Luka Magnotta: Starting with a US Lawyer and ending.....

The title of the post has been changed to reflect the changing content.

The big news in Canada? Body parts. Porn Stars. Snuff films and murder.
There is something seriously off about this bit of  news. Seriously off.
A lawyer from the US got a conscience and attempted to notify Canadian police about the snuff film posted on line?

Why would a lawyer who obviously partakes in this type of stuff suddenly get a conscience?

Lawyer accuses Toronto police of ignoring alleged murder video tip

I am quoting the lawyer below: Read the rest of the story at the above link.

Roger Renville, a U.S.-based lawyer, says that on May 26 and May 27, he warned police stations in Toronto, Denver and Miami of a video posted on a website that shares gory content with its viewers.

“The video is horrific and the comments associated with the site prepared the viewer a little but . . . watching the video, I was both horrified and shocked,” he told Global News.

Where the hell does one even find a site such as that? A site that shares gory content? Unless your in to that stuff? And if your into this garbage, to the extent that you know where to look and find it, why would you get all horrified and shocked?

The alleged Lawyer continues:

“I started doing some snooping online and by late evening (Saturday), I had come across the clues that linked (the video) to the name and Luka Magnotta is notorious on the Internet... ” Renville said, noting that the most recent postings pointed his whereabouts to Toronto.

Started snooping? Snooping for what?  Was he titillated? I don't know? Why was he snooping when by all information he is very well aware of who Luka Magnotta is.

"Luka Magnotta is notorious on the Internet"
 News to me?
"I came across clues that linked the video to the name Luka Magnotta."
Came across clues?

Until this case hit the main stream news, this person was non-existent, anywhere.
How is it that this alleged Lawyer, who peruses sites that contain Gory content, is aware of Luka Magnotta's notoriety on line? Aware of him enough, to connect him to the video?

Also: The alleged lawyer is a buying customer of the website that features the snuff film.
Apparently access to the website, I am not naming, is by membership only.

Clearly the alleged lawyer Roger Renville was a paying member, which means he "got off" on all kinds of sick garbage.

Then he contacts the police?
Risking exposing himself as a  sick degenerate individual ? Possibly ruining his public reputation as a lawyer?

He said the officer insisted the video must be a fake and that special effects can be convincing.
Still, Renville said he understands that officers may have been baffled by his call.

“I heard how I sounded. There’s a murder in a video on the Internet... he asked me how do I know (Magnotta’s) name. I started to say, ‘Well, he’s been on the Internet for years, and he’s killed kittens,” he said.

So the lawyer pervert Roger Renville, has  known of  Magnotta is "for years". He knows as one sicko to another that Magnotta has previously "killed kittens" on line.

The lawyers tale just doesn't make sense. At all.

And this?

"By Monday night, Renville said he was “so frustrated” his wife had to calm him down, but on Tuesday, Renville noticed reports about a torso in Montreal and severed limbs –

His wife, if he actually has one, should get him some psychiatric help. What was he so "frustrated" about?

Incredibly, he goes to the media with his story?!
He is a sicko, he goes to the media, the media doesn't question his narrative?

I wonder if this story has caught Dave McGowan's eye yet?

Tidbit: Mr Eric Clinton Newman aka Luka Magnotta converted to Scientology
(anyone playing the Mkultra game is fully aware of the connections of Scientology to the human experimentation, mind control, cult  goings on that was especially abundant in the California area)
Tidbit # 2: Mr Eric Clinton Newman aka Luka Magnotta is very familiar with the Peterborough, Ontario neck of the woods.

Peterborough and Lindsay residents should keep their eyes out for Magnotta as he feels comfortable in both communities.
We're going to take a trip down memory lane. To recall a dungeon house that was conveniently and totally destroyed, contents and evidence cleansed by fire roughly 6 months ago,  in Pickering, Ontario Approximately,  a 1 hour drive away from communities where Newman/Magnotta "feels comfortable"

This is speculative, but given his connection to the area and the act of dismemberment, one can't help but wonder if there was a connection to the mysterious dungeon house and it's equally mysterious fire.

The dungeon house and fire was covered over three posts
Part 1:  The Dungeon house, cleansed by fire, stands no more.
Part 2: The dungeon house, the fire and the questions
Part 3: Video Equipment at the Dungeon House

Are loose ends being tied up?

Canadian murder suspect arrested in Berlin

German newspaper Bild has reported 29-year-old Canadian "porn actor' Luka Rocco Magnotta was arrested in Berlin. Magnotta is accused of videotaping a gruesome murder before posting it to the Internet.

Quote "So far, there is little evidence Luka Rocco Magnotta was a prominent gay porn star, a legitimate model or that he ever dated serial killer Karla Homolka"

The problem of  little or no evidence has never stopped the main stream media from creating a narrative

Back to the news of an arrest- Police sources confirm Magnotta was arrested Monday in an internet café in Berlin's Neukölln district.
Berlin Prosecutors' spokesperson Martin Steltner told the Associated Press news agency that a man wanted on an international arrest warrant was arrested in an Internet café, but would not confirm the identity of the person apprehended.
An international arrest warrant was issued by Canadian authorities on first-degree murder. He is suspected of killing 33-year-old Jun Lin, a Chinese university student he dated, and then mailing the victim's dismembered body parts to Canadian government agencies.
More to come.

More on the backtracking that began yesterday:
All weekend it was non stop story telling, to suck the irrational audience in.

- Montreal police backtracked Thursday on comments they had made confirming alleged killer Luka Rocco Magnotta had dated Karla Homolka

-Timing would have been difficult. Homolka was released in July 2005 and lived in Montreal, while Magnotta is only known to have been in this city for the last four months. She was apparently dating Thierry Bordelais during that time, had a child with him, and then moved to the Caribbean about December 2007, tired of being hounded by Montreal media.

Five years from when Homolka was last resident in Montreal to Magnotta/Newman taking up residence in Montreal. Why did the Montreal Police "confirm" a connection???

Magnotta/Newman filed for bankruptcy in 2007

-Accused killer Luka Magnotta was an unemployed server with no reported income when he declared bankruptcy in 2007.
-The bankruptcy documents filed in Mississauga, Ont., do little to support Magnotta/Newman alleged internet boasting
-The bankruptcy was fully discharged in December 2007.

On the surface, it appears there's strong circumstantial evidence against Magnotta, Hale said Monday.
Asked about the intense publicity the case has received in Canada, Rosen said the media has "significantly prejudiced" Magnotta's right to a fair trial. While that won't prevent a trial from happening, it will mean that jurors have to be vetted carefully to ensure they haven't formed an opinion, he said.

"You got me" Thanks HHQ for leaving this news article

"With the help of Magnotta's cell phone signal, police had traced him to a hotel in the Parisian suburb of Bagnolet which they visited Saturday on a tip-off from a witness"
He didn't discard the cellphone?

The murder came to light when Canadian police said Tuesday that a human foot had been sent to the headquarters of Canada's ruling Conservative Party.

A hand was later found in the mail at an Ottawa post office, and a torso was discovered in Montreal. Canadian police believe the remains belong to a man who was dating Magnotta - and that Magnotta is to blame.
The connection of the foot to the victim in Montreal should be confirmed via forensics. Has it been?
"Canadian police believe"?
Will this belief be backtracked on at a later date?
This individual was living in some dive in Montreal... How was he able to fly from Canada to France, then make his way to Germany, where he was taken down quite quietly in an Internet Cafe ?

