So far I don’t feel compelled to address the coronavirus or Trumps new map for peace in any substantive form. The coronavirus is garnering an excessive amount of coverage already. As for Trump’s idea of a “peace” plan, this was always going to be more pieces of Palestine for Israel’s expansionary benefit.  The very same plan is unfolding in the wider region around Israel. Trump has never hidden the fact that his primary concern was for Israel. Shrugs shoulders.

Central Bankers Hold Rates

The news that the US Fed held rates steady while committing to higher inflation is of more interest to me. Particularly when one considers that the Bank of England held their rate, which will be inflationary

Financial Times
The Bank of England on Thursday voted to keep interest rates on hold at 0.75 per cent as its Monetary Policy Committee decided the improvement in business sentiment since the general election made an immediate cut unnecessary.
As did Canada. Bank of Canada holds interest rate, but cuts growth forecasts as economy's engine loses momentum

The EU is looking at ending negative interests rates.
Under growing pressure over record low interest rates, the European Central Bank has decided it's time to give its unconventional policies another look.
The central bank on Thursday launched a review of its strategy, the first since 2003. The ECB is expected to spend the next year evaluating the tools it uses to maintain stable prices, including interest rates and bond purchases. It will also examine how it can take climate change into account.
"We have to look comprehensively at the effectiveness of our monetary policy," President Christine Lagarde told reporters at a press conference in Frankfurt.
The ECB first introduced negative interest rates for the 19 countries that use the euro in 2014 in a bid to boost inflation and economic activity following the region's debt crisis. But it has faced increased calls to put an end to a policy that's dragged on for longer than initially expected

I’m getting the idea that the banksters are looking to increase taxation through higher inflation while the US debt is deflated away. What’s going on with these types of moves?

Is this a means of waging financial warfare against China? Thinking about the vast holdings that China has in US debt. In tandem with the coronavirus outbreak, which could wreak havoc on the Chinese economy.

China Owns How Much US Debt?
  • China owns about $1.1 trillion in U.S. debt, or a bit more than the amount Japan owns.
  • 5%The amount of U.S. debt that is held by Chinese entities.

China took the top spot among foreign creditors at $1.123 trillion, followed by Japan, at $1.042 trillion, as of December 2018.
How is increased inflationary pressure going to affect the consumer? In the US?  In Canada?
In the EU? In the UK? And likely Australia, as well? What other the global implications should we consider?  This all feels very coordinated. But, why exactly? Anybody?

Fed Decision on Interest Rates
The central bank’s Federal Open Market Committee said Wednesday it will hold its benchmark funds rate in a range between 1.5% to 1.75%, where it has been since the latter part of last year.
The committee adjusted the language in its statement to reflect that policy is geared toward “inflation returning to the Committee’s symmetric 2 percent objective.”
The decision was unanimous. Several board members last year objected to the Fed’s rate cuts.
WASHINGTON — The Federal Reserve held interest rates steady at its meeting this week and tweaked its post-meeting statement to reflect what appears to be a stronger commitment to nudge up inflation.
Meeting market expectations, the central bank’s Federal Open Market Committee said Wednesday it will hold its benchmark funds rate between 1.5% to 1.75%, a range where it has been since the latter part of last year.

The decision marked the second straight meeting the Fed made no changes to rates following three consecutive reductions in 2019. The rate sets the standard for what banks charge each other for overnight lending but also is used as a benchmark for much consumer debt.

Little changed in the post-meeting statement, save for what could be interpreted as a bit more resolution toward raising what has been a lackluster pace of inflation. The committee adjusted the language to reflect that policy is geared toward “inflation returning to the Committee’s symmetric 2 percent objective.”

That language differed from the long-standing boilerplate statement that the Fed was looking to get inflation “near” the benchmark that it considers healthy for a growing economy.

In recent months, Fed officials have expressed concern over the inability to get inflation to the 2% level. While consumers welcome low prices, the Fed worries that low expectations will continue to keep inflation and, consequently, interest rates at below-normal levels, thus providing little flexibility to cut during future downturns.

Officials hope they can jawbone inflation higher by committing to keeping rates low until the inflation level rises. They even have indicated, through the “symmetric” terminology, that they will allow inflation to run above target for a while.

“We wanted to underscore our commitment to 2% not being a ceiling, to inflation running symmetrically around 2% and we’re not satisfied with inflation running below 2%,” Fed Chairman Jerome Powell said during his post-meeting news conference.

Powell said the change to the statement came following discussions at December’s meeting, when some members through “near” was a concession to sub-2% inflation.

Elsewhere, there were few changes in the statement.

The only other adjustment was a reduction in the characterization of consumer spending. That was cut from “strong” in December to “moderate” at this week’s two-day meeting.

While the Federal kept its benchmark rate steady, it did make an adjustment to the interest it pays on funds stored at the central bank. The Fed boosted the interest on excess reserves rate, known as IOER, 5 basis points to 1.6%.

Otherwise, though, the statement continued to see the labor market as “strong” and economic growth as “rising at a moderate rate.”

The decision was unanimous. Several board members last year objected to the Fed’s rate cuts.

Syrian Army captures Maaret al-Numan, strategic M5 highway in Idlib- Russian Military Save RT Correspondent

Long term readers should be aware of the importance of the M5 highway for Syria? Since it's been covered in numerous reports.

Defense Post
Syrian government forces recaptured a strategic northwestern highway town from jihadist and allied rebels Wednesday, January 29, in the latest blow to the country’s last major opposition bastion.
Not really the "last" opposition bastion...
Maaret al-Numan, a former anti-government protest hotspot turned ghost town after weeks of bombardment, lies on a key highway connecting the capital Damascus to Syria’s second city Aleppo.

The M5 artery has long been in the sights of the government as it seeks to revive a moribund economy ravaged by almost nine years of war.

“Our forces managed in the past few days to stamp out terrorism in many villages and towns,” including Maaret al-Numan, an army spokesperson said.

