Breaking :Israel Denies Jet Was Downed by Syria & Drones Shot Down

Clearly something is going on in the skies over/around Syria.
It appears based on recent reports that Israel did strike southern Syria, but, is denying being shot down.
I've updated since first published.

Israel denies report its jet was downed during Syria raid as ‘bogus’

The Israeli military has described reports that one of its jets was brought down while carrying out airstrikes in Syria as “bogus,” amid reports that the country’s air defense systems engaged and downed several “hostile targets”.
Israeli Defense Forces have refused to comment on the country’s alleged role in the attack, with a spokesperson saying that they’re not commenting on reports in foreign media. Yet the IDF has denied a particular report that it had lost a warplane during the raid on Syria.
A Syrian security source earlier told RIA Novosti that an Israeli jet was among the targets downed by the air defense. “Our air defense have downed an Israeli jet and four rockets before they could reach their targets,” the source said.
Meanwhile, Syria TV reported that a missile strike against Syria was deflected, without specifying what the downed objects were. The incident reportedly occurred in the Kiswah area, located 13 kilometers (8 miles) south of Damascus.
MOSCOW (Reuters) - Syrian air defence forces shot down an Israeli war plane and four missiles, Russia’s RIA news agency said on Thursday citing a Syrian security source.
“Our air defence forces shot down an Israeli war plane and four missiles before they reached the targets”, the source said, according to RIA. The source said all the missiles targeting the town of Kiswah were struck.
Drones near the Russian airbase shotdown"

Telegram channel Directorate 4 reported, citing the Syrian media, that there were explosions in the sky over the city of Jableh, where the Russian Khmeimim airbase is located.
According to preliminary data, air defense systems located in the base fired two rockets on militant drones.
If Israel was firing on Syria, at the same time, militants launched a drone attack on the Russian airbase- Should we assume it was coordinated?

JP:  IDF confirms projectile fell in Golan as Syria claims it downed 'hostile targets

The IDF spokesperson’s Unit confirmed that Israel’s air defense system identified a one Syrian surface-to-air missile projectile fell in open territory in the Golan Heights after the Syrian regime said it had downed “hostile targets” over the southern part of the country on Thursday night.

Israel carries out airstrikes in Syria reportedly targeting Iranian militias

Israel has reportedly carried out airstrikes in Southern Syria targeting Iranian militias, in its first publicised strike since September.
The attack was first reported by Jordanian media channel Al-Hadath around 10 pm Damascus time. The strikes targeted the region of Al Kisweh, south of the Syrian capital, hitting Iranian militias’ targets, according to Al-Hadath's sources.
Syrian state media said Syrian defences has foiled the attack and continued to shoot down “enemy targets.”
Israel has denied reports, however, that one of its planes was hit by Syrian defences:

Al Kisweh has been hit by Israeli airstrikes at least twice before, with a big raid carried out last May.
Israel is NOT denying that they've attacked Syria. They are denying one of their planes was shotdown

Poroshenko Hails Trump's Leadership as Meeting With Putin is Cancelled

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on Thursday welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to cancel a previously scheduled meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, after Russia seized three Ukrainian ships at the weekend. “This is how great leaders act!” Poroshenko tweeted.

Trump cancels meeting Putin as he heads to G20 summit

President Donald Trump abruptly canceled a planned meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin as he headed to the Group of 20 Nations summit Thursday, citing Russia's seizure of Ukrainian vessels as a source of tension in a relationship he has fostered in the face of criticism.
Trump tweeted his decision from Air Force One shortly after his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, revealed he had lied to Congress to cover up that he was negotiating a real estate deal in Moscow on Trump's behalf during the Republican presidential primary in 2016.
The news ensured any meeting with Putin would spotlight the special counsel's investigation into whether the Trump campaign colluded with Moscow during the campaign. Trump has denied any wrongdoing.
Will they really not meet at the summit?
Or is this just spin from the media to connect the Cohen issue with the alleged Moscow collusion?  With some dramatic flair?
Could be.

- Another news report- Doesn't mention any connection to Mr Cohen.

Trump cancelled meeting with Putin after talks with Pompeo, Bolton

US President Donald Trump decided to cancel his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the G20 summit in Argentina after speaking with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and National Security Adviser John Bolton, Reuters quoted White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders as telling reporters aboard Air Force One, TASS reported.

ISIS to Launch False Flag Chemical Attack on Kurds To Frame Damascus

KurdIShIS: ISIS always helping the Kurds.  Always ready to serve when the coalition needs a hand to advance their agenda.
Time and time again. Over and over and over and over.  Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
How many ways can I say this is more of the same?
And this news makes perfect sense considering all that has gone on, since 2011, with the Syrian destabilization. Don't worry, if they pull this off no serious harm will come to their symbiotic pals.. Though social media will claim otherwise- There will be videos. And unsubstantiated chatter.

ISIS to launch false flag chemical attack on Syrian Kurds – and Russian military is watching closely
Islamic State terrorists are plotting to shell Kurdish-led militia with chemical-filled munitions in Deir ez-Zor, Syria, Russian military said. The terrorists want to frame Damascus for the attack to trigger new US-led airstrikes.
Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) has launched production of toxin-filled mortar shells in the east of the Deir ez-Zor province, Russian military said on Wednesday. The shells are filled with chemicals by a crew of 11 terrorists, who received foreign training and came to Syria specifically to carry out the false-flag attack.
photo from RT article
IS militants are seeking to shell positions held by the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), framing Damascus for the attack. The terrorists seek to trigger massive airstrikes by the US-led coalition against the government forces, the military said.
Russia will send a nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) warning system to the location, as well as Russian NBC specialists, to monitor IS activities, it added.
Moscow’s warning comes shortly after a chemical attack in the city of Aleppo, where anti-government militants apparently shelled the western part of the city with a “poisonous substance,” affecting over 50 people. The attack, however, has not drawn much attention from the international community, let alone resulted in airstrikes against the attackers.

Interview: Laura Endicott Thomas- Control, Coercion and State Education

"When direct oppression is no longer possible, deliberate dumbing down will do just as well."