UPDATE # 3- June 6/2012

Back to where this all started last week. The lawyer and the online video. It was the lawyer that connected Newman/Magnotta to the killing of the Concordia student. He claims he was able to do so by watching an online video on a so called Gore website.
I have not seen the video. Nor do I intend to.
The brain, like the body, is best served a healthy diet.
That's right.. Garbage in, Garbage out.
If you fill your brain with garbage, you will only be capable of garbage thoughts, which will result in garbage actions. That is how the brain works.
Rant over!

Let's get back to the film. The police claim they have the film in question and it is the correct film.
So, let's read a description of the film

"The video entitled “1 lunatic 1 ice pick” shows a person in a black hoodie stabbing an Asian man multiple times. The hooded figure later dismembers the body and commits sexual acts with the severed remains."
Man in  a hoodie. Hooded figure commits crime.

From this article

A person dressed in a purple hooded jacket or sweater, leaning over while holding what appears to be an ice pick. His or her face is mostly obscured — the only details that can be made out are the individual’s light skin, dark hair of cheekbone length and a poster for the movie Casablanca on the wall.

How was the connection made from a hooded figure with an obscured face to Newman/Magnotta?

Posting on the gore website says this

“Thorough investigation by the Best Gore community lead to an assumption that the 1 Lunatic 1 Ice Pick perpetrator could be a renowned cat killer and internet attention whore Luka Magnotta,” the website reads.
Also noticing the media is using the term alleged video that connects... They were not using the word alleged over the weekend.

Body parts appeared in British Columbia, which isn't really all that startling, as they appear on beaches and along the coast quite regularly. This time the parts were mailed to two schools. The media is spinning a possible connection to the Magnotta/Newman case.  Is there? Is there not? Assume nothing.

Magnotta/Newman "fearing for his life"

Luka Rocco Magnotta's German court-appointed lawyer says her client is "afraid he will be attacked by other prisoners" inside a Berlin jail because media reports make him out to be a "really, really bad person."
Magnotta has been transferred to an old Berlin prison where he is kept separate from other prisoners 23 hours a day, Evelyn Ascher told the CBC in an interview.

The lawyer also told reporters that Magnotta was "nice and polite" and didn't seem like the "psychopath" she read about.

Magnotta, 29, was transferred to a Berlin prison Tuesday after spending a night in a police station holding cell following his arrest Monday. He was arrested by seven Berlin police officers after an internet cafe employee spotted the fugitive reading stories about himself online.
UPDATE  # 4- JUNE 9/2012

The lack of details on the victims family are quite shocking.
No idea who they are. That is odd.
The fact that he is a foreign student here indicates to me he is from a well to do family.
The media suggests otherwise, but, that doesn't make sense. Tuition for foreign students is, at a bare minimum, 3 to 4 times the cost, of what it is for the domestic student.
From Concordia

The fees, payable to the University for the regular session of two terms commencing in September
and concluding in April, are approximately $18,220 to $21,688 for a full‑time student. This amount
includes tuition fees for 30 credits; compulsory fees which include student services, recreation and
athletics, technology infrastructure, copyright and association and activity fees; administration fee;
registration fees; and the health insurance premium. This estimate does not include the cost of
textbooks or living expenses.
Please refer to the Tuition and Fees website at for
information concerning the payment of tuition and fees.

A Chinese family with the money to send a son to school in another country is an affluent family.
His job at the store, part time, was likely for some extra spending money... perhaps over and above what he was provided with by his parents or someone?

Here is an interview with a friend of Lin Jun.

Curious coincidence The friend was in France when  Lin Jun went missing.

When Lin went missing, his friend that gave the interview to CBC, was in France. In Paris, if I am not mistaken. And where does Magnotta/Newman fly to, after allegedly committing this crime? He flies to France. Paris, France. Where it is reported he meets with at least two people. One known as "collusus" One unnamed.
Briefly recapping

Using cellphone signals along with witnesses and video surveillance, police in Paris zeroed in on a series of apartments, hotels and bars

He also stayed in the Bastille neighbourhood and in the Clichy-la-Garenne district with a friend, who called police after hearing of the manhunt, according to the French newspaper Le Figaro.

Who was the friend? Could it have been Lin's friend Matty? I don't know? It's possible.
Then we have another individual-
He was in the company of a large man the paper nicknamed La Colosse – colossus.
Back to the narrative from the only friend that spoke to the media-

Matty told Finnerty that he was in France when Lin went missing. His other friends reported him missing to police, but they initially told them not to worry.
It was only when they (the friends?) saw the video of Lin's dismemberment on the internet that they identified him as the victim. They (they who?)contacted police once again to tell them of their discovery.

The  friend :
"In the circles he hung around in – a lot of his friends are from rich families in China, and are sent over, their families support them," said Finnerty. "[Justin's] mom is in Wuhan and does not have a lot of money"
His friends are all from rich families..... But Lin Jun's mom doesn't have a lot of money?

Recall the cost of the tuition. Recall the fact that he only worked part time in a convenience store.
If his mom does not have money. How about his dad? Or was he getting money elsewhere?

Then as if to answer the question everyone is asking "Why the lack of information on Lin Jun?"

"Finnerty told me that one reason there have been few reports on Lin's life is suspicion of the media among his friends. "It is very difficult to get [his friends] to step forward," Finnerty said. "It's been next to impossible to speak to his family. His mother and father and one uncle are here, but they haven't spoken to the media. None of the friends have either, that I know of."

I find the lack of information really curious.

 One last thing....

"None of Lin's friends had ever met the murder suspect, Luka Magnotta, or ever heard Lin speak of him, Finnerty said."

Shabiha: The fantasy and reality of Syria's "ghost fighters"

The “Shabiha” in Syria have been getting a whole lot of media coverage that past few days.
I noticed an increased reporting, once again,  of their ghostly existence right after the NATO terrorists massacred civilians in Houla.

The narrative of the Shabiha is not a new one. It emerged about a year back. The narrative was given birth to by the “activists”.  And, the Syrian Human Rights Council, you know the one based in Britain? The one that has a direct line to the BBC spin department? Yes, that BBC,  one of the best known UK propaganda outlets.

I covered the Shabiha in a previous post: Ghost fighters haunt Syria

look at my scary ghostfighter. Boo!

The information for the previous posting came from the BBC. Using the search engine link, here, you can see that the BBC had an article that corresponds with the date of my earlier post and then an updated version. The updated version appears right after the Houla massacre.

So, the Shabiha narrative is being promoted yet again. Like any other fictional narrative it hits all the right notes, mystery, suspense, drama, intrigue. Riveting.

No on really knows who they are. No one knows where they come from.

Like much else out of Syria, it is simply  more spin to draw the gullible in and justify the desired for NATO attack.

The Shabiha narrative was created by the “opposition”, and is promoted by the usual lying media to manage your perception on what is really going on in Syria.
The Shabiha, give cover to the NATO backed terrorists and their slaughter of Syrian civilians. They have from the first media mention all the way through to the most recent media mention

Two very telling sentences that give this charade away come from both the BBC and the other lying media outlet The Guardian.