In 2011, Maaret al-Numan was one of the first towns in the northwestern province of Idlib to rise up against the Damascus government.

The following year, it was captured by rebels fighting against President Bashar al-Assad’s rule.

It is the latest town to fall in a Russian-backed offensive on the Idlib region this year.
After Maaret al-Numan’s recapture, the Syrian army was bent on continuing the fight “until all Syrian soil has been cleansed of terrorism,” it said in a statement.

On Wednesday, loyalist forces swept the town for booby traps and unexploded ordnance after all rebels were either killed or withdrew, the U.K.-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
To the north of Maaret al-Numan, the front line had been pushed back to within 10 km (six miles) of Saraqeb, the next town on the M5 highway, its director Rami Abdel Rahman said.

Russia’s RT television network said Wednesday that one of its correspondents was seriously wounded by shellfire whilst reporting on Maaret al-Numan’s capture.
The news about injured correspondent has been reported in other outlets

Russian Military Doctors Save Correspondent
Russian military medical workers have saved the life of Wafa Shabrouney, a female journalist of RT Arabic who has been injured in the Syrian province of Idlib, the Russian Defence Ministry said on Thursday.
"By the decision of Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, military doctors of the Russian forces in Syria have promptly come to the Hama city hospital, where Wafa Shabrouney has been taken, to assist their Syrian colleagues through providing consultations," the Defence Ministry said in a press release.
Shabrouney was then taken to Russia's Hmeymim airbase on a transport helicopter, which was also carrying a team of military doctors.
"Over the night, Shabrouney received comprehensive treatment. The doctors held two telemedicine consultations with leading experts of the Kirov Military Medical Academy and the Burdenko Main Military Clinical Hospital," the ministry added.
Later on Thursday, RT and Sputnik Editor-in-Chief Margarita Simonyan thanked Defence Minister Shoigu and the Russian military for saving the journalist's life.
"I want to bow thanks to our military and personally to Sergei Shoigu for the rescue of Wafa. This is simply a miracle. Yesterday, when our journalist was seriously wounded as a result of a mine explosion near Idlib, where there is no adequate medical service and where local doctors assessed her chance to survive as very low as she had already lost consciousness — Shoigu sent Russian military doctors within minutes to help the Syrians at the local hospital where Wafa was taken to," Simonyan wrote on her Telegram channel.

ISIS Sleeper Cell Attacks In Kirkuk, Twice in Just One Week.

Kurdish media is reporting on these attacks. Considering the symbiosis between the Kurds and ISIS..... Surely it's just a matter of time before the best ISIS fighters in the whole world, the  Usrael Kurds, simply have to go "fight ISIS" enabling them to grab disputed Kirkuk- How convenient is that?

Kurdistan 24
Islamic State sleeper cells launched an attack on an Iraqi army position in the southern outskirts of Kirkuk on Wednesday, killing at least two soldiers, according to security sources.
The Islamic State militants launched their attack late on Wednesday night at an army post in Kirkuk on the road between Daquq (home base for PKK) and the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, security sources told Kurdistan 24.
According to the sources, violent clashes erupted between the terrorists and members of the Iraqi army. At least two soldiers were killed in the altercation.
Iraq’s security media cell later revealed in a statement that the Islamic State attack had targeted the fourth company in the first regiment of the 45th Army Brigade. The statement also confirmed the two deaths.
Neither the security sources nor the media cell mentioned whether the clashes had caused casualties among the terror group.
Another security source said the Islamic State sleeper cells had ambushed the army, which prompted the soldiers to respond by opening fire.
This is the second attack by the so-called Islamic State against the Iraqi army in Kirkuk within a week.
BAS news

The people and officials of the ethnically mixed Iraqi town of Tuz Khurmatu, 170 km north of Baghdad, talk about a new group that raises white flags decorated by the head of a lion drawn in black and carries out almost daily rocket attacks on the town, its surroundings and the suburbs of the nearby province of Kirkuk.

“They are Kurdish militants (and are) joined by Daesh militants who fled the neighboring areas,” Hussien said. “They are sleeper cells that were waiting for the right time and place to resume their activities.”

Who really attacked the K1 base? Iran? I don't think so.

"In all probability the “attack” on the K- 1 base was a false flag

Brain Networks Allowing For More Complex Cognitive and Social Development Become Active During the Teen Years

Which makes sense, right?
However, at this crucial time in the development in the life of this young man or woman, they are interacting with a screen, on anti social media. Living in an artificial reality of their own creation.  Can't imagine that's going to be a plus for their well being. Or wider society.
Any thoughts you might wish to share on this topic?

Adolescence is a time of major change in life, with increasing social and cognitive skills and independence, but also increased risk of mental illness. While it is clear that these changes in the mind must reflect developmental changes in the brain, it has been unclear how exactly the function of the human brain matures as people grow up from children to young adults.
A team based in the University of Cambridge and University College London has published a major new research study that helps us understand more clearly the development of the adolescent brain.
The study collected functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data on brain activity from 298 healthy young people, aged 14-25 years, each scanned on one to three occasions about 6 to 12 months apart. In each scanning session, the participants lay quietly in the scanner so that the researchers could analyse the pattern of connections between different brain regions while the brain was in a resting state.
The team discovered that the functional connectivity of the human brain – in other words, how different regions of the brain ‘talk’ to each other – changes in two main ways during adolescence.
The brain regions that are important for vision, movement, and other basic faculties were strongly connected at the age of 14 and became even more strongly connected by the age of 25. This was called a ‘conservative’ pattern of change, as areas of the brain that were rich in connections at the start of adolescence become even richer during the transition to adulthood.
However, the brain regions that are important for more advanced social skills, such as being able to imagine how someone else is thinking or feeling (so-called theory of mind), showed a very different pattern of change. In these regions, connections were redistributed over the course of adolescence: connections that were initially weak became stronger, and connections that were initially strong became weaker. This was called a ‘disruptive’ pattern of change, as areas that were poor in their connections became richer, and areas that were rich became poorer.
By comparing the fMRI results to other data on the brain, the researchers found that the network of regions that showed the disruptive pattern of change during adolescence had high levels of metabolic activity typically associated with active re-modelling of connections between nerve cells.
Dr Petra VĂ©rtes, joint senior author of the paper and a Fellow of the mental health research charity MQ, said: “From the results of these brain scans, it appears that the acquisition of new, more adult skills during adolescence depends on the active, disruptive formation of new connections between brain regions, bringing new brain networks ‘online’ for the first time to deliver advanced social and other skills as people grow older.”
Professor Ed Bullmore, joint senior author of the paper and head of the Department of Psychiatry at Cambridge, said: “We know that depression, anxiety and other mental health disorders often occur for the first time in adolescence – but we don't know why. These results show us that active re-modelling of brain networks is ongoing during the teenage years and deeper understanding of brain development could lead to deeper understanding of the causes of mental illness in young people.”

