Woodstock & Altamont Occured in the Middle of a Pandemic- The Hong Kong Flu 1968/69

Hong Kong Flu
The Hong Kong flu (also known as 1968 flu pandemic[1]) was a flu pandemic whose outbreak in 1968 and 1969 killed an estimated one million people all over the world.
It was caused by an H3N2 strain of the influenza A virus, descended from H2N2 through antigenic shift, a genetic process in which genes from multiple subtypes reassorted to form a new virus.
We'll talk more about viruses shifting and how we do have some immunity, not perfect, based on previous exposure to preceding versions of the corona virus , evident (plain or obvious; clearly seen or understood) by the vast numbers of people having little to no sickness from the corona virus shift.

Was talking about this with  family members. Mom, Dad and Mother in law. All lived through it- each having multiple children to care for.  Myself and hubby included. None of us recall it with any significance what so ever.  Why would that be the case?

Because in each family, life continued on. Everyone went about their business. Off to work.
Off to school. ( As hubby and I both continued to attend school as 6 year old children do or used to)

Woodstock took place summer of 1969. LSD was freely handed out. And super large gatherings were all the rage.

500,000 plus  people were in attendance.

 300,000 plus in attendance

“In 1968,” says Nathaniel L. Moir in National Interest, “the H3N2 pandemic killed more individuals in the U.S. than the combined total number of American fatalities during both the Vietnam and Korean Wars.”
And this happened in the lifetimes of every American over 52 years of age.
I was 5 years old and have no memory of this at all. My mother vaguely remembers being careful and washing surfaces, and encouraging her mom and dad to be careful. Otherwise, it’s mostly forgotten today.
 Indeed it is!
Why is that?
Nothing closed. Schools stayed open. All businesses did too. You could go to the movies. You could go to bars and restaurants. John Fund has a friend who reports having attended a Grateful Dead concert. In fact, people have no memory or awareness that the famous Woodstock concert of August 1969 – planned in January during the worse period of death – actually occurred during a deadly American flu pandemic that only peaked globally six months later. There was no thought given to the virus which, like ours today, was dangerous mainly for a non-concert-going demographic.
Stock markets didn’t crash. Congress passed no legislation. The Federal Reserve did nothing. Not a single governor acted to enforce social distancing, curve flattening (even though hundreds of thousands of people were hospitalized), or banning of crowds. No mothers were arrested for taking their kids to other homes. No surfers were arrested. No daycares were shut even though there were more infant deaths with this virus than the one we are experiencing now. There were no suicides, no unemployment, no drug overdoses.
Media covered the pandemic but it never became a big issue.

Yaya had done a report about the numerous pandemics we've had here in Canada and globally. You should read it, entirely.
"It's not the pandemic that's the problem; it's the response to it that is problematic for everyone.  There have been far worse pandemics. Why now are whole nations being locked down? Could it be because there already is a ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT?

The Internet is full of end-of-days rants and so-called prophesies like this one.

If there is any truth at all to what they're saying, then Bill Gates is the AntiChrist. He thinks he can prevent the End of the World (translation: overpopulation) with vaccines. Others call it Dumping toxins on the Third World.
NO! NO! and NO!
"Clearly the guy suffers from horrific nightmares of being overrun by humans inferior to himself."

  1. Here is a gem; it's ten pages long and worth every minute of your (or anyone's) time:

And, credit where it's due - this is where I found it (second comment):

    1. I should make it clear why I find this article so interesting: experiments (some pretty yucky too!) as far back as one hundred years ago could not answer the question of what influenza "virus" is and why some get it and others don't which is still true today.

    2. Gwen, what I found very interesting was not only was their one vaccine available at the time of the Spanish flu pandemic according to that report - there were several.

