Georgia’s Parliament moves from Tiblisi to Kutaisi

Found an interesting comment in the post regarding the US supplying weapons for their terrorists in Syria...

Georgia relocates parliament to international hub of weapons trafficking for Syrian rebels.
History may be funny in describing how massive reconstruction works in Georgia was paid for by Syrian Rebels.
(read the rest, please)

The comment is a  post from this site
It certainly is a look, from another angle, at who is benefiting by arming the rebel/terrorists in Syria
The writing is suggesting that Georgia has been a beneficiary of arms trafficking. Interesting, indeed
But, let's cut to the chase! Georgia moved it's parliament from the constitutionally enshrined location of Tiblisi, some 150 miles/220 kms to the west, to the reportedly run down location of Kutaisi

Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili has inaugurated the country's new parliament building in the city of Kutaisi, some 220 kilometers (150 miles) from the capital Tbilisi.

Why?
 Let's look at some possibilities?

Saakashvili said moving the parliament to Kutaisi, in west-central Georgia, would help unify the country and devolve power from Tbilisi. Maybe.

How about some other reasons?

Going back to the 2008 attack launched by Georgia on Russia. I am reminded, at that time, Russia knocked hard on Tiblisi’s door.

The show of strength must have sent a message to the government in Tiblisi. You are vulnerable.
Perhaps that was enough to encourage the move?

Or?
When we take a look at a map of Georgia and surrounding area. We notice the most direct route to Syria or Iran, across land,  is through eastern Georgia. Is this a reason for concern?
Perhaps.

How about this?
Kutaisi is closer to South Ossettia and Abkhazia.  South Ossettia is the independent state that Georgia launched their attack on in 2008. If Russia were to move on Eastern Georgia, would the Saakashavili government move on South Ossettia and Abkhazia.?

Fortress mentality at play?

Looking at the map below, one can’t help but notice the new capital is surrounded by mountainous areas-

The new location could keep parliament/government safe from outsiders and safely away from most of the Georgian people.

But part of society thinks the real reason behind moving parliament is that Tbilisi is a stronghold of opposition to the current government and they want to get government institutions out of the way of the waves of protest which have rocked the capital every year since 2007. Protest rallies are usually held in front of the parliament building in Tbilisi, which is discomforting to the government.

The new Parliament building

Weapons trafficking must be highly profitable. Or, the American taxpayer is a generous backer?

Isn't Saakashvili making an interesting reference below in light of a movie that will surely big a box office smash??

"President Saakashvili says it is time for Prometheism, a geopolitical strategy to strengthen nationalism as a tool to undermine Russian influence"

Prometheism is a geopolical strategy developed by the Polish leader Józef Piłsudski (1867-1935), aimed at weakening Russia’s influence by supporting nationalistic movements.

The movie I am referring  to is Prometheus
As the Times of India tell us: Prometheus promises shock and awe

Shock and Awe.

  2. This bunch is responsible for what happened in Houla.

As I have said many times before, these are Mercenaries who are paid, armed and trained by US and its gang of terrorist nations, in order to destabilize and weaken Syria. Can it get any more obvious? The Mercenary openly admits that enemies of Syria are sending him arms in order to attack the Syrian Security Forces and Syrian Government, he just openly admitted that he is a Mercenary working for Syria's enemies.

  3. "Might Makes Right" Says Conspirator of Syrian-Iranian Conquest
2005 interview profiles psychology of those behind the Houla Massacre.

"Both the Syrian and Lebanese regimes will be changed- whether they like it or not- whether it’s going to be a military coup or something else… and we are working on it. We know already exactly who’s going to be the replacements. We’re working on it with the Bush administration."

"These guys who came to power, who rule by power, can only be removed by power. This is Machiavelli’s power game. That’s how it is. This is how geopolitics — the war games, power games — work. I know inside out how it works, because I come from a family of politicians for the last 60 years. Look, I have access to the top classified information from the CIA from all over the world. They call me, I advise them. I know exactly what’s going on. And this will happen."

"This Bashar Al Assad-Emil Lahoud regime is going to go whether it’s true or not. When we went to Iraq whether there were weapons of mass destruction or not, the key is — we won. And Saddam is out! Whatever we want, will happen. Iran? We will not let Iran become a nuclear power. We’ll find a way, we’ll find an excuse- to get rid of Iran. And I don’t care what the excuse is. There is no room for rogue states in the world. Whether we lie about it, or invent something, or we don’t… I don’t care. The end justifies the means. What’s right? Might is right, might is right. That’s it. Might is right."