Stupid is As Stupid Does “ Genetically Modified “Self Limiting” Moths Successfully Released?

Won’t be to far down the road before some of us will be reading about the disastrous affects of this, for profit and believe me this is a for profit only venture. Despite the ‘green’ spin, this is about profit, control and control for profit. And NOTHING else.

Round up contaminated everything and it wasn’t supposed to.. Creating superweeds galore.... but believe the company looking to make massive profits when they state this "self limiting moth"  is hunky dory & environmentally friendly. Though it will undoubtedly generate lotsa green.

Some weeds have built defences against multiple herbicides, making them even harder to manage. In one central Illinois field, researchers found a pigweed species resistant to five different classes of herbicide, one of which had never been used there, said Aaron Hager, professor in the University of Illinois’s crop sciences department.

Genetically Engineered Moth Brings Hope for Reducing insecticide use ( Obama was all about hope too. That didn't work out so good either
"Oxitec’s self-limiting insects carry a gene that, when passed to offspring, prevents female caterpillars from surviving. Males with this gene are released to seek out and mate with wild females, resulting in fewer pest moths reaching adulthood in the next generation, thus crashing the pest population.

The new study marks a historic milestone because it describes the first open-field release of any self-limiting insect in North America, and the world’s first open-field release of a self-limiting, genetically engineered agricultural pest.

Entitled “First Field Release of a Genetically Engineered, Self-Limiting Agricultural Pest Insect: Evaluating its Potential for Future Crop Protection,” the study was published today in the peer-reviewed journal “Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology” and is free online for anyone to access.

The Cornell researchers, led by Professor Anthony Shelton in the Department of Entomology at Cornell University’s New York State Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva, NY, found that the engineered strain of diamondback moth had similar field behaviors to unmodified moths.

After releasing the insects in several waves in a specially-planted circular cabbage field, the scientists subsequently recaptured the moths on pheromone traps and studied how far they had travelled and how many survived in real-world field conditions.

They found that 95 percent of the moths of both strains remained within 35 metres of the release sites, and that both strains had a similar longevity after release. The researchers conclude in the paper that this new data, combined with complementary laboratory studies on mating behavior, indicate that bi-weekly releases of Oxitec self-limiting male diamondback moths should “effectively suppress populations of pest P. xylostella in the field.”
What about the unaccounted for 5%?

British Petroleum Pulls Out of Iraq's Giant Kirkuk Oilfield

The 'shit's gonna hit the fan' (The point at which "the shit hits the fan" is the point at which an already unstable situation devolves into utter chaos, often in spite of--or even due to--a higher authority's attempt to control it. )

As was written here previously:  Last time...US Escalation in Iraq: Taking Kirkuk & Further Entrenching the US in the Region , feel free to read further back still including reports from 2017
This is about Kirkuk. Control of territory. Control of resources. And most likely a challenge to Russia. As well as Turkey.

Kirkuk, disputed and resource rich

I've talked the remake of the region for so long now... we're not getting into that in any detail, except to say it's factor in the taking of Kirkuk.
Kirkuk is disputed territory. Which means the Kurds claim it as theirs. Iraq says it is not. There are resources and lots of them ready to be exploited and controlled.
To conclude: The US is using the pretext of the protests, the likely false flag attack on the K1 base to bring in additional troops in order to take back the Kirkuk territory held by the Iraqi state government. That's how this all looks to me at this time. Where it goes...??

And suddenly BP is pulling out?  As "expansion plans stall"
Iraq was hoping BP would help it triple output from the field, to one million barrels per day (Mmbpd) – more than 20% of Iraq’s current production and 1% of global output.

But BP’s contract was put on hold in 2014 when the Iraqi army collapsed in the face of Islamic State’s advance in northern and western Iraq, allowing the Kurdish regional government (KRG) to take control of the Kirkuk region.
Baghdad regained full control of the deposit from the regional government in 2017, after a failed Kurdish independence referendum, at which point BP resumed its field studies, Reuters reported.
Kirkuk is estimated to contain roughly nine billion barrels of recoverable oil, according to BP.

Lots of money to be made. And BP walks away. Additional link
BP's contract expires and they walk away
Kirkuk has one of the oldest and most extensive oilfields in the Middle East, estimated to have nine billion barrels of recoverable oil as well as substantial gas reserves. The province is one of the disputed territories claimed by both the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the Federal Government of Iraq.
The dispute, which is set to worsen is the reason BP has walked away. Especially with ISIS making a come back.  It's certainly a financial blow to the Federal Government of Iraq.
Gee, who'd want that?
Who wants Iraq destroyed.
So a new creation can emerge from the ashes?
A block on the new silk road.
A friend for Israel. And so forth. And so on.
All points previously discussed here at the blog.

The Chemical Manipulation Of Humanity: Brain Damage With Your Fries- Cooking Oil (Soy) and Neurological Changes

The chemical manipulation of humanity has been an ongoing concern of mine, for some time now.  We can and should call it a dysgenics program, because it is. I do include the promotion of veganism as dysgenic.  Dysgenic is the antonym to eugenics.
Hence dysgenic "having or causing a detrimental effect on the race" (1909)
Eugenics is most often presented as having been  undertaken to improve humanity.  Perhaps? Or not? It's too loaded of a concept. Who decides what is improvement? Who decides who needs improving? You get the idea?  What is never mentioned in the standard eugenics presentation, you know good intentions/bad outcomes, is that dysgenics can and will cause the  degradation of humanity. Creating sick, weak feeble, beings by manipulating the food, medicine, environment, diets etc, making us unhealthy and dependent on the for profit, medical, banking and chemical industry. Dysgenics, the  goal of creating detrimental effects in generations of people via the manipulation or alteration of our genetics is a very profitable program. (Think about the cost of genetic medicines?) The alterations to the living organism that will change the offspring permanently or until the dysfunction may be naturally corrected  certainly offers much benefit to those in we should not allow to lead us.
Bertrand Russell’s quote about selectively breeding for congenital differences between the elites and the masses, until they become a ‘different species’ is the crux of the elite dysgenics that has been practiced against the masses “making a revolt of the plebs, unthinkable. “As unthinkable as an organized insurrection of sheep against the practice of eating of mutton“
The chemical manipulation of humanity- is a huge problem. A real problem. A toxic problem. One that is already affecting generations of people.  Think autism. Alzheimers. Infertility. Cancer.  For those who may be unaware I'm referencing "Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals" (including soy)

Unlike the concocted ‘global warming’ nonsense, this real issue garners no attention. Has no celebrity endorsement. Has no excessively indulged and promoted cult leader aka Greta Thunberg to “shame’ the elite asses in a global psyop of epic proportions. (Davos/UN)

Below is a long overdue installment of the chemical manipulation of humanity series.
As my hubby began to read this RT article, I knew immediately, it was soy oil.
Sure enough as he read on, it was. Included below is the article to original study which ends with this warning
“If there’s one message I want people to take away, it’s this: reduce consumption of soybean oil,” Deol said about the most recent study.
RT: Would you like brain damage with that? America’s favorite cooking oil causes neurological changes, says animal study
"New research has shown that despite being marketed as a healthy alternative, soybean oil, America’s most popular oil, causes neurological changes in the brains of mice, and may contribute to autism and dementia in humans.

Extracted from the seeds of soybeans and used in everything from fast food to animal feed and even baby formula, soybean oil is easily the most widely consumed oil in the US, ubiquitous in the national cuisine.

It’s in McDonald’s fries, Pizza Hut crust, and the “healthy” 9-grain bread used for your Subway sandwich.

But what is really shocking about their latest findings is the effect soybean oil seems to have on the brain."
From Alzheimer’s to autism

The study is published in Endocrinology, a scientific journal, and it shows that when soybean oil is fed to mice it has major impact on their hypothalamus, an area of the brain crucial for regulating mood and behaviour.
More worryingly, it even affected over 100 of the mice’s genes, including one for controlling oxytocin, the love and bonding hormone. Soybean-fed mice showed lower levels of oxytocin in the hypothalamus. Other genes affected had to do with metabolic and hormone pathways, including the insulin pathway, synonymous with diabetes. There was also upregulation of genes associated with anxiety, depression, and schizophrenia.
An entitled elitist,  pushing a "brave new world" dystopia,  would view messed up  love and bonding hormones as very convenient.
"Considering the evidence, the authors believe that soybean oil could increase the risk of Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and autism."
America’s most widely consumed oil causes genetic changes in the brain
"New UC Riverside research shows soybean oil not only leads to obesity and diabetes, but could also affect neurological conditions like autism, Alzheimer’s disease, anxiety, and depression.
Used for fast food frying, added to packaged foods, and fed to livestock, soybean oil is by far the most widely produced and consumed edible oil in the U.S., according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. In all likelihood, it is not healthy for humans. "

chart comparing edible oils in the U.S.
Chart depicts consumption of edible oils in the U.S. for 2017/18. (USDA)

"It certainly is not good for mice. The new study, published this month in the journal Endocrinology, compared mice fed three different diets high in fat: soybean oil, soybean oil modified to be low in linoleic acid, and coconut oil.
The same UCR research team found in 2015 that soybean oil induces obesity, diabetes, insulin resistance, and fatty liver in mice. Then in a 2017 study, the same group learned that if soybean oil is engineered to be low in linoleic acid, it induces less obesity and insulin resistance.
However, in the study released this month, researchers did not find any difference between the modified and unmodified soybean oil’s effects on the brain. Specifically, the scientists found pronounced effects of the oil on the hypothalamus, where a number of critical processes take place.
“The hypothalamus regulates body weight via your metabolism, maintains body temperature, is critical for reproduction and physical growth as well as your response to stress,” said Margarita Curras-Collazo, a UCR associate professor of neuroscience and lead author on the study."

oxytocin in the hypothalamus
Comparison of oxytocin hormone in the hypothalamus of mice fed three different diets. The image on the far right shows very little oxytocin in mice fed a soybean oil diet. (UCR)

