US backs those who want to use terrorists against Assad – Lavrov

RT
I will highlight the direct quotes from Lavrov below the video:

On Wednesday, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke on the phone with his US counterpart, Secretary of State John Kerry, who expressed concern over Russian support to the Syrian leader. “Kerry was also pushing the very strange idea that supporting Bashar Assad in his anti-terror fight only strengthens the positions of ISIS, because the sponsors of ISIS would pump even more arms and money into it, Lavrov said.
What is Kerry implying when making this statement?

I will repeat that:  “Kerry was also pushing the very strange idea that supporting Bashar Assad in his anti-terror fight only strengthens the positions of ISIS, because the sponsors of ISIS would pump even more arms and money into it
Sure sounds as if Kerry is saying, you continue your support of Assad and we'll be darn sure to increase the support to ISIS, including money and arms
Lavrov: “It's an absolutely upside-down logic and yet another attempt to appease those who use terrorists to fight dissenting regimes,” the Russian FM said, mentioning US attempts to cooperate with varrious extremist groups in Syria over the past few years.
“It's a colossal mistake that the US-led [anti-ISIS] coalition never considered interaction with Syria, not even information exchange,” Lavrov said.
“I cannot comprehend this logic, or rather absolute lack of logic.” “We help not only Syria, we also provide weapons to Iraq and other countries of the region that find themselves on the frontline with the terror threat. Equally for Iraq and other countries, we do so without any political preconditions,” Lavrov said.

What do you all make of Kerry's statement to Lavrov? And yes, I do think Kerry made that statement or Lavrov would not repeat it.

Please don't miss... my expressing of dismay at the alternative media spinning for NATO wars

  2. I think you have interpreted Kerry's statement correctly, Pen. He has said similar things before. He wants Russia to back away and allow the U.S. to continue with its carnage otherwise the U.S. will create even more carnage. Psychopathic thinking at its best.
Open threats like this from the U.S. that bare their agenda, tells me they are very desperate. So what is about to go badly wrong for the the US?

    1. hey james:
if it walks like a threat and smells like a threat it's a threat.
And yah, it is quite an open threat also!

What is about to go badly wrong?
It sure looks as if the stock market is faltering- though I suspect Yellen will increase interest rates to prop the American dollar up.. Canada didn't move on ours- that cause we're buildin' the debt bubble really big here!
Oh and we are assisting in propping up the US dollar too
Oh and btw Canada is in a 'technical' recession, what ever the heck that means- but of course it's election time and liars are lying in full force
It's possible, and this is wildly speculative, that Syria and Turkey are cooperating to stop the Kurd/Israel state... Just a gut feeling? Not sure how successful they will be- but I've read some things that make me suspect something is afoot.

    2. A technical recession is when there are two consecutive quarters showing negative - growth according to their figures, that is.

I'm sure Turkey, left to its own devices, would love to co-operate with Syria in squashing any hope of a Kurdish state. They could, after all, just stop the supply convoys from Turkey to ISIS.

But they are between a rock and a hard place with the US breathing down their necks and already dismantling the Turkish state.

I can imagine that the implicit threat is the same one they gave Lavrov - "let us continue with our carnage or we'll make even more carnage".

It's a false dichotomy, of course, but will Erdogan have the fortitude to all out resist? His track record so far is not good.

  3. Unless..Unless....Kerry is signalling to Lavrov that he has NO control over the powers behind ISIS (Israel). He is saying, If you do this...they will do that and we have no power over them...Israel has run amok....as if we already don't know that. But the important thing (and there are other indications of this) is that the US is trying to distance itself from the alien force that has attached itself like an octopus to its chest and is sucking the life out of it. (just like in the movie, Alien)

    1. Israel gets its power from the international bankers that own it. It also gets power from the US govt/treasury and military which, in turn, is also owned by the international bankers (same goes for Britain)

So the 'octopus' in your analogy, GC, is the banking cartel and it has already sucked the life out of the American political system. There is nothing left to offer resistance.

John Kerry is a gopher and he would know better than anyone that his life and wealth are dependent on him doing and saying what he is told. He is working for the most murderous people on earth, after all.

So, Kerry has no power over the powers behind israel and behind himself (the bankers in both cases) and that is why he does and says everything he is told to.

Welcome to the Dark Side where freedom is a distant memory.

That's not to say that Kerry hasn't been told to play 'Good Cop' to israel's 'Bad Cop' but I doubt very much it cuts any ice with the Russians.

I can imagine that this photo of Putin and the captive King Abdullah sums up Putin's attitude to all these threats and promises.