Which completely contradicts the reporting I've seen at this time (of course reality is always rewritten to fit a specific narrative)

"Those who already had a vaccine in hand were quick off the mark to promote their vaccines as sure preventives or cures for influenza"

" Preexisting vaccines of undisclosed composition were also endorsed by physicians such as M.J. Exner, who actively promoted in newspaper interviews and testimonials"

So the media played it's role in misinforming even then

"His vaccine was claimed to prevent pneumonia, influenza, and blood poisoning. Exner's boosterism paid some dividends. At least one municipality, Far Rockaway, New York, announced that it would provide Bonime's vaccine to all its citizens"

      And another vaccine

"Early in the pandemic, more highly respected and well-placed authorities developed vaccines based explicitly on Pfeiffer's bacillus. On October 2, 1918, Royal S. Copeland, Health Commissioner of New York City, sought to reassure citizens that help was on the way, because the director of the Health Department's laboratories, William H. Park, was developing a vaccine that would offer protection against this dreaded disease."

And another vaccine (take note of the name)

"At Tufts Medical School in Boston, Timothy Leary, professor of bacteriology and pathology, developed another Pfeiffer's bacillus vaccine. "

Had to do some digging, but, yes, it seems the CIA LSD guru's namesake was his great uncle Timothy Leary

"Leary, the LSD guru of the ‘60s counterculture, was born into a well-to-do Springfield, Mass., family in 1920. A great uncle, another Dr. Timothy Leary, was Boston’s medical examiner, and his grandfather was believed to be the richest man in western Massachusetts."

Leary, wealthy and connected to the medical/university establishment- it explains the LSD guru promotion.

It's interesting the names that turn up isn't it?

    3. I'd have to re-read the article, but I had the impression that none of the "vaccines" actually worked either (like now). So even then they were getting some concocted swill jabbed in their arm.

Definitely noticed the name but didn't take the time to look it up. It is mighty interesting... the names that turn up and the connections that have been there since the beginning of time, it seems.

  2. Thanks for the link, Penny. The longer this Orwellian nightmare goes on the more I connect it with the oft foretold implosion of our economy due to the gross malpractice of the banksters. It's a covert op cover up.

    1. GC: I loved the picture

"I connect it with the oft foretold implosion of our economy due to the gross malpractice of the banksters"

Yup, that looks to me as if that is the reason for all this..

  3. This is a terrific blog post. Now that you've brought it up, I do remember the "Hong Kong flu". My husband is four years older than me, so I asked him if he remembers it and he said, "oh yes". I asked him if he remembers any special precautions, were his parents concerned and he said nothing special and parents were not concerned. I was seven (turning eight in Feb 1969) at the time.

    1. I'm glad you enjoyed it

"I asked him if he remembers any special precautions, were his parents concerned and he said nothing special and parents were not concerned"

That seems to be about how my parents viewed it as well.
I was too young to recall it. But don't remember anything untoward occuring

  4. Thanks, Penny.

I have a vivid memory from 1968. I was planning a dinner party, and I remember standing in front of the buffet checking the wine supply and reminding myself not to buy any South African Wine.
The Beatles were huge, and it was around that time that my brother's gospel quartet won several times on the Ted Mack show, singing This Little Light of Mine. That's it. Nothing at all about any scary flu, and I had 2 wee kids at the time, so if I had thought there was any threat, that's what I would have remembered instead of the above.

    1. Neither my mom, dad or my mother in a law had any memory of the pandemic except the two mom's recalled the name
      That's it,
      Not impactful obviously.
At that time my parents had 4 children
      Hubby's parents had 3 children
Clearly they did not feel threatened

    - Veteran Russian GRU (Military Intel) Colonel Says The Coronavirus Pandemic Is Lie Of Misdirection And That The Virus And World Financial Crisis Are Inextricably Linked To Each Other And Must Be Considered As 'A Global Strategic Special Operation'