"The team determined a number of genes in mice fed soybean oil were not functioning correctly. One such gene produces the “love” hormone, oxytocin. In soybean oil-fed mice, levels of oxytocin in the hypothalamus went down.
The research team discovered roughly 100 other genes also affected by the soybean oil diet. They believe this discovery could have ramifications not just for energy metabolism, but also for proper brain function and diseases such as autism or Parkinson’s disease. However, it is important to note there is no proof the oil causes these diseases.
Additionally, the team notes the findings only apply to soybean oil — not to other soy products or to other vegetable oils.
“Do not throw out your tofu, soymilk, edamame, or soy sauce,” said Frances Sladek, a UCR toxicologist and professor of cell biology. “Many soy products only contain small amounts of the oil, and large amounts of healthful compounds such as essential fatty acids and proteins.”
A caveat for readers concerned about their most recent meal is that this study was conducted on mice, and mouse studies do not always translate to the same results in humans.
Also, this study utilized male mice. Because oxytocin is so important for maternal health and promotes mother-child bonding, similar studies need to be performed using female mice.
One additional note on this study — the research team has not yet isolated which chemicals in the oil are responsible for the changes they found in the hypothalamus. But they have ruled out two candidates. It is not linoleic acid, since the modified oil also produced genetic disruptions; nor is it stigmasterol, a cholesterol-like chemical found naturally in soybean oil.
Identifying the compounds responsible for the negative effects is an important area for the team’s future research.
“This could help design healthier dietary oils in the future,” said Poonamjot Deol, an assistant project scientist in Sladek’s laboratory and first author on the study.
“The dogma is that saturated fat is bad and unsaturated fat is good. Soybean oil is a polyunsaturated fat, but the idea that it’s good for you is just not proven,” Sladek said.
Indeed, coconut oil, which contains saturated fats, produced very few changes in the hypothalamic genes.
“If there’s one message I want people to take away, it’s this: reduce consumption of soybean oil,” Deol said about the most recent study."

Sadr’s Million Man Manipulation Guarantees Increased Violence & Deeper Entrenchment of Occupation

Ah, ya, so about Sadr? My view? Proxy for the occupiers/occupation.
Protests encouraged to entirely demoralize and denigrate the present day leadership. And create chaos on the street. Sadr is playing power games, using the minions as his fodder.
The million man march? Bringer of chaos. By design.

I am certainly not stating,or implying the reality of this anger against the occupiers/ation as unreasonable or unexpected.

I’m suggesting this angst is being manipulated.

Sadr’s call put fuel to the fire. And then, conveniently, he withdraws support for the march...
Preferring to remain "neutral" Mission Accomplished.

Leaving the useful idiots on their own. To become this weeks victims of violence for our mind control media. Their plight will be the sights on our tell a vision screen.
And what will be required? Necessitated? To quell the chaos?  Deeper entrenchment of occupation.

Sadr manipulated the situation in a classic “Let’s you and him fight” type scenario

We've all seen this manipulation before

Let's You and Him Fight, Briefly:

Two people, parties/groups coming to blows because they have been manipulated into a struggle.
Also known as playing one against the other.

Games People Play (as a ritual the tendency is too tragedy)

Once Sadr got the desired response, attained the goal, suddenly out of the blue, Sadr claims neutrality.
Too late "to avoid internal strife" isn't it?
Iraqi cleric Sadr scraps anti-U.S. demonstrations "to avoid internal strife" - office
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Populist Iraqi cleric Moqtaqa al-Sadr on Sunday called off demonstrations against the U.S. embassy “to avoid internal strife”, his office said.
Sadr had earlier called for the demonstrations to take place in Baghdad and other cities
Sadr says he will now remain neutral in Iraqi protests
Sadr's ploy has left protestors out on the streets with the government trying to reign it in. Job well done US proxy Sadr! Well played.

More Iraqi protesters dead as crackdown intensifies, Sadr withdraws support
Iraqi security forces torched make-shift tents of protesters in Baghdad and other southern cities on Saturday, firing live rounds and tear gas canisters that reportedly killed at least seven demonstrators and injured dozens more, sources said the following day.

Firebrand Iraqi cleric Muqtada al-Sadr on Friday said he would stand neutral amid ongoing anti-government protests, appearing to withdraw his support for the demonstrations that began in early October calling for the ouster of the ruling elite.

In a statement on his official twitter page, Sadr proclaimed success in mobilizing thousands of his supporters to partake in the “million-man” rally he called for to demand the expulsion of American forces from Iraq.
Bogus AP Headline:  Iraqi protesters defy top cleric and return to the streets

The protestors aren't "defying" Sadr. He stated neutrality in the situation.  Meaning he's neither here nor there. What's there to defy?
On Saturday, hours after al-Sadr’s supporters left protest sites in Baghdad and some southern cities, including Basra, security forces swooped in to clear areas of demonstrators and torch their sit-in tents. At least four protesters were killed in the crackdown.
In a statement from his office, al-Sadr asked Iraqis “who reject the American occupation” to gather at key assembly points later that evening. A spokesperson from his office later said the decision had been reversed.

Related: US Escalation in Iraq: Taking Kirkuk & Further Entrenching the US in the Region

Where we saw protests resulted in increased US troops and further entrenchment of the occupiers. It's the same game, on a bigger scale. The US wants to stay. They want to dig in. Sadr has been assisting them all along. The big Usrael machine has plans for Iraq and the region. Chaos suits them just fine. With Sadr's help... chaos and expanded occupation is guaranteed.

Time will tell if my assessment is correct, but, so far....... it's looking spot on!

Update: Cue the Rocket Fire/US Embassy/Green Zone

Five rockets have reportedly landed in the vicinity of the US embassy in Iraq’s capital city of Baghdad. It was not immediately clear whether the projectiles inflicted any damage or casualties.
The missiles hit Baghdad’s heavily-fortified Green Zone, AFP said, citing security sources.

ICC's Case Against Israel & An Effacing Trudeau Tarnishes Canada's Perceived Do Gooder Reputation

Yes, an effacing Trudeau. Hard to believe isn’t it? Still, it’s true.  The attention hound gad fly Prime Minster doesn't want any attention in this regard, since it's tarnishes Canada's alleged reputation for justice.  Bibi is already and will be continuing to wield the antisemitism hammer, particularly at the upcoming 75th anniversary of the Auschwitz Liberation.

Prince Charles, Putin, Pence, Macron and others in attendance. Trudeau as well?

