this since I've been a big fan of Led Zep since I was 14. However, I look at the music and these connections in a different light given what I know now. I still love their music, though. :)

    1. Gwen "However, I look at the music and these connections in a different light given what I know now."

I know just what you mean Gwen :)

  5. Did you know that Jimmy Page was a contender in the race to write the soundtrack of the creepy Lucifer Rising movie from Kenneth Anger? It was the murderer Bobby Beausoleil who got the part in the end. I sent you a PM with details.

    1. gallier2

I listened to two minutes of that 20 minute plus and it is awful (Jimmy Page's music_ - I actually got a sense of foreboding/dread from it- that can't possibly be healthy for anyone to hear and I don't think I could listen to the rest.

      thanks for sending it nonetheless!

  6. Has this also included the entire 440hz vs 432hz matter

    1. Hi Kaz- this particular information hasn't covered the 440 htz vs 432 htz

      however, if I'm not mistaken..
I think that was discussed in the first series done by hans and jan
      might be in part 2?

      additional discussion:
