US Hits Turkey With Sanctions Over Operation Peace Spring

Whaaat? I thought the US 'green lighted' this operation? And removed their troops?
And betrayed the Kurds and blah, blah, blah. Rolling my eyes. Again.
Gotta stop with the eye rolling and annoyed sighing- How about a grumble and a grrrr....?

U.S. Imposes Sanctions On Turkish Ministers Over Syria Offensive
"The United States has imposed sanctions on Turkey's defense minister and two other ministers in response to Ankara's military assault on northeast Syria, as President Donald Trump called his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to demand an immediate cease-fire.
Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu, and Energy Minister Fatih Donmez were placed on the U.S. Treasury's sanctions blacklist, freezing their U.S. assets and banning U.S. or U.S.-related transactions with them.
The Defense and Energy ministries were also hit with sanctions, the Treasury said on October 14.
"The United States is holding the Turkish government accountable for escalating violence by Turkish forces, endangering innocent civilians, and destabilizing the region," Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said.
U.S. Vice President Mike Pence said Trump called for an immediate cease-fire in Syria during a phone call with Erdogan. Pence said he would soon travel to the region in an effort to mediate the crisis that has seen more than 160,000 civilians flee their homes in the area.

Turkey launched the attack last week with the declared aim to push the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) from the border region. Turkey regards the Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG), which is the largest militia in the SDF, as a terrorist organization.
"The United States of America simply is not going to tolerate Turkey's invasion in Syria any further. We are calling on Turkey to stand down, end the violence and come to the negotiating table," Pence told reporters"
Globe and Mail: Moscow's Allies Advance in Syria

So, no green light then? Exactly as was stated here 8 days ago. As other disinfo spinners in the 5 eyes alt/msm claimed otherwise? Think about that fact.
Trump also said he would soon issue an executive order to end negotiations with Ankara on a $100 billion trade agreement and boost tariffs on Turkish steel to 50 percent in response to the country's offensive on northeastern Syria.
"I am fully prepared to swiftly destroy Turkey's economy if Turkish leaders continue down this dangerous and destructive path," Trump said in a statement on October 14, after the United States, the Syrian Kurds' main ally, announced it would withdraw troops from the country.

  1. I'm following the situation as closely as possible.

Please think about the entire presentation of this situation. The imperialists are remaking the region.
This is clear to those with eyes willing to see.
The level of mis/disinfo spread far and wide is necessary to muddy the waters and ensure that the agenda stays obscured.
    be aware. be vigilant. think.

  2. Penny. This is very valuable info. Your remaining logical and not jumping the gun on all the disinformation abound. Keep it up. Your analysis is one of the most focused out there.

  4. Hi Abdullah:

The whole green light phrase is annoying because in some ways I do think the US wanted Turkey to enter Syria. You and I discussed this-

But not because they are on board with the Turkish plan, rather because they are opposed to the Turkish plan. And are wanting to trap and grind Turkey down.

I've seen the claims that manbij is 'controlled' by SAA, but, haven't seen much of anything to validate it.
RT was reporting that but no link back to original source
I'm a stickler for original source

It's the same as the globe and mail headline

"Moscow's Ally (Turkey) Advances in Syria"
That's loaded- and the G& M is employing that headline to demonzie Turkey and Russia together.

Saw a headline did the sultan learn from the tsar or the other way around- but makes no difference this is words used to influence perceptions- There is zero sense in calling Erdogan or Putin/Sultan or Tsar.

    Leaving, but not really leaving

(WASHINGTON) –– A U.S. official says the approximately 1,000 U.S. troops being withdrawn from northern Syria will reposition in Iraq, Kuwait and possibly Jordan.

The official spoke to The Associated Press on Tuesday on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive planning for a U.S. pullout amid heavy fighting between Turkish and Syrian Kurdish forces.
The (unnnamed) official says the American troops have pulled out of the Manbij area, where U.S. outposts were set up in 2017. (Outposts were set up before 2017) Troops are consolidating their positions to prepare to fly out of the country soon.

The official says U.S. troops based in Iraq could conduct cross-border operations against the Islamic State group in Syria as they did before creating the now-abandoned partnership with Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces.

That's how I see it too...Gulen has always been their main objective for far too long. Using the words of these liars..."I'm confident" Turkey allied with Russia/Syria/Iran will hopefully kick NATO into the long awaited trash dump where it belongs. It's coming! Good job Penny!

    1. Hi wallflower: this is far from over.

You see this as a grinding down of Turkey too?
I think that's the reason for the 'green light' not all the other rubbish that's being spread around

    1. Hi sorcerer: What ever money they use is undoubtedly the easiest currency to trade in for them. But what it is, I don't know.