"So Saddam wanted to prove to the whole world he was strong? Well, we’re stronger- he’s out! He’s finished. And Iran’s going to be finished and every single Arab regime that’s like this will be finished. Because there is no room for us capitalists and multinationalists in the world to operate with regimes like this. Its all about money. And power. And wealth… and democracy has to be spread around the world. Those who want to espouse globalization are going to make a lot of money, be happy, their families will be happy. And those who aren’t going to play this game are going to be crushed, whether they like it or not!"

Sunni jihadists from Pak fighting in Syria battlefields

"Foreign Sunni jihadists, including a few from Pakistan, are fighting alongside Syrian rebels who have taken on President Bashar al-Assad"

" In mid-February, an observer with the Arab League in Homs told AFP that "many foreign fighters," including Pakistanis, Afghans, Lebanese, Iraqis, Sudanese, Libyans and Yemenis led most of the fighting and "dominated everybody."

Also covered the Libyan fighters brought into Syria with the help of that great humanitarian
      Tariq Wissam
      (spelling that right?)

So from what Aangirfan has posted, there are even more foreign fighters from a broader cross section of nations!

To answer the question "How Syrian is the FSA?"
      Not, very. If at all.

In fact from what I read, it seems as if whatever else was associated with the parliament would have to move along with it.

    2. A building collapsed today in Kutaisi, two people killed and keep in mind that storage space is needed and how active was this town back in August 2008. The recriminations are already flying. Here are from some old files, now making sense.

Master File, Pattern of Weapons Trafficking, Press TV – Stopping the flow of weapons to Syrian Rebels

      Details on Weapons Smuggling

      Georgia and World on 18 06, 2010 07:42
There has been talk about the involvement of the Georgian government in weapons trafficking in recent years. This activity serves both domestic and foreign interests. Moreover, it is thought that the special services of foreign governments are also involved in international arms trafficking through Georgia.

The countries involved in this business are often named as Israel, Ukraine and Jordan and others. Names of particular individuals involved are also given, as in Georgia, and there is clearly a competition going on between them. Those named include former Georgian Minister of Defense David Kezerashvili and Temur Alasania, the uncle of the current Georgian President. It appears that these individuals are vying for first place in what appears to be a real power struggle, deriving from their respective positions in government, past and present, and their spheres of influence.

“Georgia and the World” has been tracking their contraband activities diligently. We present this report for public scrutiny – and as the newspaper version of a broadcast program prepared by our colleagues at Maestro TV as a special investigative report.
We shall continue to offer investigative reports in this issue, providing our audience with a clear view of what is going on and what kind of people our government is dealing with,

Maestro TV has obtained an important section of a dossier on illegal weapons sales from the Georgian Ministry of State Security. This material was presented on Georgian TV. It is clear why Hillary Clinton was recently in Georgia.

“The United States still uses Georgia exactly for this kind of transport corridor just as the previous government of the US freely did. Not only based on this end user document, as supplied by Mr. Silverman, this document provides solid basis for such an announcement. However, we have other information as well that supports such claims, and we are working now in this direction. The other information which we have that Georgia has showed that Georgia been used for the transportation of the weapons to third countries, and these are likely African and Asian contacts”.

How does this affect the Baku- Tiblisi-Ceyhan Pipeline??
    Anyone?
I had a post from containing commentary from William Engdahl

    http://pennyforyourthoughts2.blogspot.ca/2008/08/chinese-pipeline-that-undercuts.html

"On December 15,(05) the state-owned China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) inaugurated an oil pipeline running from Kazakhstan to northwest China. That pipeline will undercut the geopolitical significance of the Washington-backed Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline which opened this past summer amid big fanfare and support from Washington. The geopolitical chess game for the control of the energy flows of Central Asia and overall of Eurasia from the Atlantic to the China Sea is sharply evident in the latest developments.
Making the Kazakh-China oil pipeline link even more politically interesting, from the standpoint of an emerging Eurasian move towards some form of greater energy independence from Washington, is the fact that China is reportedly considering asking Russian companies to help it fill the pipeline with oil, until Kazakh supply is sufficient."

  15. I'm feeling like a 2nd class citizen (or is that 'subject'?). The other thing that happens is that I can't reply to a particular comment. My comments (when they are published!) just go to the bottom of the line.

Britain and then the US have controlled Eurasia by keeping it poor and separated and forcing trade to go by sea. They between them have always controlled the sea lanes.

