a quotation, in honour of the 5th anniversay of the Iraq attack

"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."

-- Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials

  1. As long as people remain ignorant and trust their "leaders" nothing will change. As an American, it is our duty to be an informed citizenry.

  2. "Bush said in a speech at the Pentagon, "The successes we are seeing in Iraq are undeniable...this is a fight America can and must win" President George W. Bush said on Wednesday he had no regrets about the unpopular war in Iraq despite the "high cost in lives and treasure" and declared that the United States was on track for a major victory there."

  4. George Bush said that?
Doesn't it make you wonder, what Iraq war this man is talking about?

    The successes? the successes?
What successess, except for the major corporate profiteering, which I guess, could possibly be how Bush is measuring "the successes"

    thanks for the link!