Managed to listen to this interview last week.
Education is not about educating. It's about 'socializing'. The edu-indoctrination system does not hide this fact. But, have you ever considered what it means to be "socialized"?
Socialized: to make (someone) behave in a way that is acceptable to their society.
Who or what is the deciding factor's in what is acceptable to society?
There is a whole lot of edu-indoctrination that is not acceptable in my opinion. Doesn't enrich any one child's life, in my opinion.  Most young people these days cannot do math. Can't calculate in their head. Can barely count. Can't read. And worse of all- Can't think or reason. Annoyingly many people today speak in sound bites! What in the hell is that?!

Education as it stands today is little more then state sponsored indoctrination. And an exercise in cult(ure) creation

I've written about the adventure of educating our own daugher despite her attending state schooling, previously. Relinked at the bottom.

She did attend school and still we had to teach her all kinds of additional lessons- in order for her to actually function in life.

Interestingly, at the time she was learning to read- she was told to 'just read what she thought was on the page' based on the pictures- I taught her to break down words phonetically.
A bizarre method of reading was mentioned in the interview- One that actually caused children of the day to have mental problems. Oddly enough it sounded similar to the gibberish they tried to teach our daughter. And yes she had to learn her multiplication tables, which, made learning division a whole lot simpler. Hubby taught her how to measure volume etc.,
And she reminded me this past week that Dad has also taught her SOHCAHTOA
As we  continued to discuss her elementary/high school education- I told her if I was a parent with young children in this day and age I would do everything possible to home school.

Public school as it is today is simply unfit to exist. Lots of tax money is thrown at it, but what is the real and true value to the students?

This perception managing 'gender' agenda taught present time has no basis in reality.  The Ontario sex education borders on promotion of pornography. The indoctrination regarding  AGW, like the sex ed, gender agenda is plain and simple cult control/socialization to fit into a broader sick society.  No basic logic or reasoning is taught. The ability to discern fact from fiction. To spot contradictions and logical fallacies. These are the skills that children need to have in order to truly succeed in life.  Except that would run contrary to edu- indoctrination and state sponsored  culture creation.
Yet, this is the way a free man/woman should learn in a truly free society. But then this is not a free society, by any standard. No matter how much we lie to ourselves

"watching how its unscientific claims about gender identity have spread so prevalently has dampened my enthusiasm. The curriculum promotes the idea that there are more than two genders and that gender identity is socially constructed. The fact that few people have pointed out how these teachings aren’t based in science should raise a red flag in parents’ minds"
According to one survey, less than 1 per cent of people in the United States identify as transgender. That means for over 99 per cent of us, our biological sex is our gender.
And that makes sense. From a survival of the species perspective.

I wish more parents would think about that reality. And stop being so "socialized"

"It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society"

Now that my rant is done- please give a listen to the interview.

Laurie Endicott Thomas discusses her book Not Trivial – How Studying the Traditional Liberal Arts Can Set You Free.
Why are there so many problems within our modern education system? In theory, our schools should be better than they’ve ever been, but growing numbers of people are embarking on their adult lives as functionally illiterate. Despite the best efforts of educators, much of the system is thus increasingly unfit for purpose. This has enormous implications for society in general, and politics in particular. Is this by accident, or by design? Are there hidden agendas at work? Upon investigation, it would seem that the true purpose of compulsory state education is less about liberation and freedom of opportunity, and more about control, coercion, and churning out compliant consumers and obedient workers willing to take their allotted place in society’s hierarchy. When direct oppression is no longer possible, deliberate dumbing down will do just as well.

Dead Frozen Sea Turtles In A Warm Ocean? Contradiction

Of course the agenda pushing media is pretty much ignoring the deaths of all these sea turtles. Washing up on the eastern shores of the US. Some of them frozen. That's what you do when reality doesn't fit the agenda- Ignore it, in favour of pushing the desired narrative.
Really just a handful of news reports when compared to anything pushed AGW rebranded as 'climate change'

Cape Cod Times
WELLFLEET — Low temperatures and high winds killed most of the more than 80 turtles that washed ashore Thursday morning in Brewster, Orleans and Eastham.
Jenette Kerr, communications coordinator for Massachusetts Audubon Society’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, said most, but not all, of the turtles coming into the sanctuary are dead.
“We are at well over 400 cold-stunned turtles (for the year) — 82 today, the vast majority of them frozen solid,” Kerr said. ”(Wednesday) we had 87, the vast majority of them alive. Drastic change in the weather overnight. Most of the turtles are coming in from Brewster, Orleans and Eastham. We fear we may get more frozen turtles on (Thursday night’s) and (Friday’s) high tides.”
Fifty turtles were stranded between Wednesday night’s high tide and Thursday morning. “Most are dead,” Kerr said.

Turtles freezing in a warm ocean?  Because the warm ocean claim is one pushed relentlessly by the AGW cult... lead by big oil/banks and their big greenwashers.

Even the Guardian had to admit  to the "flash frozen" turtles

Though they put it in their wildlife section vs their climate change section.
Could have caused cognitive dissonance to the sect?
An unusual number of sea turtles have washed ashore in New England in the recent cold snap, many dead and appearing to have been “flash-frozen”.

Khashoggi Case: A Massive PsyOp Concocted by CIA-MI6-Mossad

I've long been ambivalent about Sibel Edmonds- Here work has only appeared at the blog a few times.  An exception has been made for her latest report. In my opinion it's worth reading. She seems to have filled in some gaps in info.
Sibel claims she is the only person who reported on the Egyptian wife- She’s not.
I picked up the report from a media outlet just over two weeks ago -Foregone Conclusion: CIA says MBS Ordered Khashoggi Assassination & Another Wife Appears.

As for her debunking the fiance’s claims- That's not difficult. Those claims could not be believed at all- The ever changing story. The family not even knowing who she was? She was the sole connection to Khashoggi and his ‘murder’-  The image taken outside of the consulate does not inform us of anything nefarious. Only Hatice does. This was discussed here at length previously Last time in this post: Khashoggi "Body Double"? Or not? Fiance Fabrication

Khashoggi/ CIA/Osama Bin Laden ties- Been there done that on October 07/18 :Missing "journalist" Jamal Khashoggi? Or Arms Trader Like Namesake Adnan Khashoggi?
He (Khashoggi) interviewed and travelled with Bin Laden at times between 1987 and 1995, including in Afghanistan where he wrote about the battle against the Soviets.

