Dave McGowan and the death of Jimi Hendrix's drummer

Briefly, Dave McGowan has his new Laurel Canyon piece up, I notice that the series is going longer then Dave had anticipated. When he was on Meria he thought the whole Laurel Canyon series would run about 12 parts , but... looks like 15 parts will be the final tally?

Some sad news that ties into the Laurel Canyon scene.

Jimi Hendrix's drummer was found dead.
With the death of Mitch Mitchell, the Jimi Hendrix Experience is over

Mitch Mitchell in his younger days

Will the wind ever remember the names it has blown in the past?

The Wind Cries Mary

  1. The whole Laurel Canyon thing is just creepy. How could these guys get togather and drop acid and write music like that while stoned out of their heads.` Its like a parallel to the Jim Jones thing.

That music is magic - special musicology/ psychology talent going on there likely from the high priests of the NWO.

Has anyone read "They Sold Their Souls to Rock & Roll" ?

  2. Hey Doug,

Well, I think what McGowan is getting at is that they didn't write their own music. Sure looks like Jim Morrison didn't write any of his, ha ha.

And then there's Frank Zappa who, Charles Manson-style, would encourage everyone else to take acid, but not drop any himself.

The thing with Laurel Canyon is that nothing is what you thought it was.

  3. hey doug: haven't read that book, would you leave the authors name so I can check it out.

Read all the biographical books on the doors, jimi hendrix, aerosmith, bowie, numerous rolling stones books, and probably more.... that I can't recall.

I actually sent Dave McGowan some info on FRank Zappa, from the book
Rock and Roll Babylon, that I thought he might find interesting.

What I wanted to tell you is Meria is going to be interviewing Global Warming/ Global Governance is it Michael Kaufman, remember you sent me that movie???
I don't know where it is right now, but then that is the disarray my life has been in for the past year and a half.

Anyway, looking forward to that one, and wait a minute, did you previously send me an audio interview also?

If you can recall that would be great and I will hunt around for it.

Anyway, she will put the interview up in a week or two, so I will post about it.

Also while I was out tonight, having supper at a thai restaurant, yummy, mango chicken, yum yum

Grabbed a book at chapters called
    Cool It
The Skeptical Environmentalists Guide to Global warming
    Author: Bjorn Lomborg

Took a gander through it and it piqued my interest completely.
Also grabbed Beyond Chutzpah by Norman Finkelstein, this is the first book of his I have ever purchased and am looking forward with much interest to reading it.

My whole problem, so many dam books, not enough time to read.

  4. exactly nobody, nothing is as it seems in Laurel Canyon, and this means dave will appear on Meria very soon and I can't wait.

Strawberry fields, nothing is real, and nothing to get hung about
    strawberry fields forever.

btw isn't this a great line

Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see.

  5. It is a great line. And mango chicken in a Thai restaurant? Not an Indian one? Thai people eat mango chicken too? The world has gone mad!