"A fierce Israeli campaign against the International Criminal Court, including a demand for punishment of the court’s officials, has left Canada caught in a dilemma on the issue.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, intensifying a campaign that has been under way for weeks, went on a Christian television network on Tuesday to urge its viewers to “rise up” against the ICC and demand sanctions against “everyone” at the court in The Hague.

The Israeli government, outraged at a possible ICC investigation of alleged war crimes against Palestinians, has been asking countries around the world to fight the proposal.

Mr. Netanyahu is also reported to be planning to lobby for support on the ICC issue from dozens of world leaders visiting Jerusalem this week for a Holocaust memorial to mark the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.

The ICC’s chief prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, announced on Dec. 20 that there was a “reasonable basis” to conclude that Israeli authorities have committed war crimes in the Palestinian territories. She also cited evidence of war crimes by Palestinian armed groups. She asked the ICC to rule on whether the court has jurisdiction in the matter.

According to Israeli media, the Netanyahu government is listing Canada as one of Israel’s supporters on the issue.

The government of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, not wanting to appear either anti-Israel or anti-ICC, is trying to maintain a low profile on the proposed investigation. Canada played a key role in creating the ICC in the late 1990s, and still helps finance it with millions of dollars annually, including $10.6-million this year."
In response to questions from The Globe and Mail, the Global Affairs department declined to say whether Canada has responded to a letter from Mr. Netanyahu last month, in which he asked Mr. Trudeau to condemn the ICC prosecutor’s decision and to “acknowledge there is not a Palestinian state.”

Despite the Trudeau government’s refusal to make any public criticism of the ICC over the proposed investigation, Israeli newspapers – citing sources in the Netanyahu government – have described Canada as an ally of the campaign. They have reported that Canada responded to the Netanyahu letter by indicating support for Israel’s opposition to an investigation.
The Global Affairs Department has declined to say whether Canada has responded to a letter from Bibi. Why? Because the next question would be, well what was the response?

ICC delays jurisdiction ruling on Israel war crimes case over document length

Judges at the International Criminal Court in the Hague rejected a request to rule on the possibility of opening an investigation against Israel and Hamas for possible war crimes, citing technical issues with the length of the document.

The ICC’s chief prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, said last month that there was a “reasonable basis” to open a war crimes probe into Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip as well as Israeli settlement construction in the West Bank.

She also asked the court to determine whether she has territorial jurisdiction before proceeding with the case.

Her request to the court, which exceeded the 30-page limit, was accompanied by a request to extend the page limit to 110 pages, citing “the unique and complex factual and legal circumstances in this situation.”

In a ruling Tuesday, the judges approved the request for the page extension, but said it was “inappropriate” to ask for the extension at the same time as the 110-page document was submitted, sending Bensouda back to the drawing board to resubmit the request.

“A party or participant is formally authorized to file a document exceeding the specific page limit set out in the Regulations of the Court only once a chamber has granted a request to vary the page limit,” a statement from the ICC read.

The judges have 120 days to rule after they receive the new request.
According to Haaretz, the ruling means a decision on Bensouda pushing ahead with the case will be delayed by several months.

International law expert Nick Kaufman wrote on Twitter that the decision was a “slap in the face” of Bensouda.

The decision came as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu prepared to step up his campaign against the ICC and Bensouda, with plans to rally support from leaders gathering in Jerusalem for a major Holocaust commemoration event.
Israel, which is not a member of the ICC, has said the court has no jurisdiction and accused Bensouda of being driven by anti-Semitism.
  • Jerusalem Post
“Following the outrageous decision by the ICC prosecutor, Israel has reached out to several countries,” a government source said. “Many of them have said that they do not agree to the ICC’s assault on the principle of national sovereignty, and the ICC has no jurisdiction in the case at hand.”
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo argued on twitter that “Israel is not a state party to the ICC.”
“We firmly oppose this unjustified inquiry that unfairly targets Israel,” Pompeo wrote. “The path to lasting peace is through direct negotiations.”Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said it is “concerned” about Bensouda’s proposal, and said that it does not see the Palestinians as party to the Rome Statute because it does not recognize a Palestinian state.
"The decision has sent shockwaves across Israel’s political and military establishment. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described it as “a dark day for truth and justice” and was quick to accuse the ICC of anti-Semitism. Israel’s Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit argued that the court had no jurisdiction in the West Bank or Gaza. The Foreign Ministry said the The Hague had no authority to deliberate over the Israeli-Palestinian issue, adding that Palestine was not a sovereign state and therefore could not join the statute or grant the ICC its criminal jurisdiction.

The scope of the proposed investigation, which includes East Jerusalem, will focus on the building of illegal settlements, the transfer of Israelis into occupied territories, allegations of torture, summary killings and demolition of Palestinian homes.
Israel’s claim that the ICC has no jurisdiction over the West Bank is contradictory. It indirectly acknowledges that the territory is occupied – an illegal act – while claiming that a Palestinian state does not exist. Even more ironic was the Foreign Ministry’s assertion that the proposed probe constituted “the criminalization of the conflict which could only lead to more polarization between the parties, instead of a diplomatic process which brings them together.” What diplomatic process is Israel referring to? The Palestinians have been calling on Israel to negotiate a political settlement for more than a decade now and it is the absence of such a process that has driven them to the ICC as a last resort.

Reams of UN resolutions that back Palestinian rights and condemn the occupation have been issued during the past 50 years and Israel has ignored all of them. The US has taken sides and violated international laws and codes by recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and more recently when US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stated that “The establishment of Israeli civilian settlements in the West Bank is not per se inconsistent with international law.”

The US and Israel will attempt to discredit the ICC – and the accusation that the court is anti-Semitic is only the beginning. Israel will try to redirect the focus from the occupation, which is at the core of the conflict, to Israel’s claim to a Jewish homeland. A biased White House will not hesitate to punish ICC officials in order to impede the court’s work.