Khashoggi ties to ARAMACO ? Wouldn’t doubt it, but, don’t know.

After 55 days covering the Jamal Khashoggi Case, 24 X 7, on the ground, in Turkey, with over 600 reports and analyses, via my pinned thread @sibeledmonds on Twitter (due to not having access to my computers and being equipped only with one cell phone), I am ready to conclude and publicize my investigative report.

The Khashoggi Case is a massive PsyOp concocted by MI6, CIA and Mossad, with the cooperation and participation of certain high-level Saudi Government intelligence officers.

For the first 53 days of my investigation of this case, while posting reports and analyses via Twitter posts on an almost hourly-basis, I had refrained from a definitive conclusion, partly to protect my sources, but also due to fulfilling the requirement of having documents and at least two direct named (and vetted/legitimate sources).

Yesterday I broke the news on the bombshell revelations by Former Director of the Turkish Military Intelligence Services, General Ismail Hakki Pekin, via Oda TV Live Coverage on Nov 21. See the 6-min video clip below

General Pekin, an insider with a long career in Intelligence who has high-level contacts and sources within MI6, CIA and Mossad, made the following statements (Summary Translation) while risking severe backlash from the government here in Turkey:

-There has been intense behind the scenes competition between the UK and US over ARAMCO and it’s coming IPO, scheduled for 2020, via either the London or New York Stock Exchange (Many billions of dollars’ worth)
-Jamal Khashoggi was/is very close to certain ARAMCO Board Members, and has been a prize sought by both US and UK players due to his connections
-UK (MI6) concocted the plans (or fakery) to kidnap Khashoggi
-The CIA and Mossad got involved in this UK plot
-The Fiancé was some sort of honeytrap most likely connected to MI6, or possibly the CIA, and is not who “they” claim she is- not genuine
-They may have selected Turkey as a secondary target to damage its reputation- -With the US aiming to set up a Kurdish State in Northern Syria and the possibility of ending its alliance with Turkey
Geez, I've been writing about that for years and years.....
Whether or not the facts come out about what has happened, regional fallout will likely follow, and the existing camps of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, versus Qatar and Turkey are likely to become even more entrenched His disappearance has both revealed and heightened tensions between the two sides of the Gulf crisis

Newsbud continues: I’ve been seeking a second legitimate “Named” source for the above information, which I had already gathered weeks prior to General Pekin’s revelations. On November 1, a trustable source, a newspaper editor and investigative journalist with history and expertise in Intelligence matters in Turkey, Ergun Diler, based on multiple high-level Intel sources, leaked explosive information revealed by General Pekin with added details and specifics- See translated summary highlights:

The behind-the-scenes clash between the US and Britain has shaken the foundations of global intelligence.
On September 11, 2018, MI6 intercepted Saudi communications pertaining to plans to kidnap or eliminate Khashoggi. They notified the CIA and had three meetings in connection with these intercepted plans.
MI6 also sensed that the CIA might actually be a participant in Khashoggi plans intercepted from Saudi communications
On September 15, MI6 actually contacted Khashoggi and warned him of the plans against him (possible kidnap or elimination in Turkey) by the Saudis. Khashoggi was fully briefed, and was aware of the plans.
Why would Khashoggi go to the Saudi Consulate despite being warned of the plans weeks in advance?
Since no body (or body trace) has ever been found or seen, there is the possibility of Khashoggi being alive, and the possibility of this being a joint MI6-CIA concocted game with him as an active/willing participant.

From day 5 of the case I’ve been in the position of debunking the mainstream media’s narrative and reports based on researching the case and Khashoggi comprehensively, contacting sources here in Turkey and in the United States, including former and current intelligence and law enforcement experts, insiders, and journalists’ under-pressure here in Turkey. In fact, since day one of this case, unanimously, the media has been feeding the public around the world nothing but false and concocted information.

Khashoggi is/was Not who the mainstream media has been portraying. Right from day one the media published and marketed a false portrayal of this so-called victim, and did so intentionally. Jamal Khashoggi was not a journalist. He contributed less than a handful of fluff opinion pieces for the Washington Post (Of course a newspaper with a long history of CIA partnership). He was Osama Bin Laden’s partner and confidante throughout the 80s. He’s been on the CIA team since 1982. In the 90s he worked as a liaison Intel officer for Saudi-CIA cooperation. Starting in the mid-2000s he was an active Arab Spring operative for several NGOs, many of them funded by George Soros and the CIA.  Pretty much everything fed by the media giving Khashoggi and his background almost a saint-like status has been false. Intentionally.

I was the first and only person to debunk the media reports on the alleged Turkish fiancé. Only a few months before coming to Turkey, Khashoggi, while still married in Saudi Arabia, married an Egyptian woman in the US/Canada, with a public and publicized wedding- a sharia wedding. I obtained the pictures of his wedding and his new wife. The media, despite being fully aware of this, omitted this fact from their coverage. How could he meet this alleged Turkish woman and get engaged to her while on honeymoon with this new wife? Then there is the background of this fiancé as an active member of the Muslim Brotherhood, her time in Egypt, and her connections to Soros-Funded Arab Spring NGOs. And let’s not forget her ever-changing story and timeline for the day Khashoggi entered the Saudi consulate. Again, for all the relevant documents, pictures, analyses and timeline on this alleged fiancé please go through my Pinned Khashoggi Thread with 600+ entries.

Instead of detailing all my Khashoggi coverage and making this a lengthy and complex article I am going to direct you to my twitter thread with hundreds of facts and analyses. In the next few days I will begin producing a series of videos talking about the case in de

Is The US Pivoting the Fight In Syria Toward A War With Iran? YES!

