News in a Nutshell

The US and Czech republic sign missile shield agreement, though 2/3 of Czechs oppose deployment of the radar system.

2/3 of the public oppose the deployment and yet the government still signs, that must be what is known as democracy in action, right?

What a coup this is for the arms manufacturers in the US, (military industrial complex). I didn't think any of these shields really worked all that well, for the money spent.

Of course, if one thought the Georgian crisis was gone and forgotten, it isn't!

There in the midst of it all, is Condoleeza Rice: Who shows up making accusations, and pointing fingers, all good signs for 'peace'.

Of course the rhetoric increases with regard to Iran, with Iran testing more missiles,
and Israel to show a plane that can spy on Iran and there again is Condolezza Rice, playing 'peacekeeper', with her admonishment "Iran should not be "confused" about US capabilities.", well really, why the hell does she think that Iran is confused? I think Iran is quite aware of US capabilities, hence the testing of missiles.

Meanwhile back in the USA, while Condoleeza is sowing the seeds of peace world-wide, mortgage defaults in the US take a huge jump! U.S. Foreclosures Rose 53% in June, Bank Seizures Almost Triple