BBC: “There were even reports that soldiers and police who tried to stop shabiha killing civilians in Tell Kalakh and elsewhere had been shot dead”

The Shabiha reportedly kills soldiers and police. Who else kills soldiers and police?

The Guardian. (This one is a real gem!):
”Businessmen, many of them Sunni and not Alawite, who are now quietly passing money to the shabiha, mainly to protect their lucrative business privileges, but also to keep their political sponsors happy.Sunni “business men”, NOT Alawite, are funding the shabiha?! To keep their political sponsors happy.?!
What political sponsors are being referenced? ? Who are the political sponsors these Sunni business men "are keeping happy"? A happiness that requires them to fund  the Shabiha?!

Has Saudi Arabia popped into your head yet? Because that’s the nation name that spontaneously burst into my brain.

Sunni “business men” funding the Shabiha, have everything to do with FSA, Alquaeda, NATO and absolutely zero to do with Assad or his government.

The mainstream media is, as usual, lying on behalf of NATO. The deaths squads are real. People are being killed. At the behest of NATO/ GCC nations and Israel.

Israeli Minister 'hints' Israel behind Flame virus

Israel & the Flame
A senior Israeli minister said on Tuesday the use of cyberweapons to counter Iran's nuclear plans would be "reasonable," hinting at Israel's possible involvement in unleashing the newly uncovered Flame virus.

"For anyone who sees the Iranian threat as significant, it is reasonable that he would take different steps, including these, in order to hobble it," Moshe Yaalon, the vice prime minister, told Israeli army radio, just hours after the Flame virus was discovered by Russia's Kaspersky Lab.

"Israel is blessed with being a country which is technologically rich, and these tools open up all sorts of possibilities for us," said Yaalon, who is also Israel's strategic affairs minister.
Cyber warfare. Killing Scientists. False Flags in India and Thailand.
Israel's concept of what is 'reasonable' is quite strange.

William Lyon MacKenzie King- Rockefeller's 'other' PR Man

Last week I relinked the book Rockefeller Medicine Men

It is said that those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
I agree with that thought.  Though it would be a more valid and applicable statement if we had any real knowledge of history.

Keeping that in mind. I had to wonder why it was not common knowledge that long serving Prime Minister of Canada, William Lyon MacKenzie King, was a PR man for JD Rockefeller ?

If it was not for reading the aformentioned book, I would never have known.

A nifty little pdf if your interested in some real Canadian or American history, for that matter

W.L. Mackenzie King: Rockefeller’s ‘other’ public relations counselor in Colorado

This study profiles William Lyon Mackenzie King’s role as a counselor to John D. Rockefeller
Jr. in the aftermath of the bitter 1913–1914 Colorado coal strike. Mackenzie King—not his more recognized counterpart, publicist Ivy Lee—provided many of the modern public relations ideas that Rockefeller eventually adopted to alleviate tensions and improve labor relations.

W. L. MacKenzie King would become Canada's Prime Minister, just seven years after this fortuitous job opportunity.

"Right Honourable"? As if a PR man is ever honourable!

The coal strike being referenced is none other then the notorious Ludlow bloodbath

Woody Guthrie recounts in song. Very effectively.

William Lyon MacKenzie was the PR man that smoothed this massacre over for the Rockefeller's

Massive Targeted CyberAttack- mostly striking Iran- Flame

And it appears to be state sponsored! Flame.

A complex targeted virus has been discovered stealing data in the Middle East, security researchers announced today.
The malware -- dubbed Flame -- has been operation since 2010 and appears to be a state sponsored, Kaspersky Labs said today, but it was not sure of its origins. Flame is designed to steal information about targeted systems and stored files as well as computer display contents and audio conversations.
"The complexity and functionality of the newly discovered malicious program exceed those of all other cyber menaces known to date," Kaspersky Labs said in statement announcing the malware's discovery.

The virus is about 20 times the size of Stuxnet, malware that targeted the controls of an Iranian nuclear facility. The largest concentration of infected machines is in Iran, followed by Israel/Palestine region, Sudan, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

"The preliminary findings of the research, conducted upon an urgent request from ITU, confirm the highly targeted nature of this malicious program," Kasperky Labs' chief expert Alexander Gostev said in a statement. "One of the most alarming facts is that the Flame cyber-attack campaign is currently in its active phase, and its operator is consistently surveilling infected systems, collecting information and targeting new systems to accomplish its unknown goals."

"The Flame malware looks to be another phase in this war, and it's important to understand that such cyber weapons can easily be used against any country," Kaspersky said in a statement. "Unlike with conventional warfare, the more developed countries are actually the most vulnerable in this case."

Additional Reading- Iran targeted by Flame

The virus, named Flame or Skywiper, could only have been created by a state, according to analysts who have investigated it and the pattern of infection.
The results of our technical analysis support the hypotheses that Flame or Skywiper was developed by a government agency of a nation state with significant budget and effort, and it may be related to cyber warfare activities”

Massacre in Syria: False flag to achieve military intervention?

I abhor the loss of life in Syria or anywhere for that matter.
So many civilians have died. Lives ruined.
But that has not stopped NATO previously, nor will it now.
Blood feeds that organization. Like the bloodsucking/life stealing world army that it is....

The news of the massacre in Houla, Syria seemed to really hit the ground running yesterday- Saturday May 26/12  .Today, Sunday May 27,  the cacophony of calls for foreign intervention have hit their crescendo...
Who has wanted foreign intervention all along? Not the majority of Syrians. Not the Syrian government. Let's look at the news that preceded the massacre.

There is no mention of massacre in this article from Friday May 25/2012
The blame game begins as UN peace plan falters

The conclusion had been made. The Plan has failed. Who would want that to happen?

As the United Nations peace plan for Syria flounders toward failure, a U.S.-Russian blame game has begun. The Americans “skeptical” from the beginning. The Russians blaming armed terrorists.

Judgement Day
“Both sides will seek to draw on evidence from the ground to make their arguments before Annan formally declares his plan dead. Judgment day may come on July 21/12, when the 90-day observer mission ends, or sooner if any of the unarmed monitors is killed or injured in a conflict in which the opposition is increasingly relying on tactics such as suicide bombings.

Judgement day would come sooner if something drastic happened. Such as a UN monitor being killed? Well, that had been tried and failed.
What if there was a horrific massacre?  Cue- one horrific massacre

Let's go back on day further to May 24/12 and see what we all missed.

Aha! A freshly released UN report that would have bolstered Syria's claims. Claims of armed terrorists wreaking havoc in the country . A UN report had been released on Thursday May 24/12 that indicated persons were being killed by armed terrorists as well as Security Forces.Obviously the Security forces would have to kill terrorists. What is significant was that the UN report indicated people were dying at the hands of terrorists, armed terrorists.

The opposition was found to have captured and tortured soldiers and used children as messengers for life- threatening deliveries into Turkey. (Just your average bunch of ‘nice’ guys, right?) The report describes actions by increasingly well-organized fighters planting mines, making homemade bombs and putting nails in pipes with explosive powder. There are six documented cases of explosions in which civilians were killed.

While the commission said it wasn’t able to verify who was responsible, it listed the bombings under abuses committed by anti-government forces.