But now Russia and China are linking up the whole of Eurasia by overland routes and assisting the development of the other Eurasian countries. So they are working at being free from Western naval dominance.

This is at the heart of the battle for control of Eurasia - the big prize. So UK/US/israel want to pipe the oil and gas to the coasts. The BTC pipeline is meant to control the oil to Europe via the Mediterranean Sea and the oil to Asia via a pipeline from Ceyhan to Haifa, through israel to Eilat to the Red Sea and onto Asia.

Notice that the US is now tightening controls on all the nations bordering on the Red Sea. All this comes to nought if Russia and China can organise the Caucasian Basin oil to go to and through themselves.

Iran has been negotiating a gas pipeline through Pakistan to India and onto China. It will run through Balochistan. Hence the desperate manoeuvring to provoke any sort of fighting amongst these countries by the US for the same reason.

Once Eurasian finance/trade and energy is hooked up internally, UK/US can kiss goodbye to it's world dominance. To Quote Zbig, "Eurasia IS the world".

Western Europe is then on one fringe of it and Japan on the other and the US is around the other side of the world. They are all relegated to the periphery.

  19. The politic blog unser-politikblog.blogspot.de has made an approximately half-hour phone interview with Nun Hatune Dogan on last Thursday. Nun Hatune Dogan has just returned from a lengthy trip through Syria.
Here are the English translations of some core content of the interview with NunHatune Dogan:

The insurgents in Syria are radical Islamists, poor people, who have especially entrenched in the mountains, and get money and weapons from abroad.

The insurgents perform murderous attacks on Syrian soldiers.

The term “Free Syrian Army” (FSA) for the insurgents is largely unknown at the general Syrian population.

The insurgents carry out murderous attacks on civilians, and push these crimes in the shoes of the Syrian government afterwards (SN: false-flag crimes against civilians to blame the Syrian government); they partially wear captured Syrian army uniforms and also drive captured Syrian army vehicles while committing these crimes.

The insurgents attack targeted Christians and Alawites, and they entrench themselves in churches, thus they can then assert that the government would attack churches (SN: and mosques).

The Syrian army does not fire on peaceful demonstrators, the assertion of the “Free Syrian Army” (FSA), they would protect peaceful demonstrators, is a lie. Rather, they are the rebels who abuse the demonstrations to armed provocations.

The Western media coverage of Syria is lying to 95%, it is invented and exaggerated; and the perpetrators and victims of terror in Syria are systematically reversed in the Western reporting.

Should the insurgents, which are supported by the West, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, succeed to overthrow the regime of President Bashar al-Assad, it is to expect that the radical Islamists are going to commit genocides against Christians and Alawites.

Sister / Nun Dogan Hatune calls on all politicians and journalists to not make themselves guilty in the genocide of the Syrian Christians and Alawites, to refrain from trying to overthrow Bashar Assad, and to stop spreading lies, which are delivered by the terrorists, about the Syrian government (SN: and the situation).

Not ‘if’ but ‘when’: US intervention in Syria on countdown

A delegation from Syrian opposition is reportedly in talks with US officials over the targets they want to attack to weaken the Syrian government and the arms they want America to provide to do it. A “Libya lite” operation in Syria may be imminent.

The unnamed US official reportedly said that “the intervention will happen. It is not a question of ‘if’ but ‘when’.”

The delegation from the Syrian Free Army is meeting with US Ambassador to Syria Robert Ford and the State Department’s expert on Syria, Fred Hof, according to a report by debkafile, an Israeli news website, which is considered to have strong ties with the intelligence community.

The Syrian rebels have brought with them two lists for American approval.

One is that of targets in Syria they want to attack to hurt President Assad’s government. The second is a list of heavy weapons they need to carry out the attacks, which they want to get from the US, the report says.

Debkafile says the Obama administration is very close to giving the green light to shipping off the weapons, most of which have already been purchased by Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

The US is also close to deciding on the format of its own military operation in Syria, which the site’s source described as “Libya lite” – a small-scale version of the no-fly zone and air strikes carried out by NATO forces in Libya, which resulted in the toppling of its leader, Muammar Gaddafi.

Earlier top US military brass told American media that the Pentagon has finalized contingency plans for a possible operation in Syria.

This follows the UN observers pulling out of Syria due to the renewed violence in the country. The mission head said neither side of the conflict was willing to observe the ceasefire any longer, which put the UN personnel at risk.

Some reports suggest that the break in the warfare helped the Syrian opposition purchase new and better weapons with the money received from sponsors in Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
