"Don’t Be An Idiot! Get Rid of Alexa!" James Corbett

Get rid of Alexa and all others like it.
I'd seen the news regarding this incident. Make no mistake this is exactly the point of Alexa.
I've one article saved that I will post below the James Corbett video.  Along with relinking another recent post on this very topic describing how your in home, payed for by you, spy bot can be controlled by others.

“A really efficient totalitarian state would be one in which the all-powerful executive of political bosses and their army of managers control a population of slaves who do not have to be coerced, because they love their servitude.” Aldous Huxley
Loving your own servitude....

Don't believe the spin about inadvertent- These devices are there to record everything in your home- Everything.

"Amazon is trying to brush the story off as “hey, that’s weird!” and in isolation, this bug doesn’t seem all that serious. But what this story reveals is how little we actually know about our smart speakers, what they’re recording that they shouldn’t be, and how often they listen in on conversations that they shouldn’t.

Nowhere in there is any data on how often things like this happen. Amazon, Google, and Apple don’t offer any data on false positives for its always-listening smart speakers, which is a terrifying prospect for our privacy. We’ve let always-on devices into our homes because we’ve been repeatedly promised that they’re not listening until they hear a “wake word,” like an obedient butler standing discreetly outside the room until summoned.

But as this event shows, we don’t really have a handle on what they’re listening to. Last October, an Android Police blogger found that his Google Home Mini was recording nearly everything he said and uploading it to Google’s servers, something he wouldn’t ever have known about if he wasn’t checking the activity log for his device. We don’t have any data on how often these kinds of false positives happen, and the mere fact that they can should be cause for concern.
Sure, you can manually use the mute switch on most devices to physically disable the microphone, but I think the common assumption with these devices is that they’re not listening until triggered, rather than that they’re always listening, but only sometimes choose to act on your words.
These devices are always listening, collecting data, on you and yours and sending it back to the 'mothership'.  You are willfully and intentionally allowing this to happen.
Please stop feeding the machine. Opt out.

Alexa and Siri Can Hear This Hidden Command. You Can’t.

  2. Hi Penny:

These devices were invented for one specific purpose...to capture, record, store and analyse the most golden of all "raw material"...the pure, uncensored and unedited opinions and proclivities of humanity as expressed in the "sanctity" and "safety" of their own homes. What we say to our partners and friends, when you reflect on it, is frequently a lot different than what we say publicly and/or to public opinion polls. It is even different from what sites we "click" on the Internet. This information, without a doubt, will ultimately be used against us. It will be taken and flung back at us in the form of mind-controlling advertisements, political messaging...thought policing laws.

Last Christmas when some of my family received these spy bots as gifts I warned them that this is what it was all about....and received that "deer caught in the headlights" look back in response. Of course.

And anyone who believe otherwise is a fool. A willing dupe. A ZOMBIE
Since I've always felt the zombie meme was how the elites viewed the masses--

  3. Funny how this kind of devices has exactly 0 appeal to me. i don't even can understand why someone would even want such a thing, and I'm quite the geek. I worked on embedded stuff and tinker at home around with Raspberry PI and what not, but this kind of things I always found suspicious. I have voice recognition in the car for handling the phone, there it's practical to some extent, but the limitation of the technology is quite noticeable, for us mixed language speakers. Reading German names from the list with a French voice recognition is doomed from the beginning.

I know what you mean about the zero appeal- in fact the idea of it horrifies me.

I expect some would say this is 'progress' to which I would say, yes it's a progression towards a total police state tyranny- it's a moving forward and those that have it are willing and paying for their own enslavement- it boggles my mind when I think about it!!!

  4. Gee... Another reason to hate Google.... Alexa is to me one step closer to that control that the Jewish pricks want on all of use... These insidious devices are "sold" on the idea that they will "make lives easier" but the reality is they are there as spy machines and to take away our privacy...

I am like you, and will NEVER have one of these in my household, period...

    1. Hey North!
I keep hoping more people wake up to the myriad of issues with this garbage in their homes- sadly, it seems to me most people are blissful in their slavery :(

  5. It seems like a lot of people are opting for the newest gadgets in the name of convenience and never consider the consequences.

One of the propaganda pictures that got to me showed two kids hovering over a glowing Alexa, fascinated, with mom smiling happily in the background. Forgot where I saw it.

Someone asked me not that long ago if it wouldn't be wonderful to be able to monitor ones electricity usage by installing smart devices. Well, if you do that, next thing you know is they'll turn off your AC or furnace because your using too much power. I think all this spying on people and data collection is definitely about control.

If you submit to using AI in your home someone else will determine if you are freezing or sweating given the way things are going. Shaking my head about the gullible goys taken in by the so-called progress of artificial intelligence.

    1. Hi MachtNichts- a new name here :)

"If you submit to using AI in your home someone else will determine if you are freezing or sweating given the way things are going. Shaking my head about the gullible goys taken in by the so-called progress of artificial intelligence. "

I like your choice of the word 'submit' it was perfect for this situation.
submit: "accept or yield to a superior force or to the authority or will of another person"

Exactly what one would expect slaves to do- submit

As for the "progress" in AI- does anyone ever ask

      what kind of progress?
why this progress as opposed to some other progress?
For who is this really progress?

I think people are very amused by these types of gadgets, perhaps they find them slightly entertaining- and that's what makes them so attractive- they appeal to that lower part of the brain- the reptilian brain that just wants to eat, drink and have fun- with out a thought to repercussions or consequences- the challenge is to get people past their instant gratification and into some real thinking about what these devices signify

  6. Agreed: I would NEVER have one of these. I even wonder about my phone, which I keep OFF most of the time, and in another room.

I'm even frustrated because some wordpress sites I follow (Northern Truthseeker, as one example) will only allow people with "garggle" accounts to comment. I won't have an account with them for the same reason I won't have an Alexa.

I get your frustration, believe me I do!
PS: I see you've started a new blog.
      That's a journey in itself!