But, if the ICC endures and the probe does go on, Israel stands to face a major legal challenge that threatens present and former officials. It is vital that the ICC withstands pressure and follows through with its investigation. For the Palestinians the ICC is a last resort. The UN has been unable to implement its resolutions and penalize Israel for violating international laws and conventions. Israel has been acting with impunity — thanks to blind (not blind support, intentional, thoughtful support)  support from the US. The credibility of the UN and its organizations has been shattered because of Israel which, ironically, was created by a UN resolution."

Australia’s Bushfires Not Caused by Climate Change, Bogus Bushfire Maps and More

 Continuing on..
The report  below is gone from Epoch Times. Down the memory hole. Gee I wonder why?
Big Brother in action?  Not politically correct?  Too much truth?
I'd say, in my opinion, all of the above.
Fortunately I'd saved the disappeared article and more!
 Epoch Times
"Australia’s current bushfires have been caused by increased fuel loads, not climate change, according to bushfire expert and leading scientist David Packham.
Packham, an Order of Australia recipient and former Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) bushfire expert, warned Victoria’s Inspector-General for Emergency Management five years ago that “a massive bushfire disaster will occur” if the annual fuel reduction burning target of 5 percent was not doubled or tripled.
Fuel levels have since reached their most dangerous levels in thousands of years, Packham added.
Packham’s prediction has proven true as Australia grapples with massive bushfires across the country. Across six states, more than 6.3 million hectares have been burned. Comparatively, around 800,000 hectares were lost during the 2018 California fires, reported the BBC.
At least 25 people have died in the fires, reported News Corp.
In an interview with 2GB’s Jane Marwick in December 2018, Packham said he was surprised to hear former fire chiefs lay the blame for Australia’s devastating bushfires on climate change"
“Anybody who knows anything about the principles, and a little bit about the science of bushfire behavior, knows that that is not the case,” he said. “I can’t believe that they’re saying things that they didn’t believe just to push a semi-religious myth about climate change.”
According to Packham, fuel is the main component for a bushfire; the amount of fuel determines fire ferocity and the rate at which the fire moves. Other components include hot, dry, windy weather and ignitions.
Fuel is the main component for any fire. Not just a bush fire.
“For example it is very hot and very dry, and sometimes very windy in the center of Australia. But there’s no fuel,” he said. “Occasionally there is fuel after a very good year when they have a lot of rain. The next year becomes a problem in the center of Australia, and huge fires take place there, because now at last there’s fuel.”
Burning is the most “economic way to control the fuel over the big areas of Australia,” which was “controlled beautifully by the original inhabitants of Australia” Packham added.
However, Associate Professor Philip Zylstra, from Wollongong University’s Center for Sustainable Ecosystem Solutions, told The Sydney Morning Herald that fuel loads and state government management were not responsible for the fires as “more [burning] has been done in the past decade than in many, many decades.”
Zylstra added that an increase in fuel load burning would instead blanket cities and towns with smoke and create “huge risks” of accidental property damage and mortality.
Packham told 2GB that traditional ways of burning did not involve “scorching the earth” but involved “trickling” little fires, such as over the surface, with no damage to tree crowns.
“You might do an area and might do say 70 percent of the area, so there’s 30 percent of the area where the bigger animals can just go back and sit until the fire has gone through,” he said.
NSW Rural Fire Service Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons said on Jan. 8 that one impediment to hazard reduction burning was the weather.
He added that as the fire season lengthens, a “shrinking window of opportunity” exists for favorable burning periods. Fitzsimmons believes fuel burning to be “absolutely an important factor when it comes to fire management and managing fire in the landscape but it is not the panacea,” reported SBS News.
Last month, New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian blamed arsonists, lightning strikes, unseasonably warm weather, downed power lines, car crashes, and prolonged drought as causes of the Australian fires, reported the Australian Associated Press.
On Jan. 7, the Victorian Aboriginal Heritage Council issued a statement asking Victorians to work with Indigenous Australians in bushfire management. “We must work together with all Victorians to ensure country management is sensitive and practicable,” chairperson Rodney Carter said.
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said on Jan. 5 that he will meet all state leaders to discuss clearing more land and conducting more hazard reduction burns, which were “run and overseen entirely by state governments.”
So, Epoch Times disappearing of the opening article could not have been due to inaccuracies.  Nor was it  'fake news'. Since,  the report posted below, from 2017, contains the same information.  Nearly 3 years ago. David Packham  was speaking very clearly about the enormous dangers of poor forest management. One has to consider that this negligence was intentional knowing full well the inevitable outcome.

David Packham  February 2017 interview   'Victoria's never been in a more dangerous situation'
"The fire danger index was right through the roof. I remember saying, 'I hope I'm wrong about this'. It was clear it was going to be a monumental day."
What has happened in the eight years since Black Saturday infuriates David's scientific mind — it has been applying itself to bushfires since the 1960s when, as a chemist, he first came to understand the physics in terms of heat and mass transfer.
"I have a lot of suppressed anger about all this. But what can I do?"
He hesitates to call it paranoia. But certainly, a preoccupation. A sense of impending, preventable disaster.
"The situation is very, very serious. This state has never been in a more dangerous situation in the last 30,000 years. We are sitting, truly, on a little pile of gun powder and smoking cigarettes.
"What we are looking down is the fires that have taken place that culminated up into Black Saturday, fundamentally all the early ones which burnt about a third of the state in 2003 and 2007, all took place north of the ranges in areas where there weren't too many people exposed.
"Black Saturday exposed a few more, but not really great numbers, compared to places like say Eltham, Warrandyte where you have not a few hundred or the odd thousand but tens of thousands of people exposed."