  6. Hello, Penny. A Marxist Blogger and scholar of religiĆ³n I used to like, Roland Boer, has virtually turned his WordPress channel, Stalin's Moustache, into 24/7 Coronavirus Magazine. He turned overnight from someone who thought critically on nearly everything, into either a shill or a true believer in Covid19 fear porn. I called him out for it as a comment on his most recent article, albeit on polite terms, and a day later, my post looks like it wasn't approved by him for publication. In case I really behaved myself badly, here is a saved copy from my email account:
I'm very disappointed with Roland Boer. China may be reopening and successfully containing the virus- though I don't see how 80,000 out of 1.4 billion people infected was such a grave threat- but two billion of us outside of China and select countries like Sweden or Iran, are stuck with medical martial law, forced idleness, starvation, and deteriorating mental health from the lack of fresh air or social contact. Insititutions like the Imperial College in England were caught cooking the books about the estimated numbers of grave or fatal infectees from NCov19, economies are also imploding in Latin America, Southern Europe, Africa and parts of Asia- where most of the population isn't touched by the public sector or large companies, so they depend on informal commerce to sustain themselves (way to own the West, right?). Haute bourgeois like Jeff Bezos or Bernard Arnault are hundreds of billions of U.S. dollars richer from counterfeit "stimulus" policies on the part of Western governments. Business is booming for Silicon Valley and the security industry. The Trump Administration has continued its sabre-rattling against Venezuela by moving a naval ship near territorial waters, and the Saudi Air Force is bombing Yemen to smithereens (where's the social distancing here?). Benjamin Netanyahu's regime has granted itself additional Powers to annex Palestinian territory. And doctors plus medical researchers who dispute the scientific or humanitarian merits of these idiotic quarantines (like Knut Wittkowski of Rockefeller University) are being systemically censored on social networking websites and applications. Then there's an attorney being forced into a psychiatric hospital in Germany for not agreeing with the consensus:
By not properly researching the next greatest confidence job after the bank bailouts for the 2008 stock market collapse, you're contributing to making things worse, while just laying on the hoity-toity rhetoric about multipolarity and the rise of China that just isn't appropriate for this situation. Can't you at least go back to writing about the other topics besides the bloody coronavirus? I'm saying this as constructive criticism, honest to God.

    1. Hi Martin:

I don't think it was a rude comment.
      You made many good points.

It's interesting to see these lies of omission in a number of so called alternative places/anti empire spaces.

It's as if a tunnel vision is their only vision and they can't see anything but what is in the tunnel.

Other researches saying the numbers aren't correct?
      Issues with the testing
Padding the numbers (which is acknowledged in the CDC information)
      We don't have accurate data?
This is not the way to go about things?
Rampant, massively increased hardship financial and otherwise- "well why do you want to work for the capitalist class" It's absurd.
      Increased stress.
People who aren't getting their medical treatments and dying- unimportant to those with tunnel vision.

There are many aspects that create the entirety of this situation and they all matter.
To ignore them is, in my opinion, intentionally malicious to the wider suffering and harm being caused.. That will reverberate on through our economies and our societies for some time to come

  7. Of course I recognize the name, Hong Kong Flu, but I do not remember anything special about it and I wasn't aware that it happened while I was doing a 2 year training course at a local hospital. Absolutely certain there were no special procedures in place. We did learn isolation technique but it had nothing to do with flu. It was simply part of the training, in case we had to enter a room with a highly infectious or immunocompromised patient which didn't happen very often. The only hospital sight that ever spooked me was coming across an old abandoned iron lung in the hallway of a rarely used section of the hospital. That probably had something to do with how they scared us kids about polio years before. I still cringe at the memory. I'm afraid kids today will harbour an even deeper trauma for the rest of their lives, thanks to CV911 madness.

Great comment, Martin. Glad you were able to share it with us at least.

"I'm afraid kids today will harbour an even deeper trauma for the rest of their lives, thanks to CV911 madness. "

I believe you are correct and think this is part of the psyop

    2. OMG, M.R., I just had a vision of the iron lung display I saw at a local fair when I was in my early teens. There was a real person in it, but who knows if he had polio??? At a fair, for pete's sake; where you're supposed to have fun! They made him into just another freak show!

    3. Yaya, that's so disturbing in so many ways. -- M.R.

    4. Here's an article about an American who talks about seeing one on display at a State fair, put there by the March of Dimes in order to raise money for the iron lung project.

So, I guess that's why our local summer fair had one as well - to support the March of Dimes. The one I saw would have been around 1954 and it looked like this one:

You're right about it being disturbing. It's one of those things that never disappears from memory even though you wish it would. It was in a little wooden building raised off the ground, and you had to walk up a short wooden stairway to a small landing before going inside. That's how clear the memory has remained! Strangely, I don't recall the face of the young person in the machine. I don't think he made eye contact, and I tried not to stare. I remember the sound: whoosh, clunk, whoosh, clunk ...