Is the Trump Administration Pivoting the Fight in Syria Toward a War with Iran?- New Yorker

Selected excerpts:

The number of U.S. military personnel in-country has steadily grown, and the rhetoric of the President and members of his national-security team continues to escalate.
"The largest American military base in Syria covers more than five hundred acres, but it can’t be seen from the road. When I visited in mid-October, on the condition that I not reveal the exact location, I thought my taxi-driver had brought me to the wrong place. All I saw were a few Kurdish soldiers standing around a barricade. But, past the checkpoint and up a hill, a vast encampment spread out before us. The perimeter was constructed of dirt berms, sod-filled gabions, and razor wire. The runway was more than a mile long, and sunk below grade, so that planes would seem to disappear as they landed. There were hastily constructed wood buildings, huge clamshell tents, stacks of shipping containers, rows of white trucks and sport-utility vehicles, prefabricated trailers housing showers and latrines, and a dusty athletics field where soldiers were jogging around a track in the desert twilight.
The American intervention in Syria, now in its fourth year, (incorrect, the intervention is in it's 7th year by my own count and likely longer still)  began as a small Special Forces mission of the kind the Pentagon is currently running in a dozen countries. In the fall of 2015, when President Barack Obama deployed fifty commandos to advise the Syrian Kurds in their war with the Islamic State, his Administration denied that he was breaking his promise not to put “boots on the ground.” “We have run special ops already,” Obama said, “and, really, this is just an extension.” Since then, the number of military personnel in-country has steadily grown, first to two hundred and fifty, then to five hundred, then to two thousand, and there’s reason to believe the true figure is now twice that. (During a press briefing in October, 2017, an Army general let slip that the number was four thousand.)"
I'll bet the number is still higher?
"Congress has not authorized military action in Syria, nor is there a United Nations mandate permitting the use of force. Nevertheless, over the last three years, the mission has morphed into something more like a conventional ground war.
The United States has built a dozen or more bases from Manbij to Al-Hasakah, including four airfields, and American-backed forces now control all of Syria east of the Euphrates, an area about the size of Croatia.
Turkey is still a wild card, but the once-cluttered battlefield map is increasingly divided between just two coalitions: the Russia-Iran-Assad alliance, in control of two-thirds of the country, including Damascus, Aleppo, and Homs, and the American-backed S.D.F., in control of the rest, including Raqqa
But, because Operation Inherent Resolve, as the Pentagon calls its mission here, falls under the authority of the Joint Special Operations Command, known as JSOC, basic facts are kept classified, including the cost of the mission, the units involved, where they are located, and the number of wounded, which is believed to be substantial.
The belligerent talk from Washington might be a ploy to intimidate Tehran, a calculated move to turn Trump’s unpredictable nature into strategic leverage. But the Iranians appear willing to respond in kind. On October 1st, Iran fired a volley of ballistic missiles across Iraq and struck an ISIS position in Deir Ezzor, not far from American troops. It was in retaliation for a terrorist attack on an Iranian military parade, but afterward, Bolton’s counterpart, Ali Shamkhani, issued a statement to the United States: “John Bolton said we should take you seriously. The commander of our aerospace forces took you seriously and landed missiles within three miles of you.” A similar incident could give Bolton and the others a pretext to convince Trump to launch a bombing campaign on Iranian military infrastructure. If Trump strikes Iran, the American forces would be engaged in a Middle East war zone that would span four contiguous countries: Syria, Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan, stretching nineteen hundred miles from Damascus to Kabul (to say nothing of Yemen, Somalia, Libya, and Niger).

Syria & the Aleppo Chlorine Attack: LIHOP?

Syria: Modified Shells and USAID Money to HTS (not shocking in the least)

Following up on yesterday's post:

Syria & the Aleppo Chlorine Attack: LIHOP?

More chlorine attacks to come?: SANA

Shortly after targeting Aleppo’s residential neighborhoods with shells containing toxic gases, Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization deployed around 50 missiles carrying toxic chemicals in several areas in Idleb and its countryside.

Russia’s Sputnik news agency quoted local sources as saying that al-Nsura terrorists transported around 50 missiles at dawn on Sunday after they were modified by French experts in a location near Idleb Central Prison to carry chlorine payloads.

The sources said the missiles were transported in five batches and distributed among terror groups in Idleb’s southeastern countryside; 10 missiles were sent to “Ajnad al-Kavkaz” terror group in Tal al-Sultan area, 10 were sent to “Jaish al-Izza” terror group in Kafrzita town 38 km northwest of Hama city, 10 were sent to “Huras al-Deen” terror group which swore allegiance to Al Qaida in the town of Morek 30 km north of Hama, in addition to two other batches sent to the “Turkistani Party” terrorists and other unknown destinations.
Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly known as Jabhat al-Nusra, a terrorist group outlawed in Russia) militants used improvised 120mm chemical mines to shell the Syrian city of Aleppo, Konstantin Potemkin, a spokesman for Russia’s nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) protection troops, said on Sunday.

"Primary analysis of munitions fragments makes it possible to say that terrorists used improvised 120mm mines that had been stuffed with toxic agents in an improvised manner," he said.

On Saturday evening, Aleppo’s dwelling quarters came under shelling by militants from the Idlib de-escalation zone who used shells stuffed with a toxic substance, presumably, chlorine. According to Syrian medics, more than 70 people were hospitalized after the attack. SANA news agency put the number of those hospitalized at 107. Terrorists were subsequently destroyed by Russian warplanes
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says the United States is using the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group as a pretext to maintain its military presence in Syria and views the terror outfit as an ally to push regime change in the Arab country.

Lavrov, who was speaking at a joint press conference with Portuguese Foreign Minister Augusto Santos Silva in Lisbon on Saturday, said the US has set conditions for defeating Daesh, which indicates Washington has a “covert agenda in Syria."
“The US State Department has declared that Daesh has not been completely defeated and that the main condition for its defeat is regime change in Syria and the withdrawal of any Iranian or pro-Iranian units from the country,” said Lavrov.
“This confirms my theory that the Americans view Daesh as an excuse for their presence in Syria and almost as an ally in the fight against the Syrian regime. In other words, the main task [for Washington] now is regime change, not defeating Daesh.”

USAID money diverted to Syrian terrorist group

The Office of the Inspector General of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) has “uncovered numerous instances of possible or confirmed diversions to armed groups" in Idlib province in northwestern Syria, including to Hayat Tahrir al‐Sham, which is a designated foreign terrorist organization.

Interesting this sentence:
The explosive USAID report released Nov. 14 oddly holds back on naming the cross-border implementers implicated in these numerous diversions..
The piece then goes on to cast aspersion on Turkey. But why would the USAID report omit Turkey's role if they were involved? I don't think they would. Not now and not ever.
Which is highly suggestive that the funds were funneled to HTS/AQ via other parties that USAID is still working with.