The Packhams' house in Rosedale, in Victoria's Latrobe Valley, contains an extensive library of bushfire-related books and reports. In truth, there's little need to consult the shelves: David's memory is encyclopaedic.
In retirement, life is full. There is flying his French-made plane, the yacht docked in Paynesville, black and white photography. Not to mention the four acres of grapevines to tend.
The 77-year-old lives on 17 hectares that encompass both river flats and a patch of the last remnant rainforest for possibly 50 kilometres around. In the fern gullies, he's waging a constant battle against blackberries and wombats.
Perhaps somewhat curiously for someone so attuned to the bushfire threat, he's chosen to live directly opposite a massive pine plantation.
The forest represents an enormous fuel source that starts 75 metres from his front door and stretches for 20 to 30km in each direction.
Since Black Saturday, David has been issuing his own fire weather predictions via an email list of subscribers, a practice borne out of a sense that the public wasn't getting accurate, unfiltered information on which to base their decisions on high-risk days.
He says the official messaging has improved, but laments that bushfire policy is still far from adequate, particularly when it comes to preventative burning.
"One of the most difficult things about this issue is there is no acceptable political solution. The only solution that is going to work is to do what the Aborigines did for tens of thousands of years," he says.
"That is totally unacceptable to urbanised Victorians. They do not understand fire. They do not understand the role of fire in the environment, the necessity of fire."
Urbanised dolts! And for god's sakes I'm urbanised but do understand this concept, perhaps because I spend time in the woods, foraging and gathering herbs and , oh yah, I read! Informing myself about the real world. My home. The planet that sustains me. Grrrr......

BBC: Misleading Maps on Australia's bushfires

Another widely shared map of flame icons dotted across the country claims to show "all the fires burning in Australia".

It is taken from the Australian government website MyFireWatch, which uses satellite data to map heat sources.
However the data incorporates "any heat source that is hotter than its surroundings... This may include gas flares, refinery furnaces or highly reflective large industrial roofs", according to its website.

All agenda. All the time.

Fake-Green Zero Carbon Frauds

Ah, yes the fake greens, how I despise you all.  Always with the death sermons from your soap boxes offering "salvation" through global taxation.
Can’t believe this piece is from Counter punch who must have published it as an attempt to come off as anti globalist.  Even a stopped clock is correct twice a day...  Though it’s not likely Counterpunch gets it right that often, this was a breath of fresh air from their usual stale, pale  & dank offerings.

The excellent piece below touches on the fires in Australia... Lots of questions, in general, about that situation. (Will get to that asap)  Let's all  read the featured excerpt, though you should read the entire piece at the link below:

Fake-Green Zero Carbon Frauds

"The IPCC “CO2 causes global warming” position, adopted by a plethora of industries and institutions determined to benefit from its decree, has already been exposed as a fraudulent misrepresentation of the truth. Making CO2 into ‘the devil in our midst’ is an overtly false trail which I have dealt with in an earlier article.*

Observe carefully and you will notice that the great majority of political pronouncements made by leading protagonists of ‘cabal politics’ are subsequently reversed in the actions that follow. Promises of peace are followed-up by acts of war; promises of prosperity for all are followed by a widening of the poverty gap. Claims of trying to stabilize the planet’s climate are followed by acts of wilful destabilisation – and so on.

This ‘reversal of truth’ formula is the trick used by power seeking despots who have adopted dark-side practices designed to suppress – and quite literally reverse – peoples natural propensity for humanitarian expressions of warmth and mutual respect. Instead, turning those qualities into cold and calculating acts of division.

Since our world is currently in the grip of this ‘cabal agenda’ whose goals are not mutable nor flexible, attempts are being made to make it appear that every serious geological/environmental upheaval manifesting on this planet – is happening due to (the phony) ‘global warming’.

The continuous repetition of this mantra by mainstream media is essential for the unquestioned roll-out of the corporate and banker backed ‘Green New Deal/Zero Carbon’ plan (scam) – which is termed ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution’ by the industry that backs it. This is because it promises vast riches to the corporations contracted to build and implement the impossibly large scale infrastructural requirements deemed necessary to shift the world from an almost 100% fossil fuel dependence to a close to 100% dependence on renewable energy.
See today's earlier post, check the chart contained within,  to understand how far we have to go to make the planet 100% dependent on  so called "renewables,"? If that's possible or realistic? Or is it simply more exploitation/profiteering on the parts of those we should not allow to lead us?

The Carbon Wisdom of Rex Murphy “We're freezing! Isn't it great? The carbon tax must be working!”

The heavy dependence upon fossil fuel energies needed in order to make possible this (theoretical) shift, would, in practice, involve an unparalleled asset stripping march across the length and breadth of the planet. Such a situation makes a mockery of the hugely over-hyped UN term ‘sustainability’.
The ‘zero carbon’ cabal, for example, must make it appear that the disastrous fires which have ravaged South East Australia and a significant part of California, are the result of ‘anthropogenic global warming’ and, of course, could not possibly have anything to do with any ‘conspiratorial’ ulterior motives.

Which leads us to ask the following question: just who might benefit from the fact that whole communities have been wiped-out and large forests burned to ashes in these countries?

A recent expose of the Australian position shows successive governments destroying the vital South East Australian river systems by deliberately siphoning-off huge volumes of river water and hoarding it in a large number of specially constructed reservoirs. Not for strategic use in irrigating the surrounding countryside in times of drought, but to sell-off to the highest bidder – including foreign interests – hugely enriching the vendors.

A viciously inhuman policy which includes grossly negligent management of the Australian bush, in which millions of highly flammable gum trees have been allowed to over mature, presenting the perfect fuel for the rapid spreading of extremely dense fires.
It is believed that the real government ambition behind this appalling act of ecocide is to pave the way for the establishment of a super-sized control grid, construction of 5G microwave powered ‘smart cities’ and a new high speed railway link between capital cities. All recognised Agenda 2030/Green New Deal ambitions.

I established in earlier articles that Green New Deal is a key part of the New World Order’s strategic march to power. It is founded on the fictitious ‘greenhouse effect’ science of the IPCC/United Nations; and on the insanely bizarre plan to achieve an end to the use of fossil fuels (‘zero carbon’) by mining and burning vast volumes of oil, coal and gas (fossil fuels) in order to achieve this end!