A UN report that backed up what Assad had claimed all along. What Russia has claimed all along. What China had claimed all along. Scandalous! You knew that was not going to see the light of day.

“Russia will be able to draw ammunition to frame its case from a UN investigation that documents human rights abuses by armed opposition groups “

That was before the massacre occurred. Who benefited from not having the news of human rights abuses by the armed opposition get out to the public? Not the Syrians. Not the Syrian government. Not the Russians. Not the Chinese. Who benefits from the massacre? What Next?

Once the (Annan) plan is formally recognized as a failure, he said, the discussion will shift to what should come next. “Given the chasm between Russian and American goals and viewpoints, the likely outcome is more gridlock in the UN Security Council, said Andrew Tabler, a fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, a policy group.
Another veto at the UN? If the West even bothers to go this route?
“Once the Annan plan is declared a failure, “I don’t see the political process at the end of it,” Tabler said.”
Tabler, a fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy does not see a political process after the demise of the Annan Plan. Does he see a military one? Who has wanted a military solution for so long?

Conveniently, or ominously the FSA had this to say-
Killings in Houla and elsewhere are taking place “under the eyes of the UN observers,” the FSA said, urging the international community to “announce the failure of the Annan plan.”

Announce the failure of the Annan Plan! Once declared dead there will not be a political process..
Who benefits from the massacre? Who wants to hasten the demise of Syria?
Not the Syrians. Not the Syrian Government. Not Russia or China.

Only the West/NATO/Israel/GCC benefit from the massacre. The aforementioned have all along wanted a military solution. The FSA is armed and ready to slaughter for their paymasters in NATO. It is well known that weapons have been funneling through to the terrorists via Lebanon, via Jordan, via Turkey, via Libya. The Saudi’s are financing weapons. France is financing. The US is financing weapons flow to the terrorists

Just a few previous posts covering this (if you have been following along for a while you can bypass them if you wish)

Additional interesting and very relevant reading

Syria: Massacre in Houla – Who benefits from this massacre?

FSA will no longer comply with ceasefire, but they have never done it. False-Flag massacres to achieve a military intervention?

The innocent victims were shot or stabbed, but by whom is the important question. That the external Syrian opposition, e.g. based in Istanbul, the terrorist “Free Syrian Army” (FSA) and the West immediately know whom to condemn for this massacre, is no surprise and was to be expected. Also the representation of the Syrian government in the capital Damascus was to be expected, but what has really happened in al-Houleh (al-Houlah / Houla), Syria?

Considering the approaches of the so-called Syrian opposition and the Western media in recent months, it was no question that these sides will blame the Syrian government and President Bashar al-Assad for all violence within Syria. Also this time, there was no search for any evidence; the reports with immediate blame-assignments were published quickly, without including any facts.

Lengthy piece. Worth reading in full.

When the question to who benefits from the massacre is answered, that answer points directly to the perpetrator/s.

Canadians: Let your pots and pans clang and bang!!

In the Middle East they have shoe throwing.
The people of Quebec have taken up banging pots and pans in protests against state sponsored tyranny, specifically this is being done to protests the tyrannical Bill 78 and the kettling of the students.

Pot banging as a form of civil disobedience has a long history. First originating in Chile The pots-and-pans protest has its roots in Chile, where people have used it for years as an effective, peaceful tool to express civil disobedience. The noisy cacerolazo tradition actually predates the Pinochet regime in Chile, but has endured there and spread to other countries as a method of showing popular defiance.
Canada is so messed up right now, it is time for Canadians to unite. As one group of people and bang your pots and pans!

Beside police state Quebec. Canada is facing austerity. Sadly, the people are largely taking it lying down.
Except for the people of Quebec. The only Canadians with any courage and fortitude.
They are out enmasse. And the discontent is growing. The populace is supportive and is out banging their pots and pans.

"People took up the percussive protest Thursday night in several towns and cities including Sorel, Longueuil, Chambly, Repentigny, Trois-Rivieres and even in Abitibi — several hundred kilometres away from the hot spot of Montreal.

People tapped the pots as they walked, the sounds mingling with shouts and chants. Others leaned out of car windows to bang their pans and one protester smacked a pot right in front of one police officer who looked on indifferently."

As for the rest of Canada?
-The age to collect your paid for pension has been increased.
- EI is being changed to make it more difficult to collect at a time when unemployment is high
EI is paid for by Canadian workers and their employees.
The government of the day is using the funds to pad their account books and pushing the costs of unemployment onto the lower levels of government.
-Foreign workers are being brought in to drive wages down
The Conservative Government- the Feds, are also allowing foreign workers to be brought into the country (imported)  to work at a lower pay rate (slavery) then would be paid to a Canadian worker.
The EI changes and Foreign workers allowances work in tandem to lower wages and increase impoverishment for all.
-The Internet snooping bill- Again, the Federal government is bringing in what can be construed as nothing less them big brother tyranny. Canadians are going to pay to be spied upon.
To really put it in your face, to say to Canadians "FU all", your going to pay for this spying, on yourself.
-Increased military spending
Stay tuned for cuts to healthcare- because they are coming....

How much more are the Canadian people going to take?
Perhaps soon your government can "kettle" you all the way to some cozy concentration camp/psychiatric incarceration, that will be called a rehabilitative centre.
Kettling = Corraling
Like when the herd is taken for slaughter.

All this will be done for your own good, of course. Your government wants you to be safe.

"Lawful access legislation"- Not.

Canada: Bang your pots and pans! Bang them loud and bang them hard!

US poised to supply arms to Syrian Terrorists, ooops I mean "rebels"

Not like they haven't been all along!

The Obama administration is preparing a plan that would essentially give U.S. nods of approval to arms transfers from Arab nations to some Syrian opposition fighters.

Recall: SNC resignation & War: Guns for terror. Warning Iran & the Nuclear Spectre

Syrian rebels battling the regime of President Bashar Al Assad have begun receiving significantly more and better weapons in recent weeks, an effort paid for by Gulf nations and coordinated in part by the United States, according to opposition activists and US and foreign officials.

For whatever reason the US is choosing to tell the world they are arming the terrorists in Syria.

These arms are going straight to 'Alqueda', Alciaduh, or Almossadah and other NATO allied terrorists.

The US is clearly looking to foment sectarian violence. The US clearly wants Sunni's to slaughter Shiites.

Why do I say that? Because the US denies that is the reason. Therefore you know it is exactly the hoped for outcome!

The vetting would be the first tiny step the U.S. has made toward ensuring that the Syrian opposition uses the weapons to fight Assad and not to turn it into a full sectarian conflict.

By some accounts,  nations already have begun to ship weapons with tacit U.S. agreement. In Turkey, private businessmen have begun funneling weapons into Syria.

Libya's new rulers, fresh from their own revolution that toppled longtime dictator Moammar Gadhafi, have pledged support for the Syrian rebels, but actually transferring weapons is tricky. Last month, Lebanese authorities seized a ship carrying rocket-propelled grenades and heavy-caliber ammunition, possibly bound for Syrian rebels.

The fighters' attempts to bring in heavier arms that could change the course of the 15-month-old uprising so far have been stymied at every turn, even by countries sympathetic to the revolt. All are wary of being drawn into the fight.