Going further into the report interesting tidbits:
Washington cheered the selections of Barham Salih and Adel Abdul Mahdi as president and prime minister of Iraq. And then, before the new Iraqi government was even fully formed, the Trump administration made their lives impossible by designating Iraq as a front-line battlefield for the American campaign of pressure on Iran.
I contend that the two leaders anointed by the US would have known this was the price of their power.

The United States wants Iraq to sever its energy ties with Iran. Toward that end, it has granted Baghdad a 45-day waiver to end natural gas imports, although no one expects that timeline will be adequate for the massive economic and energy restructuring required to do so, if that is even possible. Washington is pressing Iraq to accelerate its efforts and negotiations with American energy companies to wean Iraq off Iranian energy.
Massive protests in Basra linked to inadequate energy availability further constrains Baghdad’s options. “As Basra citizens continue to feel marginalized, despite the financial resources their province offers the Iraqi state, the likelihood of renewed protests and even unrest remain high,” writes Hamdi Malik. “Renewed protests might persuade more Basra citizens to call for a federal region as a solution to end the tragic situation of their province.”

Provocations Abound: Ukraine & Russia- Blockades? Shots Fired? Ships Confiscated?

If the earlier Syrian incident in Aleppo was a provocation that Russia and Turkey managed to get ahead of.   Syria & the Aleppo Chlorine Attack: LIHOP?
What’s going on with Ukraine & Russia near the Kerch crossing bridge?
Sure looks like Russia and allies are being kept busy.

Russia would be protecting this brand new crossing, because it’s strategic.
Undoubtedly interested parties would wish to damage or destroy the crossing.

Telegraph- Russia 'fires on and captures' Ukrainian ships in new Crimea stand-off

Ukraine has made unsubstantiated claims regarding what went on. Though it is clear the bridge is blocked and guarded.

"Shipping in both directions was later suspended after a large cargo ship was moored across the arch of the Kerch bridge, the only navigable channel through the strait, on Sunday afternoon.

Russian military ships were deployed near the bridge over the strait and military helicopters and fighter jets were seen patrolling overhead earlier in the day.

Russian state media cited Alexei Volkov, the director of the Crimean Sea Ports, saying the closure was for "safety reasons".

A group of Ukrainian Navy ships that were approaching the Kerch Strait lying between Crimea and mainland Russia have retraced their course and are returning to their ports, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said.
This group departed from the Ukrainian port of Berdyansk on the Azov sea to the east of Crimea straight around 11.30 Moscow Time (08.30 GMT) on Sunday and set a course for the Kerch Strait. A few hours before that another group of vessels entered Russian territorial waters from the west Crimea. They hadn't made proper application for passing through the Kerch Strait. They refused to follow orders from the Russian Border Guard vessels.
The video released by Russian authorities show border guard ships pursuing Ukrainian vessels that maneuvered dangerously close to them.
The Ukrainian Navy said that its vessels were sailing as part of a scheduled routine transfer, at some point, adding that it warned the Russian authorities about it in advance. The Ukrainian military also accused Russian border guards of firing at their ships and seizing three of them.
Now, the FSB said it has obtained “irrefutable evidence” of a provocation planned by the Ukrainian Navy.

Confusing narratives that require sorting: Corporal Frisk

However, a while ago reports started coming in that a firefight have taken place. Apparently the first casualty was Ukrainian patrol craft (gun) Berdyansk (pennant U175) which reportedly lost propulsion. After that Russian forces tried boarding the vessel, with Berdyansk returning fire.

Exactly what has taken place since is even more unclear, but it should be remembered that the closing of the strait lead to a significant number of civilian vessels being stuck in the area waiting for things to clear up that they could continue their journeys. There is a very real risk for these, including both Russian and Ukrainian ones, being caught in crossfire. Significant air activity was also observed throughout the day, including Su-25 attack aircraft and armed Ka-52 attack helicopters. One report stated that following the exchange of fire both Berdyansk, sister Nikopol, and a naval tug has been captured by Russian forces, but currently the word is that six Ukranians are wounded, two vessels are under tow by friendlies, and one vessel is held by Russian forces.

One thing I do know. Ukraine was looking to kick start the conflict, again, with Russia- With the help of both Canada and the US. Covered in  previous posts.

January 2018/ Another 50 Canadian Soldiers Arrive in Ukraine To Build & Improve Military

Operation UNIFIER is the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) mission to support Ukrainian armed forces in Ukraine
Operation Unifier: Can it get any more obvious that Canada is working with the Ukraine on 'unifying" Ukraine by reclaiming Crimea?

Lots happening today. On two fronts and probably more- Thinking about Saudi Arabia all in turmoil too.

Additional Observation:

The news about this incident between Russia and Ukraine will dominate the news cycle for the next little while. Barring any other dramatic occurrence. This will erase the Syrian/Aleppo incident from the minds of the masses.
It will be a week of demonizing Russia, while the attack on Syrian civilians will be ignored.

Ukraine will be taking this to the OSCE

Russia said it opened fire after the Ukrainian ships illegally entered its territorial waters. The European Union and NATO called for restraint on both sides to de-escalate the situation.

Russia on Sunday seized three Ukrainian ships off the coast of Crimea after opening fire on them and wounding three sailors.
Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB), which oversees the country's border guard service, said it was forced to open fire after the ships illegally entered Russian territorial waters.
This was the reporting from earlier today- That Ukraine had entered Russian territorial waters. (Hubby's been watching this one for me- thanks hubby)
"There is irrefutable evidence that Kiev prepared and orchestrated provocations," it said. "These materials will soon be made public."

Syria & the Aleppo Chlorine Attack: LIHOP?

Here's hoping my readers are as open minded as I like to think they are?

I'm aware this news broke last night and yes I did catch some of the earliest reports.
The imminent use of "chemical weapons" from the demilitarized zone has been reported for quite some time now.  It's probably been mentioned here at least a half a dozen times. Considering the FACT that Iran, Russia and Turkey have Idlib surrounded it seems quite sensible they have a good handle on the going's on in that location. Not perfect. Not 100 percent. That's just not possible, in my opinion. But the 'troika' have a sufficient idea of the comings and goings in the locale.

Here I'm going to refer, again, to the map from the previous post.

