Plans for 4,700 more troops for the homeland

As previously noted here beginning Oct 01/08 a combat team was assigned domestically to the US, under command of Northcom. A "dwell time" mission. Whatever that really means?
But there is more, and isn't there always?

In the next three years the military plans to activate and train an estimated 4,700 service members for specialized domestic operations, according to Air Force Gen. Gene Renuart, commander of U.S. Northern Command, which was created in 2002 for homeland defense missions.

Is there more then meets the eye here? How does this fit in with Obama's plans for some type of domestic force?

  1. How does this fit in with Obama's plans for some type of domestic force? Very well I would think, it's been done before, many times.

At first the people do not go quitely into that cold dark night and must be prodded like cattle boarding the train to that place of rotating knives and rivers of blood.

  2. I'll take it you don't feel "a change is gonna come" with Mr Obama?
    Nor do I.
I fear it will be a change for the worse, delivered with a winning smile.

Hey if and when nobody puts up a new post, feel free to come by still.
I like semi-grouch people, sometimes, I can even be one!

  3. Well, I think it was good that I took a break. It got Silverfish out of his routine and over here. All for the good.