The rebels have cast a wide net, contacting weapons dealers in Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia and Azerbaijan.
And they openly admit they have the smuggling lines into Syria

Washington's supplies of communications equipment and medical supplies to opposition members it has approved are already under way, Officials said that those supplies can now be easily augmented with weapons from other donors.

"Smuggling lines are smuggling lines. We use the same donkeys," said one, pointing out that the routes are essentially the same for bandages as they are for bullets.

For the ordinary Syrians, this is going to go from very bad to even worse.

Related to Syria and Iran-

Wultz family of Weston gets 322 million dollars  in suit again Syria and Iran
The family of Daniel Wultz, the Weston teenager killed six years ago in a suicide bombing at a Tel Aviv restaurant, won a $332 million court judgment against the governments of Syria and Iran A U.S. district court judge on Monday ordered the judgment in a lawsuit brought by the family of the 16-year-old who was one of 11 people killed in the April 17, 2006 blast.

Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the bombing. The judgment was the first courtroom victory against Syria for the law group that represents victims of Palestinian violence. The group has won previous courtroom victories against Iran

An American attorney representing Syria said in court papers that the lawsuit should be thrown out on the grounds of "sovereign immunity."

But U.S. District Court Judge Royce Lamberth said in his ruling: "When a state chooses to use terror as a policy tool, as Iran and Syria continue to do, the state forfeits its sovereign immunity and deserves unadorned condemnation."

So how about when Israel and the US choose to use terror as policy? Will there be lawsuits from  Libya, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Laos and on and on and on and on and on...

R. Gordon Wasson: Magic Mushrooms and the Psychedelic Revolution

R Gordon Wasson. Who here has heard of him, besides me? I know some of you have!

According to Wikipedia he was an author, ethnomycologist and VP for J.P Morgan.
A Banker (what!)  who was interested in intoxicating mushrooms.
I had first come across the name when I heard him connected to the JFK assassination.
A banker, a mushroom afficionado ,connected to a Presidential assassination?!?!
How does all that connect?
Because on the surface, it doesn't seem to.
As is often the case it is below the surface the connections lie hidden.

Kudos to Jan @ Gnostic Media for making a compelling case that R Gordon Wasson had much more then just a innocent or purely curious interest in magic mushrooms and was a bit more involved with the intelligence agenda then is commonly understood

Quoting from Jan's place here:

"We’re going to reveal how the psychedelic revolution was launched by the CFR, CIA and the elite, and how R. Gordon Wasson, the so called discoverer of magic mushrooms, and the founder of the field of ethnomycology, was himself a government asset, a friend of Edward Bernays – the father of propaganda, and is one of the key figures for launching one of the largest mind control operations in history – information never before revealed until today"

None of this should come as a surprise for those who are familiar with the Mkultra experiments, LSD, mind control, Operation midnight climax, yes, that was it's name.

Oh and can't forget the Laurel Canyon saga brought to us all by David McGowan.
Who by the way- apparently has a book deal for his Laurel Canyon work.
So there will be no more to read on his site.

I want you to check out these jpg's Jan has provided-

My comment to Jan regarding this work-

"I commend you, Jan, for taking all this work on.
It must have been a lot.
I intend to post it at my blog, including the transcript all linked back to you.

For me, this connects the dots on so many scenarios
Not so much the mushroom angle
But the agenda of MKultra. The LSD ‘movement’
the drugging of the public without their knowledge
experimentation of prisoners and orphans
I was aware that Wasson had been previously attached to the Kennedy assassination
This work of yours adds another layer to all I have already read
It also ties in with the Laurel Canyon stuff written by David McGowan
The “creation” of the Hippie Culture, ties in to the drug culture, ties in to the intelligence apparatus.
All very relevant. And, thoroughly enjoyable."

I took this in twice. There is a lot contained within and I just had to listen twice to take it all in.
I haven`t read the entire transcript, but understand there are numerous references at the end.
If you enjoy it or find it of any value, let Jan know.
This must have taken a great deal of time and energy to put together.

Book relink: Rockefeller Medicine Men

Today, something a little different. A history day.

I am relinking a book I had up previously. IT IS A MUST READ. In my opinion of course.
Link Rockefeller Medicine Men
Medicine and Capitalism in America

I am about 1/4 of the way through it. I find it a real eye opener. An eye popper. It is about way more then just medicine. Though that is covered. It is about the multiple ways the wealthy elite shape society, through foundations, charities, trusts, universities and grade schools. Even the education of the blacks!

When you consider that the so called American model of capitalism has been forced upon so many other nations, you come to realize just because you don't live in America, does not mean you are not affected by these despicable elites.

An aside there is a Gates figure that looms large in this book... Curious?

"Not all was smooth for the new barons of the corporate
economy, nor did they make life easy for those under them. The
owners of each industry, driven to grab what they could of the
available market and accumulate as much capital as possible in
the shortest time, pushed wages down in order to lower prices
"and to get a jump on their competitors. Immigrants were
inducted into the growing industrial work force. Some 16 million
foreign-born were attracted to the country in the second half of
the nineteenth century, totaling 15 percent of the population by
1890 and nearly a quarter of the population of the industrialized
northeastern states. Craftsmen saw their skills, the basis of
modest security and pride, fall to degradation and unemployment
before machines that outproduced them and factories that
oppressed them. Migrants from failing farms and immigrants
from foreign lands filled the factories and cities of the New
World. Working men lost their livelihoods or submitted to the
harshest labors. Women were drawn out of more traditional
homebound work into factories, shops, and stores. Twenty
percent of the nation's women were wage laborers by 1900.
Children were sucked into the factories as the cheapest labor.
Working-class family and social Hfe were shaken and devastated.
Exploitation of workers, unmitigated by either legal restraints
or humanitarianism, led to increased organizing by labor. The
depression of the 1870s brought wages in 1875 down to $1.50 for a
ten-hour day. Riots were common in cities throughout the
country. Labor began to organize, and employers used every
available power, from lockouts to Pinkertons, to crush the union
movement. In 1877 the first nationwide strike, a spreading
walkout against the railroads, was put down with a bloodbath that
took the lives of scores of workers, their families, and their
supporters in city slums around the country. The labor movement
grew and strikes continued to spread in the 1880s and 1890s. The
Haymarket Square bomb in 1886, the strike at Carnegie's
Homestead steel mills in 1892, and the Pullman strike in 1894
were only the most prominent events that made employers and
their allies fear for the continued existence of their society. "The
times are strangely out of joint," worried a Kentucky politician.
"The rich grow richer, the poor become poorer; the nation

Day 100 of Montreal Student Strikes- Gone International

The media is playing this down. They are using the number "1,000's" Instead of tens of thousands.
I will post some pics. It appears to be tens of thousands.
To make Quebec and Canada look ever more appalling in the world, the protests have garnered international attention.  This is austerity in Canada. The Quebec student protestors have witnessed the near full force of state sponsored tyranny.  Not limited to the students. Their teachers, their parents and other supporters have been pepper sprayed. Including some people sitting on an outdoor patio in Montreal who had nothing to do with the protests. I will save that  gem of a video for later.  To many have been beaten. To many have been tear gassed. Far to many have had rubber bullets fired at them.

No live fire. Yet.