The outposts that surround Idlib are marked on the map:
*Iran has 6 outposts
*Russia has 12
*Turkey has 11 outposts

It's been clear for a while now that the HTS were not going to cooperate with the Russian/Turkish agreement on Idlib. On November 20th there was a meeting in Sochi.
Covered here at the blog:
"I've updated below and am making note of the fact that Turkey and Russia are being pretty tight lipped on what was discussed/resolved/agreed to at the Sochi meeting"
“The situation in Syria requires our immediate decision and discussion of the urgent issues. The dynamics we have gained after signing the documents on Idlib in Sochi needs to be maintained to tackle the remaining issues without losing momentum,” Shoigu told his Turkish counterpart Hulusi Akar in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi on Tuesday"
Turkey's head of National Intelligence Service (MIT) Hakan Fidan was also present at the meeting, according to Turkish defense sources.

We have an important meeting take place on Tuesday. Very important people. All working towards getting the Idlib situation settled. All the heavy weapons were to be handed over, under the supervision of Russia and Turkey. This did not happen.
" The rebels are to hand over their heavy weapons under the supervision of Russia and Turkey by Nov. 10."

The reality has always been that Turkey can't do a dam thing with the vast majority of these thugs. The terrorists they backed were on board with the deal. The other terrorists- AQ/HTS were not. This is because they answer to a different master.

It's worth noting a couple of interesting occurrences:

Prior to the chlorine attack Turkey had removed those allied to them from Idlib:

Ankara Transfers Militants to Turkey From Syria's Idlib - Reports
DAMASCUS (Sputnik) - The specific names of the groups, to which the militants belong, are not indicated by the pro-government Syrian newspaper al-Watan.
According to al-Watan, turkish military has transported a significant number of militants from the demilitarized zone in the Syrian province of Idlib to a tent camp in the Turkish city of Nusaybin on the border of the two countries, al-Watan reported on Saturday, citing local sources.
When the chlorine attacks occurred- they came via shells lobbed just north of the area where they struck. Russian military experts were on the ground within hours of the attack- Hubby informed me of this report last night too! So they appeared very quickly.

MOSCOW, November 25. /TASS/. Russian military experts in chemical protection arrived in the city of Aleppo hours after militants launched a chlorine attack on residential districts of the city, the Russian Defense Ministry’s spokesman, Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov, told reporters on Sunday.
"Groups of specialists from units of nuclear, chemical and biological warfare protection deployed at observation posts in Syria urgently arrived to the area of the attack, carrying special equipment with them. They are working with the injured in hospitals, and monitor the environment in the area where toxic substances were used by militants," he said.

"According to initial information, confirmed, among other things, by symptoms diagnosed in those affected, the projectiles launched at residential districts of Aleppo were filled with chlorine," the Russian general added.

The official went on to say that the Russian side has earlier reported that the organization known as White Helmets was preparing to organize chemical provocations in the demilitarized zone around Idlib in order to accuse the government troops of using chemical weapons against civilians.
Mortar rounds, filled with toxic substances, presumably chlorine, landed on the Nil Street in the Al-Khalidiyah neighborhood. The projectiles were fired from positions in the southeastern section of the Idlib demilitarized zone, near the town of Al-Buraikat, controlled by militants of the Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham group (formerly Jabhat Al-Nusra, outlawed in Russia). 120-mm mortars were used in the attack.

It's being reported that Russia is bombing present time:

Russian Jets Hit Targets at Militants' Staging Ground for Aleppo Chemical Attack

Russia's Defence Ministry confirmed that Russian jets hit the targets of terorrists who had reportedly shelled Aleppo with deadly chlorine gas on Saturday.
According to the ministry, intelligence services identified in the Idlib de-escalation zone the fire weapons that were used in the Aleppo gas attack. They also found that the terrorists were preparing for another poisonous shelling. All the targets were destroyed; Turkey was warned about the strikes in advance via a hotline.
Sputnik's image
Earlier in the day, Damascus accused unnamed western countries of supplying weapons to armed terror groups so that they could stage false flag chemical attacks and then blame them on the government. Syria also urged the UN to take "punitive measures" against the countries that were supporting the Aleppo attackers.

Russia's Foreign Ministry, in turn, described the Aleppo shelling as an "attempt to damage the Syrian normalisation process", adding that it should be "unconditionally condemned" by the entire international community.
When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade?
Or throw them back.. really hard?

I'd be willing to consider a MIHOP, also. Except for the fact that the White Helmets and friends have undertaken chlorine attacks previously so I can't discount entirely they made this move for their own reasons. Except this time Russia and Turkey got ahead of them on plan.

So, LIHOP, is the most likely scenario
LIHOP = Let It Happen On Purpose
MIHOP = Made It Happen On Purpose

Additional Clarification: Before noses get right out of joint regarding the LIHOP question..?

Russia could take no action in Syria unless something did happen

Otherwise it would have been considered a huge provocation. Therefore.. to avoid appearing the aggressor in Syria, and garnering international ballyhooing alongside Syria, they had to wait until something happened.  Russia and their partners could have had the intelligence on this attack, but, could not act, could not pre-empt the attack.
Therefore they would have had to let it happen.

UPDATE #1  Russia and Turkey have been in communication today according to Reuters

Turkish defense minister Hulusi Akar discussed the latest developments in Syria’s Idlib with his Russian counterpart by telephone on Sunday, Turkish broadcaster CNN Turk reported.
No further details were immediately available.
UPDATE # 2:   Syrian opposition refutes chemical attack claims

Russia and Syria have blamed HTS. In the report it appears to be those affiliated with Turkey denying their involvement- Which may be true. Since Al Watan reported that Turkey had moved militants from Idlib, yesterday.

Stay tuned.

