UPDATED! Syrian Army Downs Israeli Plane & Drone: Israel Denies Claim

Quneitra, SANA
The General Command of the Army and the Armed Forces announced on Tuesday that the Israeli enemy’s air force attacked a Syrian military position in the countryside of the southern Quneitra province at 1 am on September 13, 2016.

The General Command said in a statement the Syrian air defense forces responded to the attack and shot down an Israeli warplane to the southwest of Quneitra and an Israeli drone to the west of Sa’sa’ town in the southwestern countryside of Damascus.

It noted that the Israeli attack came in support of the armed terrorist groups and in a desperate attempt to raise the deteriorating morale of their members due to the heavy losses they have suffered in Quneitra.
Israel loves terrorists!

Israel claims it was responding to errant fire, if it occurred at all, it was undoubtedly their terror crew looking for support. The usual behaviour for both parties. Every single time Israel responds they strike SAA rather then their terrorists.
-The Israeli military said its aircraft attacked targets in Syria hours after the mortar bomb from fighting among factions in Syria

The Syrian army said it had shot down an Israeli warplane and a drone after the Israeli attack.

Denying any of its aircraft had been lost, the Israeli military said in a statement: "Overnight two surface-to-air missiles were launched from Syria after the mission to target Syrian artillery positions. At no point was the safety of (Israeli) aircraft compromised”

The Syrian armed forces shot down an Israeli warplane and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) following an attack on their positions in the neighboring Quneitra province, Syrian media reported Tuesday.

The attack, which Syria’s SANA news service attributed to the general command of the Syrian Armed Forces, took place at 1 a.m. local time (22:00 GMT)

Israel is acknowledging that Syria shot missiles at their jets
"In a rare response to a foreign report, the IDF on Tuesday denied that any of its aircraft had been downed, but said Syrian forces had fired two surface-to-air missiles after the Israeli strike Monday night on a Syrian position.

However, the military said the missiles were nowhere near the vicinity of the Israel aircraft. The IDF added that all the Israeli jets had returned to base"

Just my opinion, but the fact that Israel issued a denial to the Syrian report suggests their plane/drone or both had been struck. It appears they, Israel, were forced to issue the denial as a face saving measure. Israel's strikes lines up, time wise, with the Syrian shoot down. Israel acknowledges Syria fired at their plane and drone. Syria gives the locales. Both narratives confirm one another - except for the ending. It seems to me Syria downed, at least one, if not both the plane and drone down.

According to the Syrian Army statement the Israeli attack took place at around 1 A.M. The statement further says that the missiles were fired at an Israeli jet and a UAV west of Sa'sa, in the Syrian Golan Heights. The statement said that the Israeli attack was aimed at helping the rebel forces and raising their moral after the "defeat" they suffered in the Quneitra region.

Long term readers here were fully informed, years ago regarding Israel's backing of the terrorists destroying Syria-  Infiltrated with NGO's. Setting up field hospitals. Took terrorists into Israel including to hospital for treatment beyond what was available at their field hospitals. Took many shots at SAA on Syrian territory, airstrikes and more, in full support of their Islamist thugs. So this video will not be a surprise to anyone:

In a phone call made by an Israeli reporter and a field commander from the Saudi-backed Jaish al-Islam, the later confirmed that they are not abiding by the ceasefire with the Syrian government, offering the reporter – who spoke fluent Arabic– to send him combat footage from the battlefield.
When asked to address the government of Israel, the rebel commander demanded a full support of arms, food and all kinds of aid.
"I call on our brothers the Israelis to support the revolution in Syria, and provide us with everything; weapons, food, aid…anything brother".
Brother? In killing? In arms?

  1. So if Israel is lying and considering their past history, it's most likely, then what excuse will they use to bomb the Hell out of Syria?

Or do they even need an excuse in this lawless world run by psychos?

    1. Reality is adjusted retrospectively

    2. There was a protest in the Israeli parliament yesterday for the govt' explicit backing of a rebel attack. This is also drawing a direct line to that Russian UAV that accidentally violated Israeli territory and the Israelis failed to shoot down.

And then there is the former Mossad chief echoing Yaalon wanrings about domestic strife amidst Netanyahu accusing the Palestinians of ethnic cleansing by barring settlements...

Yaalon: Former defense minister attacks current leadership of Israel, saying “at this point, and in the foreseeable future, there is no existential threat facing Israel.

One wonders what that massive Egypt super-field find, the Lebanese push for auctions despite failed presidential elections, Turkstream permits and the recent announcements of the Greek-Russian-Bulgaria pipes plans does to the Israeli energy aspirations?

Speaking of oil and the sickly charts, after the blazing fields in Iraq the Libya oil hubs now on fire

    3. Hi Greg, james and anonymous!
      short on time yesterday

      reality is indeed adjusted retrospectively.

thanks for the links intend to catch up on some of this reading today

  2. Iran denies the US claims about navy. Now US says planes being threatened. another 'gulf' incident coming?

  3. Penny,
    for your documentation files

'Next come the Kurds, an ancient Indo-European stateless people spread across Turkey, Iraq, Iran and Syria. They have been denied a national state by the western powers since WWI. Kurdish rebels in Iraq have been armed and financed by Israel since the 1970’s.'

i read 2 articles at Strategic Culture last evening by Dimitri Minn -- one on Kurds, and another that was supposed to be about Golan, but somehow he worked the kurds into it..

strange part is I though Madsen was anti-zio all these years. ?

    1. read the margolis piece

and Wayne Madsen?? has long been questionable, IMO
      I don't read him
      Nor Gordon Duff

    2. I don't always read Madsen, usually only about US NSA + stuff as he used to be in the navy.
Go to the sight mainly to find Finnian Cunningham or a couple other folks there.

Duff :D:D first, he's jewish, second he works / worked for arms dealer, and 3rd, he openly admits he lies half the time and he's mentally unstable because of his service in Nam..
who could trust him ? far too many idiots ://

  4. I've been chuckling off and on all morning watching israel stumble around denying this event.

    good morning humor ;p

  5. I've updated the post with a video and additional news article as the Islamists of Jaish al-Islam, undoubtedly, embedded with IDF, sends a message to their brothers in Israel

And yes many IDF soldiers do speak Arabic. It helps with framing and blaming of others for Israeli terror. Or is necessary when your embedded with your Islamist thugs

  6. So Israeli warplanes can attack Syrian Army, Turkey can invade Syrian territories, the US can establish bases on Syrian soil... It seems that Russia is quite helpless as an ally.

    1. Israeli, US and Turkish actions are somehow the fault/responsibility of Russia?

    2. @Penny "Israeli, US and Turkish actions are somehow the fault/responsibility of Russia?"

Why Russia does not sell advanced anti-aircraft missiles to Syria? I still can remember 1990s, Yugoslavia and Russian army in Kosovo. The Serbs in Pristina were full of hope... What happened then everyone knows. The US strongly supports its allies (e.g. Israel, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain), Russia is much more hesitant.