In Canada, which is supposed to be a "functioning democracy" as in other "functioning democracies" the right to protest is allegedly guaranteed/protected. That's a lie.

Let's be clear. Protest is not a right granted to you by the state.  It is your right as a functioning, intelligent, living human being. Your rights are not granted to you by the state. They are yours, they are inherent,  they are a right of your human birth.

Therefore considering what is mentioned above. The students are well within their right to protest the heavy hand of the regime and it's intent to put them into a life of debt servitude.

Yes,  I used the word regime, as this is the word of choice of the main stream media when spinning their tales of "regime" change for other countries. You have all read this word. Despotic regime. Brutal regime.
Yet, this is Canada being referenced and it is acting the part of a regime. A despotic regime. A brutal regime.

The protests have gone on for 100 days now. Initially they were quite peaceful.
Until the Quebec government decided to bring the police in. Likely some provocateurs to boot.
The police engaged in intimidation tactics, screaming, pushing generally undertaking actions to incite the protestors. Oh and as in a democracy  the police were snatching the kids off the streets, state sponsored kidnappings, then throwing them into the notorious white vans. A standard terror tactic at so many protests in alleged "functioning democracies".  These kidnappings were rampant at the G-20 in Toronto.

The police were doing their best to garner  the much needed response thereby justifying their big bulky body armour and all their chemical weapons. (no flip flops and happy face t-shirts for these steroid behemoths) If they could incite the violence they had worked to accomplish,  the heavy handed response of the regime would be justified.
Think about this?

How is it the Quebec government needs to in debt the future generations, when they have so much money for strong arm security tactics? Lots of pepper spray. Rubber bullets. Tear gas. Not to mention all the paycheques for the police force. Quebec is shelling out lots of loonies & toonies for their state sponsored oppression.
Kind of hard to justify creating a generation of debt slaves when the regime has money for state sponsored terror tactics?
The media has been spinning, always spinning. All the usual stuff. Divide and conquer.
Sadly it has worked on far to many Canadians who don't realize they are being manipulated.
Canadians, your being manipulated.
Your always being manipulated. Time to wake up to that fact.
This is not an us vs them situation. This is austerity. The students are you. You are the students.
Cuts to the old age pensions. Cuts to EI.
In a land of vast natural resources, the wealth of it all being stolen out from under your feet.
This will be the  future of Canadians. Impoverished. Indebted. In servitude.
But it doesn't have to be. Just  wake up and smell your "Timmy's" people.
Wake up.

Let's get back to the student protests! From the Calgary Herald
I will commend the Calgary Herald for actually using the tens of thousand number and actually having pictures of the protestors marching along. As opposed to non relevant picture. Pleasant surprise.
A river of red-clad protesters is rippling through downtown Montreal on this, the 100th day of Quebec’s student strikes, with smaller events being held in other cities.
Parallel events are being held in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and New York. In Paris, a few hundred supporters, including many Quebecers, congregated near the famous Notre Dame Cathedral.
In New York City, two demonstrations were scheduled Tuesday: one at Rockefeller Plaza where Quebec government offices are located, and another at Washington Park in the evening.
Organized by the Occupy Wall Street movement and by the group Strike Everywhere, the first New York event was designed to raise awareness about the Quebec protests while the second was about opposing anti-protest laws all over the world.

“An increase in the powers of police and the state anywhere is an attack on us everywhere,” said the release for the New York event.

I could not agree more.

Within Canada, organizers of the Calgary gathering described Quebec’s law as draconian, and encouraged people to meet in support of Quebec students.
There are other hints the student unrest could spread outside the province. The Canadian Federation of Students wants to call an Ontario-wide strike vote this fall in a show of solidarity with Quebec students.
“A campaign of mass educationals, solidarity delegations and mass mobilizations should be used to lead up towards a student strike in Ontario,” the federation said in a recent letter.

Meanwhile, in Montreal, tens of thousands of people of all ages were marching, while wearing the iconic red square of the province’s student movement.
The crowd ranged from hardcore elements carrying posters with revolutionary slogans, to elderly marchers, students’ mothers, and groups of people bused in from the Ottawa area.

A sea of people. As far as the eye can see.

Now that video. Quebec police in action. Spraying patrons at a bar.  Just because they can.

All this going on in Quebec as news comes out about the behaviour of police at the G-20 in Toronto, Canada.
G-20 officers receive scathing criticism. To little to late.

McNeilly's 300-page report slammed police for wantonly trampling constitutional rights and using excess force.

He was harshly critical of the attitude of some senior officers — one of whom referred to crowds as ``marauding terrorists'' — and those in charge of the poorly planned and operated makeshift detention centre.

Those detained in the centre complained they were strip-searched, not allowed to talk to lawyers, denied food and water, and had to use the bathroom in full view of others.

In another case, according to the review, a senior officer — described as ``maniacal'' by subordinates — illegally ordered protesters to be ``kettled'' for hours in a torrential downpour and wanted everyone, passersby included, arrested.

Tommy Taylor, who was among 1,100 people detained, complained bitterly that despite the damning report — which noted most of the 19,000 officers on the streets conducted themselves appropriately — no one had been held accountable for the very real problems.
Why are they still on the dole? The taxpayer dole?

Assassination in Lebanon- Framing Syria.

This is not the first time a figure of note has been assassinated since the Syrian destabilization campaign began.
This is not the first time that Syria has been automatically blamed for the assassination.
I will briefly rehash. The first assassination was of a Kurdish leader. This was done to stir the Kurds up against the Syrian government. It didn't work.
I covered that in this post: Assassination in Syria- Who really benefits?

This most recent assassination doesn't appear to have had any connection to Syria. Other then the connections being spun by Saad Hariri & Walid Jumblatt.
Mr Hariri & Walid Jumblatt seem to be creating a narrative. The narrative seems disconnected from the reality on the ground. This assassination does not benefit Syria. This assassination does benefit other players in the region.

Fears grew over the stability of north Lebanon Sunday after soldiers shot dead a prominent anti-Assad  Muslim preacher and a companion at a Lebanese Army checkpoint in Akkar, triggering a wave of anger in several parts of the country.

The gravity of the incident, which quickly led to the Army withdrawing from the Akkar region and opening an investigation, prompted leaders on both sides of the political divide to call for calm and restraint to prevent the country from sliding into sectarian strife as a result of a spillover of the 15-month-old uprising in neighboring Syria.

Sheikh Ahmad Abdul-Wahed and his companion, Sheikh Mohammad Hussein al-Mereb, were killed at an Army checkpoint in Kwaikhat

The Lebanese army took seemed to be willing to hold itself to account, for the incident,  not the blame for it, just willing to investigate.  The fact that they did so quickly, even before investigating what happens, tells us this was done for political expediency. To keep the peace.
Statement from them:

“While expressing its deep regret over the death of the two victims and extending its heartfelt feeling of solidarity and condolences to their relatives, the Army Command points out that it immediately formed an investigation committee of senior military police officers under the supervision of the relevant judiciary,” it added.

The Lebanese Army is not saying, we are responsible. They are saying were sorry this happened and we are looking into it.

Shortly after the incident, the Army pulled out its military vehicles from Akkar and returned to its barracks in the village of Qobeiyat in a move aimed at avoiding frictions with the slain preacher’s supporters as gunmen were seen in the towns of Bireh, Bebnin, Halba, Aboudieh and Beruqayel.