"Prospects for Syrian peace are looking up": M. K. Bhadrakumar

To Unlock The Diplomatic Riddle Behind the Khashoggi "Murder"- Look to Syria

The US has snubbed the Astana talks all along- And will continue to do just that
US has no plans to participate in Astana talks on Syria
"The US does not plan to participate in talks on Syria in Astana, US Special Representative for Syria Engagement James Jeffrey said"

M.K. Bhadrakumar:Prospects for Syrian peace are looking up

"After prolonged hibernation, the Astana Process on Syrian peace is kinetic, with the troika of ‘guarantor’ states – Russia, Turkey and Iran – set to hold a round of talks in the Kazakh capital on November 28-29.
Delegations of Syrian government and the opposition are also expected to attend. A renewed effort is commencing to create traction for the UN-sponsored negotiations in Geneva.
Much water has flown down the Euphrates since the 9th round of the Astana Process took place in May. Six months is a long time in politics – especially in Middle East politics. But, paradoxically, while Middle Eastern politics is in turmoil, the prospects for peace in Syria may have improved. The setting for tomorrow’s meet – it’s unclear at what level the event will take place – has become largely favorable.
At least 10 major reasons can be attributed.
One, Syria is witnessing a period of relative calm. There has been no major fighting for months.
Two, Syrian-Jordanian border had reopened and nothing of a feared flare-up happened in the Golan Heights.
Three, the Russian-Turkish understanding on Idlib is holding.
Four, Israel has been effectively ‘defanged’ (thanks to deployment of Russian S-300 ABM system to Syria).
Five, Russia and Iran intend to retain their military footprints in Syria for a foreseeable future, while on the contrary, the US lacks the political will or the military capability to impact the strategic calculations of Moscow, Tehran, Damascus or Ankara.
Six, importantly, Turkey has become an implicit ally of Russia and Iran and is inching closer and closer to a political deal that leaves President Bashar Al-Assad in power.
Seven, Russia, Turkey, and Iran are in the lead in shaping the Syria policy, with clear strategic goals and, even more so, the means to achieve them.
The Troika
Eight, on the other hand, a growing determination on the part of Russia, Iran, and Turkey is discernible to freeze out the United States from any role in shaping Syria’s geo-strategic future. Although the three countries would have tactical differences between them, broadly, Turkey will accommodate Russia and Iran so long as it has a free hand to check the Kurdish forces threatening its security. Significantly, the announcement on the rebooting of the Astana Process comes after the visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin to Turkey on November 19.
Nine, the crisis in Turkish-American relations not only persists but may even deepen in the period ahead. Finally, the Trump administration’s calculations that its re-imposition of sanctions against Iran will either force Iran out of Syria or, better yet, produce a veritable collapse of the Iranian government are turning out to be a mere pipedream. In fact, the opposite has happened.
This is set to get worse with the US move on the Turkish border to build a series of outposts to protect their occupation force- I'll be writing about that asap- check the map at the bottom of this post it will give you a perspective on that issue- which has to be dealt with to finally have peace in Syria
Assuming this is the 10th: Iran is intensifying its coordination with Russia and Turkey, and is creating firewalls to protect its strategic gains in Syria. Again, it is clear by now that the US cannot count on the new government in Baghdad to act against Iranian interests.
On the other hand, the dangerous situation that has arisen on Israel’s border with Gaza (which was precipitated entirely by Israeli hardliners) and the ensuing mayhem in Israel’s domestic politics will seriously delimit Benjamin Netanyahu’s energy and resources to act as ‘spoiler’ in Syria. Moscow has openly snubbed Netanyahu lately by refusing him to schedule his visit.
Similarly, the widening cracks in the US-Saudi alliance in the downstream of the Khashoggi murder all but means an overall Saudi disengagement from the Syrian conflict. The UAE has already begun mending fences with the Syrian government, which would only have been possible with Saudi approval. (See my blog UAE, Saudi sense convergence with Syria.)
Suffice to say, the so-called Syrian opposition is finding itself rudderless. Their erstwhile mentors – US, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, UAE – have either reached a dead end or have turned to new priorities in their self-interests accepting the defeat in the Syrian conflict.
Meanwhile, the appointment of Norwegian diplomat Geir Pederson as the UN Secretary-General’s new special envoy for Syria becomes a positive factor. Russia has warmly noted that “we know him as an experienced and unbiased diplomat.” Pederson’s predecessor Staffan de Mistura was widely perceived as a sidekick of the US. Clearly, the Astana Process is not wasting time by kickstarting the work on a Syrian settlement even as Perdersen moves in.

The one issue that MKB has not addressed is the occupation of approximately 1/3 of Syria's resource rich territory by the coalition and their PKK/YPG thugs.

The yellow is occupied by PKK/YPG and the coalition of the killing.  The American are intending to build a number of outposts along the border of Turkey and the occupied Syrian territory. Not to keep the peace, but, to create more instability.

To Unlock The Diplomatic Riddle Behind the Khashoggi "Murder"- Look to Syria

The headline has been altered from the original. Mystery has been changed to riddle.
Why? Though mystery and riddle are close in meaning it seemed to me that the word riddle better represented the idea that Robert Fisk was putting forth. Mr Fisk may beg to differ, but, based on my reading of his piece.. riddle was the better word choice. Murder is in quotations, because, in my book- No body/Not a certain murder.

Riddle: a question or statement intentionally phrased so as to require ingenuity in ascertaining its answer or meaning,a person, event, or fact that is difficult to understand or explain

Robert Fisk
Let's read together:
"Where should the Sunni Islamist fighters of Idlib go? Since their money and their weapons come from the Sunni Gulf, and since their Wahhabi Sunni faith was inspired by the very same creed which governs the Saudi monarchy, what better location for their future welfare than one of Saudi Arabia’s vast sandpits?
The Saudis are going to get away with it. Muhammad bin Salman, too. They may pay a price – we’ll travel in that direction later – but they remain the “vision of light” against Iran’s “vision of darkness”, in the words of Saudi Arabia’s ever more egregious foreign minister"
If the Saudi's were going to 'get away with it' then there would be no price to pay. (Contradiction)
"We are all, alas, making the same old Middle East mistake: of thinking that the bad guys will get overthrown or punished for their murders and transgressions and that the good guys (whoever they may be) will come out on top.