Religious figures called for a general strike Monday to protest over the killings. The opposition Future Movement voiced its support for the strike.

This is where the narrative of Syrian involvement comes into play:

Former premier Saad Hariri, leader of the Future Movement, condemned the killings and urged residents in Akkar to stay calm and avoid the trap of strife.“It is clear there is a plan to destabilize some Lebanese regions and stir up trouble in order to serve the Syrian regime and its tools,” Hariri said in a statement.

Ah, Hariri.... Is it clear that there is a plan to destabilize Lebanon in service to the Syrian regime?
Or, Is it clear that Hariri is engaged in a plan to destabilize Lebanon for his own political gain?
And that of Saudi Arabia, Israel, NATO......He is in support of a national strike, right?

“We do not blame the Lebanese Army as a whole for the killing ... But it is clear that there are some infiltrators involved in this killing who want to use the [military] establishment and its symbol to import the Syrian regime’s crisis ... to Lebanon in a desperate attempt to save it from its inevitable doom,” Hariri added.

Is it clear that their are infiltrators from Syria? Not at all! How about Muslim Brotherhood? Salafists? Israelis? Saudis? Of course that is not the narrative that Hariri is promoting, though all those options are viable.

Here is how the killing was undertaken allegedly:

A man identified as Khaled Mereb, who claimed to be Abdel-Wahed’s chauffeur, told local media that an Army soldier (One soldier) had shot the preacher after the latter attempted to drive away from the checkpoint.

The chauffeur said the Army had been notified that the convoy would be crossing the checkpoint.
Upon arrival at the checkpoint, the man said several soldiers had waved them through, but one soldier demanded that the preacher step out of the car. (One soldier, after all the others had waved the preacher through, one soldier demanded the preacher get out of the car)

Following a verbal altercation with the soldier, the man said he stepped out of the vehicle, when Abdul-Wahed took the driver’s seat and turned the vehicle around to go back. The soldiers then fired at the vehicle, killing the sheikh, he added.(now it is multiple soldiers shooting at the car?)

How does this narrative get from an Army soldier shooting the preacher to multiple soldiers firing at the vehicle killing the preacher? Also, why does the chauffeur claim that the Sheik took the drivers seat, taking control of the car and drives it away? Was there really a chauffeur at all?

Some political leaders in this area have called for the return of the Syrian Army, interesting?
Not likely or viable. Syria has it's own problems.

"Rifaat Eid, the head of the Arab Democratic Party, which controls the Jabal Mohsen neighborhood, called last week for the return of the Syrian army to Tripoli."

Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblatt phoned Hariri to condemn the killing of Abdul-Wahed and his companion. He urged Akkar’s residents to be vigilant to avoid falling into “the traps set by the Syrian regime.”

Jumblatt and Hariri? Now there are two conspirators that need to be looked into! Interesting how they are on the same page with their narrative? No investigation. Nothing. But, both these fellows point their fingers at Syria???

An interesting little ending to this news:

A prominent Salafist in Tripoli told The Daily Star that calm would return to the city. “Roads will be re-opened in the next few hours, calm will return, and authorities will be given time to conduct their probe,” Bilal Dokmak said. He added that detained Islamist Shadi Mawlawi, the trigger of last week’s deadly clashes in Tripoli, would be released Tuesday.
What is the connection between the killing of the Sheik and this detained Islamist?

In summary first of all one wonders if there was a check point? Or if the checkpoint was a fake one, set up by certain 'concerned' individuals? Manned, not by the Lebanese army, but by extremists masquerading as soldiers. Or was it a legitimate checkpoint with an infiltrator posing as a soldier, the lone soldier that disputed the passing of the Sheik.
Was this a political assassination between two opposing factions amongst the Islamist community of Salafi or Muslim Brotherhood?

Whatever this was? There is zero to indicate Syria was connected. Syria would have nothing to gain by undertaking this assassination. It is not to Syria's benefit to have instability on it's border.

IMO: this Islamist and fighting between factions is connected to the Sheiks killing-

Victoria Grant explains the scourge of private central banking

Some of you may have seen this? Some of you may not have?
I just can't pass it by.

If you leave a comment. And I hope you do. Don't waste any time on "her parents wrote it." Or anything along that line.
Twelve year old children are completely capable of understanding concepts such as the one this girl explains, if they have involved, concerned and aware parents.
If children have parents, who think there "parenting" consists of providing cable television and video games, so real true parenting can be avoided, then this little gals understanding a rather simplistic concept will seem an impossibility.

How involved are her parents in making her aware of the role debt enslavement and banking will inevitably play in her life?? As was covered in the Toronto Star this past week-end......

Very. I have nothing but respect and admiration for them.

An A student, Victoria spent weeks preparing it. “She is friendly and bubbly, but also very determined, hard-working and disciplined,” says her mother, Marcia, a principal at Guelph’s Resurrection Christian Academy. Banking has been dinner table conversation at the Grant household for some time. Zane has a bee in his bonnet about private banks, profits and national debt and has been sharing with the family.
He sees it as an ethical issue. “Money drives wars,” he says. “Bankers provide the money . . . Why aren’t we taking the money that is used for war and giving it to people who actually need it.”
So when Victoria needed a topic for a speech competition organized by the Association of Christian Schools International, she chose banking.
“It doesn’t sound right,” Victoria says, “that the government, like, has been borrowing from private banks and putting us into debt.”
Indeed, the Grant family, including brothers Joshua, 8, and Ethan, 5, troop down to the basement after their 5:30 dinner a few times a week, write on a white board, share new ideas and learn new words. For a while they were working on fractional reserve lending, where banks hold only a fraction of customers’ deposits in reserve.
They watched videos on the history of banking in Canada. They played a game to illustrate how  banks fail. Using silver coins he buys for the kids every month, Grant played the banker, accepting coins each child deposited.
Then his wife asked for a loan and got it. The kids asked to withdraw their money and, voilà — no cash in the bank.
It isn’t all economics talk in the Grant household. Victoria did competitive gymnastics and now plays soccer. They go camping in the summer. Friday night they were at Cirque du Soleil. Victoria likes to design clothes and watch TV shows including A.N.T. Farm and Good Luck Charlie.
More recently, they’ve been talking values, says Grant. “I started asking how you determine if something has value, how much is a house worth, or clothes. What is of ultimate value in our lives?”
Why this style of parenting? “I want to make sure they can learn how to think critically,” he says. “I want them to question. Obviously my daughter is influenced by my opinions, but there’s going to come a time when she’s going to say, ‘Dad, I don’t agree with you.’ I want her to think it through herself.”

Fukishima Reactor # 4 poses massive global risk

I haven't done any work on Fukushima for some time. This main stream Canadian news is  presented as if this is something that hasn't been a long time coming... It isn't.

More than a year after a devastating earthquake and tsunami triggered a massive nuclear disaster, experts are warning that Japan isn't out of the woods yet and the worst nuclear storm the world has ever seen could be just one earthquake away from reality.