Jamal Khashoggi was the victim of murder most foul. But in the Middle East’s sectarian civil war, the Sunnis have got to win over the Shiites and the Saudis have got the money, and America’s president – for whom the epithet "insane" is now as irrelevant as it is obvious – has managed to quote the Saudis as claiming that Khashoggi was “an enemy of the people” and a member of the Muslim Brotherhood. Even if his murder was “terrible” and “a horrible crime”. It could very well be, announced the leader of the free world this week, that bin Salman had knowledge of the murder. “Maybe he did and maybe he didn’t!”
Of course Khashoggi was tied to the Muslim brotherhood and Osama bin laden (Fisk seems to be obfuscating those connections)
"The story clip-clops along like an old horse and we all trot along behind this lovable, familiar, furry beast.
There was a kind of tragic inevitability behind Adel al-Jubair’s latest appearance as Saudi foreign minister in Bahrain, a Sunni monarchy with a Shiite majority where the UK has just opened a new naval base beside the headquarters of the US 5th Fleet. Al-Jubair accused the press – yes us, colleagues of Khashoggi – of “hysterical” coverage of his murder. It was as if he was running the movie backwards to its original claim of innocence: when the kingdom stated that it had nothing to do with his butchery, that he had indeed left the Saudi consulate in Istanbul alive, that they had no idea what had happened to him. Hysteria indeed. How dare the media go on about Kashoggi being murdered and chopped into bits and secretly buried. Anyway, where was the body?"
Actually the coverage was really hysterical. If Jubair didn't say really hysterical he was downplaying the over the top coverage
"If there’s a murder, there’s got to be a body. And so here, briefly, we go back to Istanbul and to the Sultan himself, who doesn’t blame good old King Salman, but who really would like to find the corpse and who might – here we go again – have yet another tape of Khashoggi to send to the world’s intelligence services. Be sure our political leaders will not sully their ears by listening to it; Trump called the original recording “a suffering tape”. Canada’s Trudeau chose not to listen to it. But they really should have put their ear to the loudspeaker. Listening to an Arab journalist telling his murderers that he was suffocating would have been a fairly accurate symbol of democracy in the Middle East today."
From my reading the news of another tape was leaked in the Turkish press. I've seen nothing suggesting Erdogan made this statement.

Here's the meat and potatoes of Fisk's what's behind the riddle theory
"But Erdogan must have other plans. And here, I suspect, we should move a little south of the Sublime Porte and gaze over the plains of Idlib, the Syrian province where we were long ago told to expect – by Trump, the UN, the British, the EU, Amnesty International, Uncle Tom Cobley and his old grey mare – a bloody, gas-infected invasion by Syrian and Russian forces to finally destroy the Islamist fighters of Isis, Al-Nusrah, Al-Qaeda and their fellow jihadis, along with tents of thousands of civilians. Idlib is the rubbish basket for the enemies of the Syrian regime. Their only escape route is across the Turkish border – whence they originally came."
Ah yes, Idlib. Where we were told a bloodbath, brought on by the Syrians and Russians was inevitable. And desired by the 5/6 eyes. But then something happened. Russia and Turkey made a deal.  Denying the anglo zionists the desired excuse to intervene.

Readers here will recall this was written about extensively, here. I'd suggested there would be no attack by the Syrians and Russians... for what seemed to me very obvious reasons

September 7/2018-Idlib & The Status Quo: The Trump Resistance

For now the situation in Idlib will remain as it has been. Which means Russian and Syrian attacks on targets in Idlib will continue to occur as they have already been.
If the US/coalition attacks or conducts a chemical weapons psyop that status quo will be altered

 Fisk continued:
"But since the Sultan doesn’t want them back, and since Syria and Russia see no point in another bloodbath when the Syrian war has almost concluded — though readers may check this conclusion against future events (it's not over yet)– the outstanding question remains: where should these assorted Sunni Islamist fighters and their families go?

Since their money and their weapons come from the Sunni Gulf and since their Wahhabi Sunni faith was inspired by the very same creed which governs the Saudi monarchy, what better location for their future welfare than one of Saudi Arabia’s vast sandpits? Could there be a more humane and convenient place for their “re-education” than the ascetic wastes of the Saudi Empty Quarter?
Fisk is suggesting the Turks may be using this situation to pressure Saudi Arabia (and the US/Israel) to come get their fighters.
Surely the Saudis, who would according to Trump “gladly withdraw from Yemen”, could accommodate the lot of them, saving the West – yet again – from “world terror” while sparing themselves a second tape from Erdogan and the sudden and most inconvenient discovery of body parts from a victim whose demise may have been known – or maybe not – to Mohammed bin Salman.
The Russians must surely approve. (YUP) The Americans, too. (not so sure about that) The Saudis would surely be making a sacrifice for all of us to take on so onerous a burden as the desert imprisonment of the Isis and Nusrah legions inside the kingdom itself. After all, these legions of crucifiers and executioners – I’m talking about Isis, of course – would certainly abide by prison rules when their guards are such experts in publicly chopping off the heads of alleged drug-addicts and child murderers with the sword, not to mention the dismemberment of a journalist with a bone saw.

Can we see a deal in the making here? The Yemen war comes to an end (thanks to its arms-selling enablers in the West) and the Syrian war reaches its peaceful finale with the blessing of Vladimir Putin. Of the $450bn Saudi Arabia has promised to spend on weapons in the US – let’s have no more talk of a piece of paper – $110bn will go to Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon “and many other great US defence contractors”. Adel al-Jubair’s “vision of light” – Saudi Arabia, of course – can go to war with Iran’s “vision of darkness which seeks to spread sectarianism throughout the region”.
A deal in the making? Seems entirely plausible. Look at all the perceived wins to be had...
Idlib situation settled. Turkey & Russia can claim Sochi success. Idlib will be cleared of terrorists. Syria can, hopefully, take that territory back. The US and Saudi Arabia garner some good PR over the Yemen situation.  The neo liberalist plunder of Saudi Arabia can start in earnest. And the status quo will remain.. Sunni vs Shia.

Plus Israel will have Saudi Arabia back in her fold.
Perhaps there is a riddle in the process of being unraveled, right now?
One that will take us all to the next scenario/situation.
Khashoggi may have had a certain vision of darkness as they put the plastic bag over his head in the Saudi consulate last month but in the Middle East, the good guys don’t always come out on top. The war with Iran must be fought. The war against the Shiites must be fought. Israel and Netanyahu – notice how those names have so far eluded us in our woeful tale today? will be satisfied with their "secret" Saudi alliance against Iran.
Boeing and Lockheed Martin will flourish, along with many other great US defence contractors. And the Saudi crown prince – unlike Kashoggi – will be assured of a long life and an honourable burial in old age. Preferably in one piece.

A bit more on Idlib going back to August:

Khashoggi- if you can stand it?