The troubled Reactor 4 at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant is at the centre of this potential catastrophe.
Reactor 4 -- and to a lesser extent Reactor 3 -- still hold large quantities of cooling waters surrounding spent nuclear fuel, all bound by a fragile concrete pool located 30 metres above the ground, and exposed to the elements.
A magnitude 7 or 7.5 earthquake would likely fracture that pool, and disaster would ensue, says Arnie Gundersen, a nuclear engineer with Fairewinds Energy Education who has visited the site.
The 1,535 spent fuel rods would become exposed to the air and would likely catch fire, with the most-recently added fuel rods igniting first.
The incredible heat generated from that blaze, Gundersen said, could then ignite the older fuel in the cooling pool, causing a massive oxygen-eating radiological fire that could not be extinguished with water.
"So the fear is the newest fuel could begin to burn and then we'd have a conflagration of the whole pool because it would become hotter and hotter. The health consequences of that are beyond where science has ever gone before," Gundersen told in an interview from his home in Vermont.
Worst-case scenario
There are a couple of possible outcomes, Gundersen said.
Highly radioactive cesium and strontium isotopes would likely go airborne and "volatilize" -- turning into a vapour that could move with the wind, potentially travelling thousands of kilometres from the source.
The size of those particles would determine whether they remained in Japan, or made their way to the rest of Asia and other continents.
"And here's where there's no science because no one's ever dared to attempt the experiment," Gundersen said. "If it flies far enough it goes around the world, if the particles stay a little bigger, they settle in Japan. Either is awful."
Essentially, he said, Japan is sitting on a ticking time bomb.
The damaged Reactor 4 cooling pool was reinforced by workers who went in and "jury-rigged" it after the tsunami, but the structure still contains a massive amount of fuel, Gundersen said.
Reactor 3 has less fuel inside its cooling pool, but it has not been strengthened since the disaster and poses a greater risk of failing.
"Reactor 3 has a little less consequences but a little more risk, and Reactor 4 has more consequences but…a little less risk," he said.
Finding a fix
The solution, Gundersen said, is for the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) to immediately begin the process of transferring the fuel rods from the cooling pools to dry cask storage -- a massive and costly endeavour, but one he said is absolutely essential.
To even begin the removal process at Reactor 4, TEPCO would first have to construct a crane capable of lifting the 100-tonne fuel rod canister, since the original crane was destroyed in the disaster last year.
In order to do that, they would have to build a massive structure around the existing pool to support the new crane, which would then be used to lift the fuel rod canister from the water, down to the ground and into a steel and concrete dry-cask.
All this of course, has to be done in a highly contaminated area where workers must wear protective suits and limit their radiation exposure each day, adding time and expense to the process.
Still, with the consequences so high, Gundersen said there's no time to lose.
"This is a 'now' problem, this is not a 'let's-wait-until-we-get-the-cash-flow-from-the-Japanese-government' problem. The consequences of a 7 or 7.5 earthquake don't happen every day, but we know it happened last year so you have to anticipate that it will happen," Gundersen said.
‘Fate of the world' depends on Reactor 4
He's not alone in pressing the Japanese government to adopt a sense of urgency about the Reactor 4 dilemma.
Robert Alvarez, a former top adviser at the U.S. Department of Energy, also expressed concern in a letter to Akio Matsumura, a Japanese diplomat who has turned his focus to the nuclear calamity.
Matsumura had asked Alvarez about the risk associated with Reactor 4.
"The No. 4 pool is about 100 feet above ground, is structurally damaged and is exposed to the open elements," Alvarez said in his response. "If an earthquake or other event were to cause this pool to drain this could result in a catastrophic radiological fire involving nearly 10 times the amount of Cesium-137 released by the Chernobyl accident."
Mitsuhei Murata, Japan's former ambassador to Switzerland and Senegal, has also made it his mission to convince the UN and the world that urgent action is needed.
"It is no exaggeration to say that the fate of Japan and the whole world depends on No. 4 reactor," Murata said in a recent letter to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, in which he urged him to back efforts to address the problem.
Last week, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda said most major threats have been eliminated and "cold shutdown" status had been achieved in December.
But Noda declined to comment directly on the risk posed by Reactor 4, only telling The Wall Street Journal's Asia edition that it was important to "remain vigilant."
"We have passed a situation where people have to run far away or evacuate," he said. "Ahead of us are time-consuming tasks like decontamination and decommissioning (of the plants). We will proceed with the utmost care."
Gundersen said the remaining challenges at the Fukushima Da-Ichi site are not technological. Everyone knows what needs to be done and how to do it, he said. The challenge lies, rather, in convincing Japan that action must be taken now.
That will require international pressure, as well as international investment, on a grand scale, he said.
"We're all in a situation of having to pray there's not an earthquake. And there's the other half of that, which is pray to God but row toward shore. And Tokyo's not really rowing toward shore right now," Gundersen said.

More civilian blood in the streets of Syria- Another car bomb

The fruits of US and  Saudi's efforts to ensure  weapons of terror get to their terrorists in Syria results in yet another large car bombing. Covered here

"Syrian rebels battling the regime of President Bashar Al Assad have begun receiving significantly more and better weapons in recent weeks, an effort paid for by Gulf nations and coordinated in part by the United States, according to opposition activists and US and foreign officials."

Suicide vehicle bomb hits military compound

(of course the Seattle press prefers to have pictures of  'protests' instead of the pictures related to their headline)

A suicide vehicle bomb tore through the parking lot of a military compound in an eastern Syrian city on Saturday, killing nine people, the country's state media reported. It was the latest in a series of blasts in recent months targeting security installations.

State TV said the blast in Deir al-Zour also wounded dozens, and showed footage of damaged buildings, smoldering cars, and trucks turned upside down. Debris filled a street that was stained with blood. The station said U.N. observers based in the city visited the site of the blast.
The report said the vehicle was rigged with 1,000 kilograms (2,200 pounds) of explosives and did heavy damage to buildings up to 100 meters (yards) away. It added that the explosion left a crater five meters wide and 2 1/2 meters deep.
The state-run news agency SANA said the blast hit the parking lot of a military residential compound, while an opposition group, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (human rights?) , reported that the bomb went off close to the city branches of the Military Intelligence Directorate and Air Force Intelligence.

Terrorist Explosion in Deir Ezzor Claims Lives of Nine Martyrs, Scores of Injuries

A suicide terrorist blew himself up inside a booby-trapped car  at Ghazi Ayash Masaken (housing) neighborhood in the eastern city of Deir Ezzor, claiming the lives of nine martyrs, scores of injuries as well as big damages to the surrounding buildings.

A source in Deir Ezzor told SANA reporter that the suicide terrorist, driving a Hyundai booby-trapped car, stormed the site of Military Constructions Institution ( MATAA ) at Ghazai Ayash Masaken, claiming the lives of 9 persons, between civilians and guards and causing the injury of scores of victims, some of them in critical condition, including a 4 year old girl and a 26 year old girl, in addition to human remains. (What about their human rights? Since the British based Syrian Observatory is all about Human rights? Observatory? Do they 'observe' via promotion the death of civilians at the hands of terrorists?)
The source added that the terrorist blast caused rift to the 100- meter surrounding buildings  and made a crater with 5-meter diameter and 2,5 depth, while the quantity of explosives was estimated at 1000 KG.
A team of the international observers inspected the site of the terrorist explosion.
